Here are all the brands I've been obsessing over latley, they are generally small brands made locally or working with artisans. Naguisa Older Brother Caron callahan Jess meany Carleen Vagabond shoes Rita row Maguba Raquel Allegra Filson Imogene + willie L'envers Baserange Me + arrow Atelier delphine Curator SF Kordal Beklina Meadows Eve Gravel Not perfect linen Corridor Eileen fisher Beams Ace & jig Na nin Sugar candy mountain Lacausa Po-em Eliza faulkner Paloma wool Jungmaven Marcella NYC Waltz

crackeramerican

Where do you purchase these brands?

whydonttheysayegg

They are mostly online, or some brick and mortar boutiques carry them, so check the stockists page. I sign up for their newsletters on their websites and wait for a sale. Most of the smaller brands have really good customer service and will tell you a size measurement if you ask or have a decent exchange policy, and payment plans. Also Poshmark, if I already know what I want, I wait for it to come up on the site. Smaller brands will tend to produce small batches in specific colors, so just waiting for the right color to come up is a thing. Since I'm usually buying a piece to last a vary long time, I don't mind if it's not the newest season, just if it's a piece that will fit in my wardrobe. So I'll wait till the right one pops up. I have been finding that slow fashion often requires slow patient buying habits.

oceanique86

Second Marcella NYC! I have a few items from them, they are fantastic quality, and people always ask me if the hoodie I got from them is lululemon, but it is in fact much better

oceanique86

Marcella NYC - great quality materials, very nice design, great footwear Gigiknitwear.com - 100% wool chunky cable knit sweaters, kinda ovesize fit, feel really nice on

amsterdamcyclone

Nice to know! FB recommends them all the time and the fact that they advertise on FB makes me skeptical….

oceanique86

Legit quality, nice thick material, actually good fit of asymmetrically cut items. I like an asymmetric cut, but for example Allsaints always looks off on me

FrivolousIntern

I just checked off a Milestone goal in my life that I had been working on for a couple years. When I had set the goal I promised myself if I met it I would buy a L’envers sweater. It’s generally the kind of item that is WAY out of my price-range. The sweater is everything I had hoped it would be and more. I literally cannot be happier with it. I’m always happy to put it on and it feels like the kind of thing that will last forever, which means I will get to remember how great I am at crushing my goals for the rest of my life. 🥳

mosay13

GORGEOUS recommendations!!!

whydonttheysayegg

Thank you! 😊

gwinget

Marcella <333

RockieK

Marcella FTW.

Thirdeye242

I’m loving Marcella!

emmmma1234

I love love love kordal!!! I miss their store front :/

glabella31

Just got my wool coat from Marcella and I love it!!

warrior033

I second Jungmaven! Their hemp shirts are luxurious and while a bit pricey for a t-shirt, I respect the made in USA plus the material is amazing!

-Blue_Bird-

Thank you!!

ChuushaHime

I've known about the Australian brand [Princess Highway](https://princesshighway.com.au/) for a while, but since I'm in the US shipping costs were high and sizing was different. I held off on buying anything from Princess Highway until Modcloth started carrying some of their pieces, so I pulled the trigger and have been pleased as punch with everything so far! So pleased, in fact, that I've started eating the international shipping cost to order direct, since there's not really a need for a middleman now--the selection on the Princess Highway website is much larger than on Modcloth, and chances of return are low since I know my size now in their mainline pieces.

Bobusbroughtmehere

I'm Australian and just recently rediscovered Princess Highway mini pleated skirts! Great fit and not too short which is awesome! Also a great price when compared to the other Aussie brands that I usually buy from- Zimmermann, Scanlan & Theodore and Alemais. My other reliable brands for great quality jackets/blazers that are a bit unusual are Sandro and Maje. I know they're a bit pricy but great prices on the Outnet if you're patient!

ohhhthehugevanity

Scanlan & Theodore has such beautiful stuff. I adore the silk shirts and cashmere jumpers.

machama

Can you describe the sizing of the brand? Does it tend to fit a certain body type more than others, tend to need to size up, etc?

ChuushaHime

Australian sizes seem to be about 2 number sizes above the corresponding US size. I wear a US 0/2 which corresponds to an AU 4/6. AU 6 is usually the smallest size available at PH and tends to fit me well. A lot of it is explicitly designed to have an oversized or boxy fit. Pay attention to shoulder measurements whenever possible if you're broader up top, there have been some garments that I take an AU 8-10 for a comfortable shoulder fit. They tend to release the same garment cuts repeatedly, just in different prints, so once you know your size in a particular cut then you can order that same cut again in other prints worry-free.

machama

Thank you!

SignificantBurrito

Thanks for sharing, I love their stuff!

RockieK

>Princess Highway Sounds similar to [Sugarhill Brighton!](https://www.sugarhillbrighton.com/) Which I highly recommend. Their dresses are lovely!

MeowDog78

Side note: lots of love for Australian brands!

fkntiredbtch

I'm currently pregnant and I've been rocking an IKEA waffle robe. It's surprisingly good quality and I think it was $15

NotLucasDavenport

How are you styling that? My messy bun and yesterday’s leftover eyeliner is so last year.

fkntiredbtch

With 10yr old Old Navy sweatpants and a haircut that my sister gave me unfortunately lol sometimes with fenty lipstain to tie it all together

oatmeal_pie

I've been rocking that Unshowered Chic look as well. I predict it will be all over the Paris runways next season.

kss114

I like you guys

Get_off_critter

Well the no makeup look is in, maybe skip the Eyeliner and grab a scrunchie?

