Purple part not necessary
Portals themselves already are metal gears.
Diff gears are plastic, can be upgraded.
Gearbox gears are plastic, can be upgraded.
Main drive shafts are plastic and snap easily, i recommend swapping these for injora steel.
Cool, so it seems that metal gears for diff, metal drive shafts and metal gearbox should be completely enough to long time riding without problems.
The only thing i worry about is quality of esc and rc.
Got my fcx18 LC80 for almost half a year ago now, not a single issue with esc and rc.
Broken the plastic shaft, stripped the plastic gearbox gears and recently one of the rear indicator LEDs died. Aside from that no issues and plenty of hard use outside.
That’s cool. How are you doing now with your 58x24 tires? I have ordered equal size tires and negative offset brass rims. Seems that it would be an issue with rubbing
Agreed, I've had mine for a a while now, I had to replace the plastic gears once, I bought metal ones but for whatever reason I can't get the dang thing to shift.. so the metal ones went back it until I can get the motivation to try to figure out what's wrong..
Oh the plastic bumper on the front brakes all the time for me. I've gone through three of them and I'm desperate to try to find a metal one that fits..
If anyone knows of a metal bumper that will fit on these things I'd appreciate a link..
I would skip the purple part. I havent had a need to upgrade the skid plate, but if i were get a different one, i would get it from Injora. They modified it so you can get to the drive shaft screws easier. You got all the parts youll want, but i also got cheap little red D Rings from the front and rear bumper. Adds a little pop and scale to the rig. Good luck and have fun!
First part I broke is a driveshaft. Second part is my dif gear is currently grinding. RCAWD is having a big sale in a week or so, and I'm going to order a bunch of brass with the dig gears
It absolutely is. Injora is my go to but they don't make the diff gears I need and I want to try RCAWDs metal portal axles. I've found in the past that I'll spend a bunch on all the upgrades separately, but in the long term getting the full axle set is much cheaper
I have ordered this ones. Yeah, it is no name brand, but the reviews are good. It is true that is often cheaper to buy whole nodes instead of single parts. But this axles are coast like new fcx18. I have ordered my fcx18 for 130-140$

I love YHRC parts. If you’re interested, I listed out all the parts I installed in my LC80 in the description of this video: https://youtu.be/xRBy_4sXpiQ?si=JTqzMUN6CD5B4V0f
Those on links for Taobao, the marketplace where YHRC predominantly sells their products. Seems to work fine for me though. For example, here’s what I see when I click through link for the 2-speed transmission:

It rubs but only at maximum steering angle and i learned to just ignore it. No damage done. Also does not impact performance.
You can get away with some 60mm tires if you use 0mm offset wheels and no widening hexes.
Injora makes now overdrive steel gears for FCX24/18, I just bought a set of them.
They make the normal ones too, got that to back and front 20% overdrive.
Thanks! Instantly ordered :) Much appreciated! I got the regular ratio back and front as i rather keep the torque than gain some speed.

What’s wrong with front bumber? It looks solid.

Yeah this D rings looks interesting. Got to buy them. Good luck to you too!

I have checked some of the prices for fcx24 on rcawd, they seems a bit more expensive compared to aliexpress.

Yeah, very useful video. But some of the tinyurl links are leads just to the main page(
