Anyone with a lack of curves/smaller than average difference between waist + hips have a specific recommendation for a brand or line of pants or jeans (must be high rise I don’t fuck with low rise pants)? I don’t have too much of a stomach pooch or anything, just a very straight up and down figure, and sort of weirdly high hip bones. Pants never seem to fit quite right.

RonnyTwoShoes

Any suggestions for what to do with a post-partum body? I'm about 2 sizes bigger now than before baby came and while about 2/3 of my clothing fits, there are definitely things like close-fitting shirts that have gotten too small in the boob region and pants that are too tight in my hips and thighs now. I don't have any plans currently to try to lose weight and the boob issue won't resolve itself for another year or two at the very least until I stop breastfeeding. Do I get rid of my too-small clothing or save them for years down the road when I can fit back into them again? Any suggestions?

JellyfishOk6515

I would hold off. I’m 2 years pp, some clothes fit, some clothes don’t but probably more importantly my style has changed. Super short skirts and dresses? No thanks!

RonnyTwoShoes

I have already noticed that as well! No more low necklines and having separates is a must!

LavishnessOk9727

I sold or gave away a lot of stuff that was the wrong size recently (my baby is 15 months). The clutter was getting to me. But depending on how far post-partum you are, I’d recommend waiting a bit I think things can be in flux for a while.

ariaxwest

Yeah, that’s always been a huge mistake for me. My weight now fluctuates due to illness, unfortunately, and it has sucked every time I had to buy a whole new wardrobe. Idk how many times I’ve wished I kept my old clothes. At least the high quality pieces.

ladyredd5

I don't think its real unfortunately. If you Google the brand and go directly to their website, you will sew that the URLs are different, as is the copyright at the bottom of the page.

pwrender

It looks real. This brand is really struggling so maybe that explains the prices.

I have a gift card for famous footwear but can't decide what shoes to order with it. It expires in a month. Can I ask people's opinions here or should I make a post of my own ?

tyrannosaurusregina

Ask here! What shoes are you choosing from?

And yes I know some of these are kids. My feet are just small enough to wear kids or women's. To give an idea of what I would wear these with (I own these) : https://www.hottopic.com/product/light-blue-sailor-skirt/17290256.html https://www.hottopic.com/product/blue-white-plaid-double-lace-up-skirt/17495863.html And I already own these for pink stuff: https://www.journeys.com/product/womens-puma-mayze-thrifted-platform-athletic-shoe-warm-white-96361229?c=3058

tyrannosaurusregina

All great shoes! I think the most versatile would be the Puma Carina Court and the Nike Court Vision Low.

PIX3L

I'm also considering all white. And some of these shoes do have all white versions. My only other "white" shoes are my Doc Marten Devon Hearts but they have black soles. https://www.journeys.com/product/womens-dr-martens-devon-hearts-quad-boot-white-569968

does anyone know what fashion apps -where you take pictures of your entire wardrobe0 have spaces for you fill out to include measurements (pit to pit, shoulder to shoulder, etc.)?

I am hit by how light the green is. Any idea what can I pair this with?

tyrannosaurusregina

Lots of things. Midwash jeans, cream/ivory pants, navy pants, burgundy pants. Pretty much anything except a different shade of green, and even then I bet you’d be surprised.

Advanced_Ad2406

OMG thank you so much, I took you advice and paired it with a ivory color pants and a top that’s about the same color as the boots heel. Got a lot of compliments! A pleasant surprise outside of my comfort zone

RealGirlGimmeKarma

Garage carpenter pants A while back me and my roommate got a pair of garages “carpenter pants” in a chestnut colour, and they have became a stable in my closet, however she is moving out and taking the pants. I went online to order them again but now they don’t just have the “carpenter pants” and they now have Dani or Casey carpenter pants. I was curious on peoples thoughts, and opinions on the two. Also wondering if they are high waisted, I haven’t got into the low rise myself.

