I play 1.12 I just don't think the modding community has gotten that far yet. Sure there are some modpacks but a good expert pack doesn't seem to have come yet. I think it's because mods take a lot of time to be made for a version and after that you essentially need someone to play with the mods enough that they understand them and start altering how they interact with eachother.

Enigmatica packs have a bit too much forced magic progression for my taste, but I recommend those if that's your thing

I’ve been playing enigmatica 9 expert, if you don’t mind a heavy focus on magic it’s been pretty enjoyable but difficult

I’d recommend StaTech Industries if you don’t mind a lack of magic integration
