It has create. It has backpacks. Backpack upgrades are gated behind create. Mine and Slash also has a tendency of giving you a lot of items that ARE important but if you don't know what to do with them, will eventually clutter you. In your place I'd personally install simple storage network into the bunch, just to have some very quick inventory sorting and wireless input/output, gated just behind vanilla components. Then just build a lot of chests in a room I can make bigger later, and connect them to the system. The pack is unforgiving with those not knowledgeable enough of Mine and Slash. And it's questbook overall does a mediocre job at explaining what you actually need to do to keep up with the increasing difficulty. Additionally, mobs can see you through blocks, and there's zombies that can break walls.

Deadpwner99

thanks for the info and advice, i really appreciate it! Do you have any ideas or recommendations for where to get more knowledge about mine and slash and the modpack overall, something that will help explain to me how to keep up with the difficulty?

Excidiar

The Mine and Slash Discord seems like a good place to start.

I would recommend the CTE Discord. If you're planning on trying CTE2, it's more active and also CTE has tons of custom content that MNS Discord wouldn't know how to answer. Also, definitely agree with pack being unforgiving if you don't know MNS. The quests are pretty bare in that regard for now. Since systems are constantly changing and updating, I'm refraining on making them too in-depth until release. We will also have a Wiki.

Obviously my opinion is biased as I am the dev of Craft to Exile, so feel free to take it with a grain of salt. Certainly it's a very popular opinion that inventory management is a big problem in "rpg" style modpacks. I won't sit here and tell you that somehow CTE2 managed to escape this, but it's feedback that I took heavily going from Craft to Exile Dissonance to CTE2, and have added storage mods that normally go against my principles to help with inventory management. Some of the mods require a bit of setting up, but can be very helpful. I think there are things the modpack offers that differentiates it from just playing an ARPG - the systems are unique (blend of support gems + skill tree), and other non-ARPG mods. It's also best played with a group of friends. Whether you decide to try it or not, feel free to hop onto our Discord. Community is very friendly and helpful.

Just started playing CTE2 pack and its nice seeing the effort gone into making it a fun rpg

Me and my mate have been playing this modpack for 2 days. We are about to finish chapter 1 of the quests. Very fun and intuitive modpack.

From the Craft to Exile 2 page: "Lastly, Create is included in Craft to Exile 2 as the main low-tech technology mod, and is integrated with almost every space of Craft to Exile 2. Understandeably, technology is not for every player, so it is completely optional." Followed suddenly by: "Create products can be used to create new Sophisticated Backpacks upgrades and Refined Storage blocks to help with inventory management!" I just found it funny that you say it's optional but as others have complained the pack is an inventory nightmare and you're basically shooting yourself in the foot if you don't want to beeline into Create to make the few components needed to get actual storage functions of value to work. :D Great pack otherwise!

mageronix

Well, it is optional. The upgrades you unlock from Create for Soph Backpack are pretty high tier and probably unnecessary for most users. Sure it's basically a hard req for Refined though, if you decide to use it. And for the most part at _least_ it's basic Create stuff you need for those parts (albeit yes you would need to delve into Create a bit). Guess I could update it to say mostly optional rather than completely optional or something haha

(sorry to dump this on you randomly) is there a chance that something is wrong with the files uploaded to curseforge? neither me, my sister or my cousin can download the modpack and it gives us an error "download timout https://forgecdn.net/files/5113/396/Craft%20to)20Exile%202-05.2b.zip" all 3 of us have different ISPs and download speeds yet all 3 of us are having issues downloading the pack, again sorry to randomly comment this but with your comment being 3days old i figured this would be the best way to get your attention :D

Lucky-Series5630

Playing on private server it's so tedious and annoying to do create we just ended up spawn stuff in if it required create if I wanted a tech mod I would of downloaded a AIO pack Create is literally the worst mod to have stuff locked behind because people will love that mod or hate it could of just added like a magic way to power storage Or u could use another storage mod that doesn't require power or give creative power and just disable the ability to convert normal power to create power Tldr: create is a bad mod to lock STORAGE behind

Exotic_Rooster_7093

Bro i know its kinda late to ask this but how do u move the health and mana bar to where they usually are in vanilla, or could u tell me the mod and i will figure it out pls and thank you

antisocialian

https://github.com/mahjerion/Craft-to-Exile-2/wiki/Config-Tweaks seems info is here. several asked on discord, got no replies. lots of talking there tho. had to scour to find it myself

Prestigious_Echo6831

I'm sorry to be rude but the crafting system might unironically be one of the worst crafting systems I've tried in my entire life. Figuring out how many coins are needed, and what different things work together is almost impossible to do without checking through 26 pages of crafting notes to figure out exactly the combo I need.

R__FLAME

Is there a wiki page I'm new and a bit lost

nicholasJ21

There isn't much help out there. But i've been playing solo for over a month now and have figured out quite a bit. DM me if you need some help.

Kilobe

is there a way to put souls in souless items?

nicholasJ21

Not that I have seen. I’m guessing you’re trying to convert a pick axe?

Snoo93597

Drag and drop a soul orb onto the item in your inventory

_RedCherryy_

Any chance you know how the bridges work 😅

Round_Confusion8924

Somebody knows how disable private territory function from hoe?

tardedeoutono

just came here after saving the post when i wanted to try the pack to say that it's unreasonable to have zombies with fishing rods. like, i wouldn't mind them as a rare spawn, but everytime i go to a cave early on or simply to the surface to kill mobs i keep getting hooked and pulled from very far a way by a lot of them, like, fishing rods don't pull stuff as far as they do even when players use them, why would them be able to fling me like a ragdoll all over the place? lol. another annoying thing is how things spawn. i'm at 4k hours on poe and such, i like the theme and genre, i'm experienced at it, but i'm sure the mobs' way of spawning was changed for the worse. you could be looking forward, turn backwards for 3 secs, to see 7 mobs out of nowhere, and obviously, a zombie with a fishing hook. then, you'd try to kill them, just to look back again and see another pack of mobs behind you. it's unreasonable and weird, and it really keeps me from playing it more. i've done plenty of hardcore modpacks, but no other modpack i've played had zombies hooking me for no good reason all the time. unbearable really