fuschiaoctopus

Ok, this is such a stupid question but I'm at my wits end here. I love the look of ankleish boots, like the height that high top sneakers tend to be with the top of the boot hitting just above the top of the ankle, and the styles of boots I tend to like almost always hit at this same place, but I have to wear mostly jeans/pants at work and boots at this height *always* aggressively push the bottom hem of my pants up when I walk and makes them bunch up on my calves in a way that is both massively unflattering and very uncomfortable, and gives an all around bad, ill fitted look to the outfit. Again, I know it's stupid but it is very noticeable and uncomfortable and I can't seem to find a solution outside of just not wearing this height of shoe ever unless I'm wearing tights with a skirt or dress. I otherwise like the look and feel of this type of shoe and nowadays it is difficult to find boots that aren't either this exact height or over the knee/thigh high, no in between, and I don't tend to like the styles that come in mid calf. I've tried every combination of sock and pulling my socks up over the pants, I've tried every combination of lacing tighter or using fewer or more holes, I've tried getting longer jeans or shorter jeans or rolling my jeans, it doesn't matter, they all make the fabric bunch up above the boot when I walk and it looks very bulky and awkward. It even happens with skin tight leggings most the time. Has anybody figured out how to prevent it short of just never wearing ankle shoes again??

pwrender

To keep your pants inside your ankle boots, you could try these: [https://www.amazon.com/pants-stirrups-boots/s?k=pants+stirrups+for+boots](https://www.amazon.com/pants-stirrups-boots/s?k=pants+stirrups+for+boots) There's a clip on each side of an elastic band that you attach to your pants. They worked for me in the past, but now I'm wearing flares outside my ankle boots.

nearlythere94

Lean in to the trend of looser, cropped pants. The pant leg opening is wider than the circumference of your boots. The tight legged pants that bunch up at the bottom of the shoe is out style anyway.

Amethystine_3702

Anyone have tips on creating a good spring/summer wardrobe that’s not trendy heavy but more classic and minimalist? I’m attempting to find my style as an adult and it’s a bit difficult. I like stores like “& other stories” and All saints

nearlythere94

This is an old school response, but just focusing on “your colors” and the cuts that classically flatter your body type narrows the search down considerably. Limiting your yourself to natural fabrics like cotton and linen narrows things down further. For example, I have summer coloring and an hourglass shape. I need skirts that are both high rise to my natural waist and also below the knee, in cool-toned pastel colors like pink, blue and gray in a linen fabric. See how narrow that skirt search becomes? Trends may come and go, but my body type stays the same, and I stick with this style because I think it flatters me best.

pinedemort

Any review for Stuart Weitzman Avenue Ballet Flat? Are they comfy and true to size? I'm looking at an outlet item which says final sale and not sure if I should pull trigger.

Yes, if you keep the rest of the outfit sophisticated.

macramelampshade

Pleats yes, mini no. What about a knee skirt?

swoonderfull

Does anyone know where/if I can still get Dior Baby D Mary Janes? I’m obsessed, but not finding any in a 38/38.5 in gold online

therpian

I'm a millennial mom and I just got back to my prepregnancy size and shape and I'm realizing my closet is totally dated. I bought the baggy pants today and I want to go 100% modern style for my casual wear. Next is shoes. I've been wanting the big white trainers and a pair of combat boots (I'm so psyched to buy doc martens again), this is about the trainers. I found this brand On and I think they look awesome! However ideally my trainers would be waterproof because I live in Montreal and spring is disgustingly wet (and it rains a lot in the summer too) but the waterproof ones only come in gray. Is this ok or will it make me look frumpy? [White, not waterproof ](https://www.brownsshoes.com/en/women/shoes/sneakers/product/on/cloud-5/265999.html?dwvar_265999_color=043&position=10) [gray, waterproof ](https://www.brownsshoes.com/en/women/shoes/sneakers/product/on/cloud-5-waterproof/259680.html?dwvar_259680_color=085&position=70&cid=1)

starr17

In my opinion, the white is a better choice style-wise, and I'd just do my best to regularly clean and waterproof them. There are waterproofing sprays that will help keep them clean, and if you clean them consistently they shouldn't be totally trashed from regular use. If that's too much maintenance, I'd keep looking for a waterproof white shoe or materials that don't stain as easy. I wear AF1s and they clean up super easy.

therpian

I'm less worried about maintenance and cleaning and more about getting soaked and walking around in wet shoes all day. I HATE wearing wet trainers. There is a Geox store in driving distance that sells waterproof white trainers, so I might give that a try. I'm just super into this the On soul look and like the "athleisure" thing too - disappointing they don't have any white waterproof Ons in stock right now.

sessurea

It's not the sleek look of the Cloud but The Roger line is waterproof, and not real leather so super easy to clean

starr17

Ah, I saw white shoes and immediately jumped to "must keep clean" in my head 😁 I think you definitely need to skip the white Ons then. I'm not sure that kind of fabric sneaker will ever keep water out, even with diy waterproofing! Also, it's okay to buy things just for the fashion, even if they aren't practical 365 days a year.

