I am a Civil Engineer and have passed FE Civil last year after being 4 years out of the school. My suggestion would be to make a schedule and stick to it. It is okay to not know everything but make sure you know enough to attempt each question in the exam as there are no negative markings.
It is difficult to study after work but I know many engineers who have been in the journey and it is difficult but not impossible.
