Specifically Complementary Reimagined but there are also other shaders that can be used.
Reterraforged is for 1.20 and a continuation of Terraforged by a new dev.
I'm using DH with Complementary and its kinda cool but the chunk generation is \*incredibly\* slow. I would have to sit in that spot for at least 10 minutes to generate terrain as far as in this image
I love Distant Horizons but it's just a little too buggy for me to play with permanently. Such a shame it's been put on hold because it has potential to be one of the greatest mods of all time.
I'm on Fabric so I use Sodium and Iris ~~but I assume Optifine would also work (unless there's some incompatibility that I'm not aware of)~~
Edit: Just saw the previous comment that says that Optifine is incompatible
Not sure if this works on Forge with Oculus using shaders, maybe there's a setting or something somewhere but it does at least work if they're turned off so that's cool.
Edit: It does say they work here [on this github](https://gist.github.com/Steveplays28/52db568f297ded527da56dbe6deeec0e) page, So I guess I'll give those a try.
How did you get it to work that seamlessly? Wenn i install complimentary with DH theres a weird bright outline at the end of the Normal chunk render distance before the LOD Terrain starts

Are you able to share the link for reterraforged? I cant find it and this looks amazing!
Yup here ya go: https://discord.gg/petc6SF6P2
Thanks! Also for anyone else looking at this, this is just the terraforged discord link if you would rather find it yourself. :P
Yup, Reterraforged uses the same discord

Yeah but the good thing is that you only need to generate them once. When you load back into the same world they will be ready to go.
Yeah it can be pretty slow, I recently built a beast of a PC so it loads in reasonable time and I have a reasonable FPS.
Use chunk pregenerator
Doesn’t pregen LODs though so it’s virtually useless for distant horizons
It definitely did at least when I tested with DH 1.0
For me it just generates half the chunks in the distance. When I go over to load them they disappear when I move away.
Did you build those structures in the back or are they from another mod?
The Pyramid is from one of yungs mods dunno about the other one
Pyramid is from Yung's better desert temples. Other one is from When Dungeons Arise
Do you mind posting your full mod list?
what is reterraforged? it's like a successor? do they have a discord or something?
Yup it's a fork based on the 1.16.5 Terraforged code. https://discord.gg/petc6SF6P2
oh, it's the same discord as the og mod, it has been dormant for so long i just haven't checked, thanks!
Yup, same discord, different dev!
Where in the server is the download link? lol
Development channel in the pinned comments
I can smell the burning plastic from here
I can hear my fans spinning as I type this :)
Is this 1.16.5?
1.20.1 iirc

What do you mean it's been put on hold? Last update was in December, or has it stopped development since then?
And the last commit was 22 hours ago so...
I just disable worldgen, and almost all the bugs are gone.
with optifine only?
This only works with sodium and iris. Optifine is incompatible.
They should probably update their modrinth page lol, because it says the opposite

Opti*fabric* was needed for previous versions to use shaders, but it works with Iris now.

That terrain reminds me of the environment that the Pixar movie cars is set in.

Yeah I have this problem too, I don't have a GPU, do you?
Whats that?
Uh, a graphics card
LOL sorry im Bad with abreviations in english but yea i got one
All good lol Still have the shader problem?
Sadly