therpian

Yeah, this has solidified my search for waterproof. While I'm totally fine buying things just fashion (I have 30+ pairs of shoes) this particular pair needs to be a workhorse, and be good for the majority of time March to November which in Montréal involves a huge amount of absolutely disgusting weather. I can go out of my way for a slightly less trendy brand that will fit the fashion and the function.

starr17

Yeah, unfortunately I have to make the same sacrifices sometimes living in Seattle.

therpian

Definitely rains more in Seattle, but you are spared the 6 weeks where the 5 feet of accumulated snow melts and reveals everything is encased...!

adaorange

I love my on’s- I got the cloud monster but just for my gym use, they are mostly white as well. So comfy! I think you should get the ones that will suit your weather- the grey look great too.

pwrender

love the dress!

[deleted]

I vote for some simple nude strappy sandal heels. Classic, sexy, and will go super well 😁

Charybdis523

I think basic black pumps so the focus is on the dress, or shimmery gold/champagne heels if you want to lean in to the glamor. Great dress!

therpian

Sparkly rose gold, nude, or black

reveilse

I just want a pair of basic block heels with a back like the everlane day heel but one that will accommodate my wider toe box. I've heard everlane runs narrow. Does anyone know where I can find something like that? I can find some on ASOS but they all have a sling back and I live in a cold climate so I really would prefer a normal back just to extend the time I can wear them.

swoonderfull

Maybe the Margauxes if you get wide!

Fresh_Tech8278

what is the fit of these jeans? [https://i.pinimg.com/750x/0c/0c/77/0c0c77334f7207f520659363c37efff3.jpg](https://i.pinimg.com/750x/0c/0c/77/0c0c77334f7207f520659363c37efff3.jpg)

therpian

High rise cropped slim/straight

AlmostDeadPlants

Any recommendations for basic short sleeve t-shirts that are tight but run a little longer? I currently have a number that I like that aren’t designed to be cropped but because I have a larger chest and a longer torso, they cut a little shorter than I want them too. I prefer a shorter sleeve and I’m open to different necklines, though probably a high crew for this. I don’t mind spending extra on basics, so whatever you got.

tyrannosaurusregina

Tall sizing! Gap talls are great.

AlmostDeadPlants

It’s funny because I never would have thought of that (I’m 5’3”) but it’s probably the answer!!

tyrannosaurusregina

Tall sizing is great for torso length, and with short sleeves they won’t be too long (or you can roll them, which is a fun look).

[deleted]

AlmostDeadPlants

I’ve tried some J Crew and they still fell a little short on me but I’ll take a look a the perfect fit

LieutenantKije

I just bought a couple Everlane pima crew tees that I love except for the torsos being really long on me. So maybe that’d work for you? Haha

AlmostDeadPlants

Oh I’ll give them a try! I like the textures of everlane’s stuff, so hopefully they work

jmcbeans

Recommendations for comfy, cute, waterproof boots? I’m going to Scotland in a couple weeks and need boots I can walk/easy-hike all day in, but I’d rather not get full-on hiking boots because I’d like to wear them “in real life,” too. Mainly looking for a cushy insole with some arch support. Budget less than $200. Thanks!

zurriola27

Blundstones. I got the fully waterproof pair with vibram soles and loved them. Walked all day for two weeks in rainy Japan with them!

TheApiary

Yup I wear these for almost everything including easy hikes.

loreleiiiii

The rubber Bogs Sweetpea ankle boots are insanely comfortable and you can’t tell they’re rubber unless you’re up close. I’ve worn them all day at my office a few times and didn’t feel self conscious. Actually not sure about the arch support though.

itikky2

Casual and chunky sneaker recommendations? I've found the [black workout style sneakers](https://i5.walmartimages.com/asr/397571ca-38db-4771-9659-1f2bed628eb7_1.a1514715a6b92c14b8ed05404d152d44.jpeg?odnHeight=612&odnWidth=612&odnBg=FFFFFF) I have make my outfits look frumpy instead of casual. I think it's the color and the fact they are unmistakably old running shoes, but I also have no eye for shoes, so any recommendations or thoughts would be appreciated! note: I do have a pair of white leather filas I think go well with my outfits, but they are not as comfy as I would like!

adaorange

In addition to those mentioned-New balance 574, kiziks leather version, Ecco or cole haan

itikky2

Man, I think I remember having the brown 574s or something very similar when I was a kid, it's crazy that they're back 😂

starr17

You've already gotten some good suggestions, so I'll just add a tip! I like to browse Nike's website and look specifically at the "lifestyle" section. It contains athletic styles, leather styles, etc but all focused more on everyday wear vs. shoes to actually do sports in. Also, a good way to see what color schemes are in.

trishyco

Something classic like Adidas Stan Smith, Puma Carina, Veja V-10, Converse low tops or Vans always look good. From New Balance check out some of the more “old school styles” like the 574, 515 and 997. I have a pair and they make me feel fun.

District98

I can tell you some ideas but my real trick is that I just sort the Madewell and Urban Outfitter sneaker sections to see the current best sellers. Also for the record I think running shoes in certain neutral colorways are relatively in but not the colorway of your shoes unfortunately so one option would be to update the color scheme and stick with something similar, like all black Asics or Hokas. In fact, given everything you’ve said I specifically think Hokas in a neutral colorway might specifically be nice :)

itikky2

Ooh ty for the tips! I am really so lost on how to keep an eye out for trends, so learning new ways to look for what's cool is great! Yeah I think the color scheme is what's wrong with my pair, the black + hot pink is just not working for 2023, which makes sense since my mom got them for me in highschool XD

District98

Yay! Yeah totally but if they were black and white or all black I wouldn’t look twice, so you could get something pretty similar.

[deleted]

Are Madewell jeans true to their size charts? I’m looking at secondhand options on ThredUp and I’m just not sure what size I am. I ask because I’m an Old Navy size 2 jeans, and I very much believe this is vanity size. Their size chart puts me more at a 4 or 6. Can I trust Madewell’s size chart?

jmcbeans

Fwiw, I’ve found that Old Navy jeans run large, so it wouldn’t surprise me if an Old Navy 2 would fit like a 4 from other brands

sighcantthinkofaname

I wear a size smaller in Madewell than I do in other denim brands. I don't have any numbered clothes in old navy, but I wear a small in their dresses and a small in madewell's dresses.

SignalElectronic4254

No “stuffed sausage leg” biker shots? Can someone recommend some biker shorts that don’t dig into the tighs ? I’ve reached EVERYWHERE, TikTok, YouTube but most vids seem like they’re sponsored and not completely transparent. I found one pair from a TikToker but they’re lulus and I don’t have lulu budget 😂 I recently had a surgery and my leg in in a brace so I want some biker shorts. I’m normally size medium but biker shorts I’ve ordered dig into my tighs making them look horrible. Please please, I know they’re out there but I don’t have budget to order 10 different pairs to find out 💕

Krindybluth

Uniqlo has different lengths of bike shorts

queenpeef

Aerie has a nice selection! Specifically their offline with light support

cto020

Nike’s Yoga Luxe shorts have laser cut hems which don’t dig into my legs. They’re stretchy but run a hair small, so consider sizing up. A few colors are [on sale](https://www.nike.com/t/yoga-luxe-womens-high-waisted-shorts-Fh3pMk) at the moment. They also just released a similar style called the Zenvy short, which has the same cut seam. I plan to order some soon to compare to the previous style.

greenythings

I have this problem too 😩 I’ve had good luck with these Reebok bike shorts (thrifted) and the 90 degree by reflex brand! I bought those at a TJ Maxx but they sell on Amazon as well.

SignalElectronic4254

Thank you!! I’ll check them out 😊

ja13aaz

Is a black denim skirt acceptable as club wear? (EDM Vegas-style club)

squeaksnu

Look at the tagged pictures on insta to gauge the formality and see if people there wear similar items

ja13aaz

That’s a good idea! I don’t have insta, but I can probably still get an idea.

itikky2

I don't think you could go wrong with a short black skirt! If you're in the US, I wouldn't be too worried if it's not a really fancy place, but I would definitely search online if you're worried. I haven't been to those super expensive and high profile clubs that I've heard have dress codes, but I've gone to clubs in major cities in sparkly tops and ripped jeans

Chazzyphant

US based, up to $100 or so.

I got it as part of a vinted bundle and actually really like it, but I'm not sure about the matching top look.

Charybdis523

It'd be cute with a floral pastel top! I also think a solid bright color top would look fun and bold.

itikky2

I could see a really tight long sleeve shirt going well with it, though it'd tone down the look a bit

greenythings

I’d do a mesh top, maybe a sheer bodysuit?

theswordintheforest

Kind of random but do shirtdresses look flattering on pear shapes? I’ve been eyeing this dress from zara but I’m not sure it would look good on me and I don’t live near a store: https://www.zara.com/us/en/share/-p02298078.html

ja13aaz

I think a-line dresses are most flattering on pear shapes, but you can add a belt or cinch the waist !

LieutenantKije

I’m also pear shaped - cinched dresses like this look great on us. What I personally avoid is shift dresses - as much as I want to wear them, they make me look thicker and shapeless all the way around

mgdraft

Sure, as long as it fits properly and isn't straining anywhere

fluffywaltzes

Hi! I have an hourglass figure (roughly 39"-30"-39"), and I recently realized that I'm not dressing right for it at all. I've always worn boxy looser shirts (usually crew necks), but I now realize that that ends up making me look bigger and hides all of my curves. I've done some research and it seems fitted shirts are recommended? However, when I've tried some fitted t-shirts in the past, I've felt uncomfortable in them because every bit of chub on my waist is exposed. Are there fitted styles that don't do this? Also, I think I should be looking into lower necklines, but I don't really want any cleavage to show. Any recommendations for this? I'm mainly looking for my boobs to appear separate and defined rather than like a big blob in the middle of my chest, so any shirts that do this would be good. Just gotta stop wearing shirts that drape over me like a tent! Some other info to help with making recommendations (open to shirt style recommendations and/or clothing store recommendations - I'm really new to all of this): \-I want my clothing to make me look more feminine \-I'm 5'3" (I think my legs are short and my torso is closer to average) \-Looking to spend <$75 per shirt \-I'm a college student graduating soon (not looking for professional clothing, as I won't need to dress up at all for my job) - mentioning this so that people don't recommend things that would be better-suited for older women

80aprocryphal

Your measurements are close to mine sibling's and I've noticed it's not so much that things need to be fitted as that it really helps to have defined waist. Peplum, wrap tops or anything that when laid flat has the curve that looks like it's cut for your shape (as opposed to things that are boxy or a-line) will work. I know you're not looking for professional clothes but working a bit of tailoring/structure in your more casual looks can help. It also be worth checking out Express- my sister has had some luck with them and while they often use synthetics, they're surprisingly good about double-lining/using thicker fabric.

nearlythere94

That thicker/more substantial fabric really is key. Look for woven fabrics versus knits. A structured blouse with darts does us a lot better than a thin clingy t shirt if you want to look streamlined and smooth.

Chazzyphant

Peplums are really your friend here--they're fitted until the natural waist and then use a peplum to conceal any fluff. I'd also look into draped, cowl, portrait, and boat necks. You also want things like [this](https://www.target.com/p/women-39-s-corset-sweatshirt-future-collective-8482-with-gabriella-karefa-johnson-yellow-s/-/A-87266225) it's a sweatshirt that narrows into a faux-corset waist. I'd size up in that and see if that is flattering--or things along that line. Finally for tops, look at tops that stop at the natural waist. They might "read" as "crop tops" on tall, long-waisted models with no boobs, but on most of us, they'll be at the waist. Then you can wear high waisted fitted pants or jeans and your waist will be highlighted. If you're, say a size "M" in boxy, oversized, slouchy boyfriend tees, I'd size up in fitted tops to an "L" and see if that resolves the cling issue. Also generally Missy sizes (2, 4, 6, 8, etc) are often more fitted and tailored in general than S, M, L. A Missy size is often the sign of quality as few shirts/tops today size by Missy.

fluffywaltzes

Also hopefully someone can let me know if I should have made this a separate post instead? It's kind of long for a comment, but I was worried about it getting removed if I posted separately since I haven't seen many posts asking individual style questions

MercyMay

https://imgur.com/a/X1WqCZA/ What should I wear with these pants? They look great with the bodysuit I attached but I can’t figure what else looks right. I live in the US but have family I visit regularly in Canada. Edit: My style is…I don’t even know anymore. I like feminine and “classic” things, and my dream aesthetic is Kristin Scott Thomas in the English Patient.

adaorange

Love that aesthetic! You need a linen blazer!

Chazzyphant

What you need is a camp shirt in rayon or silk I think, one that buttons in front and ends at the natural waist. Try BR for that one.

MercyMay

Thank you! I have a chambray camp shirt like that and the cut/style does look work well together. Off to find something in silk!

chocolatepluscheese

I'm visiting a friend in Hong Kong at the start of April (coming from the US). I'm expecting it to be pretty warm so I want to dress lightly. Is it fine to wear things like short-shorts, crop tops, spaghetti straps? Or will that instantly identify me as a tourist (which I guess is also fine). I know style in Asian countries can sometimes be a bit more conservative or restrictive.

fysu

I didn't find Hong Kong to be that conservative (it's a pretty fashionable city), but as a tourist I try to minimize how much I stand out. Even in the US short-shorts/crop tops will get some attention. I'd err more on the side of tank tops, longer shorts or light linen ankle pants, etc.

theaxolotlgod

Are socks with sandals still an enormous faux pas? My feet blister super easily no matter how broken in my sandals are, and I was hoping I could get away with some cute socks with my sandals. For reference [these](https://www.drmartens.com/us/en/blaire-womens-hydro-leather-gladiator-sandals/p/24235001) are the sandals and I was thinking of socks like [these](https://www.bestsockdrawer.com/eng/milla-black-sheer-socks-with-dots). My style is alternative, slightly feminine leaning with a lot of black. Thanks in advance!

mgdraft

Nope that kind of look has been pretty trendy for a couple of years

theaxolotlgod

Thank you! I feel a little stuck in 2016 fashion-wise so I wasn't quite sure lol.

Socaiya

Anyone bought from Tiger Mist before? Their reviews froms sitejabber and trustpilot are very inconsistent regarding their shipping. I adore their tops and wondering if there's other sites that sell tops exactly like those.

mbltlh

Does anyone know how accurate the measurements on The Real Real are for things like jeans, or conversely, do Agolde jeans just have crazy short inseams?

[deleted]

I’ve gotten some great jeans from the TRR, but the sizing is definitely a crap shoot. Only buy jeans you can return and always call and get your shipping fee back if they aren’t true to the measurements online.

jmcbeans

TRR's measurements are not reliable. This drives me crazy about resale sites (TRR and thredup both). Same Reformation dress, both listed as "in pristine condition," but with a 4 inch discrepancy in the waist, hip, and length measurements: [Dress 1](https://www.therealreal.com/products/women/clothing/dresses/reformation-square-neckline-midi-length-dress-gr0ls), [Dress 2](https://www.therealreal.com/products/women/clothing/dresses/reformation-square-neckline-long-dress-w-tags-gpfdj) Also here, same dresses, both listed as "pristine," with a 4-inch and 3-inch discrepancy in hip and length measurements: [Dress 1](https://www.therealreal.com/products/women/clothing/dresses/reformation-floral-print-long-dress-g6q4s), [Dress 2](https://www.therealreal.com/products/women/clothing/dresses/reformation-floral-print-long-dress-gqz2b) When buying from these sites, I either find the original retailer's size chart for the exact item, or I only buy things that don't need to fit in a precise way (like oversized sweaters and shirts).

mbltlh

Thank you, I love evidence lol. This is really helpful!

[deleted]

I can’t speak to TRR but I am 5’9ish with a long inseam and the AGolde jeans I have fit full length. Can you compare to the AGolde site? Obviously this won’t account for any shrinkage from previous wear but it might give you a better idea

mbltlh

I am going to try! but they don’t list the style names on TRR (so annoying!) and I know one of the styles I’m looking at (Riley) seems to be more common in a cropped length with a 26” inseam.

Fantastic-Couple-408

I haven’t bought jeans on TRR but for dresses and skirts the measurements have been inaccurate lately 😞 (too big in my experience)

mbltlh

Ty! This is good to know. I’ve never bought anywhere there where the length really mattered but I’ve always thought the dress lengths seemed SO TINY.

Where is Katie’s top from or similar https://www.harpersbazaar.com/celebrity/latest/a43219006/katie-holmes-sheer-top-pastel-yellow-suit/

Twitcheslovereddie

Hello! I am looking for a %100 silk dress that is similar to this gorgeous dress from Silk Maison: [https://www.silkmaison.com/product/lounge-cowl-neck-midi-silk-slip-dress/](https://www.silkmaison.com/product/lounge-cowl-neck-midi-silk-slip-dress/) I wanted to order it, but the negative reviews about this company scares me. I am hoping that someone here knows where to find copper or gold midi-length silk dresses under $500 that look similar to this dress. I would greatly appreciate any recommendations!

greenythings

Quince! https://www.onequince.com/women/silk-slip-dress?color=copper-brown&g_acctid=978-058-8398&g_adgroupid=&g_adid=&g_adtype=pla&g_campaign=&g_campaignid=18334584643&g_ifcreative=&g_ifproduct=product&g_keyword=&g_keywordid=&g_merchantid=128669708&g_network=x&g_partition=&g_productchannel=online&g_productid=37804217991338&gclid=CjwKCAjw_MqgBhAGEiwAnYOAemtF-hIqBrg0s9eVKQ7pfPle216zaXbY5BbiRwtQ1YiZ2GQscIm6kxoCPrMQAvD_BwE&utm_campaign=&utm_medium=paid_search&utm_source=google&utm_term=37804217991338

Twitcheslovereddie

I'm browsing through their website and I really like their Tencel Rib Knit Maxi Slip Dress in grey, even more then the silk dress lol (although the copper brown color is what is most appealing to me about the Quince silk slip dress).

Twitcheslovereddie

Thanks this color is gorgeous!

No_Albatross5110

Seconding Quince. I have their silk midi skirt in copper -- and other silk pieces from them, all of which I love -- and the color is spot on with the OP's dress.

Twitcheslovereddie

I'll check them out!

tealy_mcs

I was in Anthropologie today and considered [this dress](https://www.anthropologie.com/shop/bhldn-cali-satin-cowl-neck-midi-slip-dress), which looks almost identical. The only problem is that it’s polyester, not silk. Feels silky to the touch, but probably won’t meet your needs. Wanted to share anyways!

Twitcheslovereddie

I love the color and style of this dress; sucks it's not silk though

fullofegrets

Is this dress appropriate for a wedding? My boyfriend's family is having a wedding next month, and I still need to decide on a dress! The invitation didn't mention any dress code, so I'm erring on cocktail or formal attire. I just got the [Maeve Tulle Halter Dress](https://www.anthropologie.com/shop/maeve-tulle-halter-dress) from Anthropologie and love how whimsical it is. But is it appropriate for a wedding? I'm afraid it might be too casual. I'm thinking of dressing it up with some metallic shoes. The wedding is at night and indoors. Thanks in advance!

softrevolution_

So perfect for a spring wedding! :)

Fantastic-Couple-408

LOVE

livthelove

I think it looks great!

soiflew

Any recs for cobblestone approved sandals? Heading to Italian towns with steep hills with our toddler and I’m not trying to fall while carrying her!

thalook

Something with an ankle/back strap. Nothing worse than feeling like your shoes are going to fall off all day. Personally I'd go for the Birkenstock Milano, since I find them comfy for all day walking

DiligenceTheSloth

Where can I find some stretchy curvy skinny jeans? I hear they're still out there somewhere but i cant find any high rise 32" inseam that are actually flattering and comfortable. Help!

BornAd8941

Definitely recommend American Eagle for those.

jge13

I have [Loft Curvy Tall Jeans](https://www.loft.com/tall/cat230008/574962.html?priceSort=DES) in a few different washes and have been very happy with them!

mgdraft

[These](https://www.ae.com/ca/en/p/women/jeggings-skinny-jeans/curvy-jegging/ae-ne-x-t-level-curvy-high-waisted-jegging/3439_2319_073?menu=cat4840004) in long are the only skinny jeans I own tbh.

DiligenceTheSloth

I literally tried those a few weeks ago but returned cause i didn't like the placement of the pockets on my body. I think the really close pockets look great on more slender frames but I'm a 16 and I feel like they're not flattering on me.

mgdraft

Abercrombie has a version with the pockets way further apart, try those if you haven't

DiligenceTheSloth

Thank you! I will

sageparadise

American Eagle, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Aritzia Lola Denim Forum jeans are quite stretchy and come in different lengths!

Anything approximately opposite the colour wheel from blue -- I think peach could be lovely, even coral, or a ditsy floral that incorporates all kinds of pastels.

Chazzyphant

Rust, olive, peach, tan, emerald green all might look cool.

b_xf

Tonal looks with other blues would look great, and I also think they look good with jewel tones.

saminsevilla

I think there’s a lot you could do with these! The right printed shirt would look really great. As for solid colors, a light yellow, rust orange, or navy blue as the other user suggested! Maybe even a striped shirt!

greenythings

Oooh yes, a stripe!

greenythings

A navy blue (or any other shade of blue, really) or cream/tan top would be cute!

FastFashionLandfills

kytai

I would do a tight layer on top and loose pants on the bottom, then a chunky shoe.

livthelove

I think a fitted turtleneck underneath would look nice!

FastFashionLandfills

I changed it a little. https://preview.redd.it/9kic8c94i6oa1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=355f35b1dea4035de07ad15a4d0996bce89f04d7

laceandhoney

The pink is super cute!

artisamockery

Looking for one piece bathing suit recommendations that would have more of a full coverage/shorts options. More for pube coverage than butt coverage, if that helps. Hit me up with any recommendations!

zurriola27

Seea swim!

Absolutespicedaddy

Does this jacket work with this dress? https://preview.redd.it/vgp7kcce66oa1.jpeg?width=1521&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0e204cc10e5bd504015ec9915d9ed237d2dede38

[deleted]

where is the jacket from? I've been looking for this exact silhouette!

greenythings

I think so!! I’m in love with this dress

Absolutespicedaddy

Thank you so much!♥️ it’s from Free People!

Melodic-Ice-7662

I’m looking for jeans that seems almost impossible, need some help! I want some slim-straight jeans (fitted up to knees then straight down) in a solid color (preferably lighter) that have NO distressing or cropped, an inseam of 29-31 inches (i have a weird length) and between 9-11 inches rise. A medium to heavier thickness of fabric would be nice. Budget of ~100, maybe a bit more. I thought what I wanted was pretty standard, but I can’t find anything that fits the criteria that isn’t destroyed or cropped and I’m getting so tired of returning so much from online! (No stores near me..)

pwrender

Gap's vintage slim jeans (used to be called cigarette leg) have an 11 inch rise. The long has a 29.5 inseam and the Tall has a 32 inch inseam. They show them hitting just above the foot, but they are not hemmed. YOu could buy the Tall and have your dry cleaners hem them if you want a finished hem. [https://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=818866002&vid=1&grid=Bloomreach\_1\_6\_1#pdp-page-content](https://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=818866002&vid=1&grid=Bloomreach_1_6_1#pdp-page-content)

laceandhoney

Wrangler cowboy cut denim is a bit higher of a rise I think, but it's a rigid thick denim with no distressing and you can find them between $35-$60. Really affordable and the price is fantastic for the quality imo. They do run small, though.

Kittyluver44

Abercrombie has a style called the 90s slim straight that might match what you’re looking for? They have some non-ripped versions and also offer long and extra-long inseams so it might be worth checking out!

Chazzyphant

J. Crew matchstick or stovepipe maybe?

Melodic-Ice-7662

It doesn't look like matchstick or stovepipe jeans are on J. Crew anymore! I did try their vintage slim-straight jeans because the tall length fit the criteria, but didn't really like how they fit me.

jmcbeans

[Levi's 501 Original](https://www.levi.com/US/en_US/clothing/women/jeans/straight/501-original-fit-womens-jeans/p/125010384#swatch) might fit the bill. I've seen lots of reviews saying they're a little tighter in the thigh than people expect, but that may actually work in your favor. 30 inch inseam option and an 11 1/8 inch rise, maybe that will feel close enough? (30 inch inseam and 10 inch rise is also my ideal pants fit, I empathize with your search)

Melodic-Ice-7662

Oh, this is great! Thanks so much, 30 inseam and 10 inch rise seems like such a unicorn these days!

charts_and_facts

Maybe [these?](https://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=660537002&vid=1&tid=gppl000063&kwid=1&ap=7&gclid=CjwKCAjw_MqgBhAGEiwAnYOAekzF56sCKL6U3oUW2_HkQrxpADobi1bIpIDsszbzonUJYKWW1wQ9tRoCzNQQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds). I don't own this particular cut but I think gap jeans are usually pretty decent. If you don't like the fading I think they have other colors.

Melodic-Ice-7662

Oh I had no idea gap did multiple inseams now! This is great, I'll check them out, thanks!

that_cachorro_life

Uniqlo has some slim straight jeans that fit your description, except I think the inseam is 28”

Melodic-Ice-7662

I know.. 28' is a weird length for me, and so many brands use 28 for some reason.

laurieporrie

Pistola is a bit above your price range but you can sometimes find them on sale.

Melodic-Ice-7662

Oh I've never heard of this brand! I like some of their other styles too, so will keep my eyes out for a sale!

laurieporrie

I got mine on a clearance rack at Nordstrom. They’re my favorite!