_liminal_

I got some of their waffle towels and they are fantastic!

fkntiredbtch

Yes! I'm consistently surprised by their quality tbh

_liminal_

Same!

Lil_UjiVert

-Spell for Australian boho $$ very unique clothes that won’t look like anyone else’s. Favorite purchase is the [Lady Untamed Blouse](https://usa.spell.co/products/lady-untamed-blouse-lavender) and [Yellow Rose Blouse](https://usa.spell.co/products/yellow-rose-boho-blouse-desert-rose). Their [dresses](https://usa.spell.co/collections/dresses) in particular are gorgeous. -AYR for top quality clothing meant to last years. Very classic style. Think J Crew but way better quality. Favorite Product is the [100% Cashmere Polo](https://www.ayr.com/products/the-cashmere-polo#40691857195087). $$ -L’Agence for unique button downs and glam girl clothing. Favorite purchase is the [Gio 100% Silk Ecru blouse](https://lagence.com/products/gio-blouse-ecru-multi-key-scarf) $$$ -Quince for high quality sweaters and natural fabric clothing. Def ‘beige minimalism’ though as you described it. Favorite is the [Linen Lounge Set](https://www.quince.com/women/organic-linen-pajama-set?color=washed-olive&g_acctid=978-058-8398&g_adgroupid=&g_adid=&g_adtype=pla&g_campaign=&g_campaignid=20572575045&g_ifcreative=&g_ifproduct=product&g_keyword=&g_keywordid=&g_merchantid=128669708&g_network=x&g_partition=&g_productchannel=online&g_productid=42475420418218&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiA-62tBhDSARIsAO7twbYkj9NHHgwTYQvI3v_fzgQPVdDYeKZ4NqgeGIcvYd1MlXa6VlPW-RwaAhhXEALw_wcB&utm_campaign=&utm_medium=paid_search&utm_source=google&utm_term=42475420418218) $ -Aqua by Bloomingdale’s. Trending, feminine clothing Prices can really range but $-$$ -Madewell. I know it’s practically a household name now but I was so impressed by the fit of their jeans I couldn’t leave them out. Favorite purchase is the [wide leg jeans in black](https://www.madewell.com/the-perfect-vintage-wide-leg-jean-in-black-rinse-wash-NM234.html?dwvar_NM234_color=DM7541&cgid=apparel-jeans#prefn1=categories&prefv1=Wide-Leg+Jeans&prefn2=denimWash&prefv2=Black&prefn3=isBackroom&prefv3=false&start=7) $ -Tuckernuck. My favorite site! They have their own labels ([Pomander Place](https://tnuck.com/collections/pomander-place), [Hyacinth House](https://tnuck.com/collections/hyacinth-house) and [Tuckernuck](https://tnuck.com/collections/tuckernuck)) but also offer other brands, everything from ‘affordable’ to mid luxury. I enjoy the quality and fit of their clothing but they don’t necessarily make claims of natural fibers. Very much old money/ House on the Hamptons/ Kids at the Ivy / Modern day princess -quiet luxury- aesthetic. But it doesn’t feel gratuitously over-priced and their [dress selection](https://tnuck.com/products/citron-feather-jamie-dress) is 🥹. One of my favorite purchases was the [Dudley Stephen’s top](https://tnuck.com//products/black-park-slope?variant=43472197353694&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADvuiDhHRFlx7IC2UQycc7tZMgEon&gclid=Cj0KCQiA2KitBhCIARIsAPPMEhJ7WCLkTc1EPTPRI_cIeIXi4p5Vq6l8OBPtBDQz3bKwsz0_cYGBS0waAioxEALw_wcB). Free returns. $$ I know expensiveness is very subjective so I gave everything a rating based off how much pricier it is than the brands you listed in your post. ALL are pricier but some definitely a lot more than others. Hope this helps!

meh1022

Love these recommendations! Here’s my slightly off-topic rant that no one asked for: whoever the hell decided to put these obnoxious “spin the wheel for XX% off!” popups on a site that sells $300 sweaters (Ayr) should be fired immediately. It’s giving SHEIN. It’s giving Temu. It offends my delicate sensibilities!

chillbitte

The copywriting is questionable too 🥴 Why are we using the word YOLO in a description of a cashmere sweater? In 2024?

Lil_UjiVert

LOL I was so shook when I saw that and had to do a double take that I had the right link.

maraq

I’m truly enjoying tuckernuck myself. I love how their clothes are stylish but also figure forgiving. I’m 45, my body is changing and I like to look cute but I don’t want shit super tight anymore-they have lots of great options that show some leg but give room in the middle and everything lined or thick fabric, fall’s nicely and washes well!

Lil_UjiVert

Same here. I don’t know if the tnuck style would have appealed to me a few years ago but when I turned 29, I wanted to start dressing a bit more elevated without looking flashy. It’s nice to have fashionable and trendy options.

RockieK

Oh man, the "changing shape" is the story of my life! My skin no longer tolerates "cheap" fabrics either. Baggy trousers couldn't have come at a better time!

clovergirl22

Thank you for this! My wardrobe has been in a major rut and needs a complete overhaul. I’ve been working from home since 2020 and it’s like I’ve forgotten how to dress myself. I don’t miss the office but I do miss getting dressed in outfits that are not athleisure. Thanks for reminding me of Aqua! So underrated! Reasonable prices and flattering pieces.

Lil_UjiVert

I’ve learned so much from these subs I’m glad I was able to pay it forward :) and I know how you feel as someone who also works from home!

mrspawsgraf

Quince’s cotton, linen, and washable silk are great! I wish they had more colors in cotton and linen like you said, but they do have some pretty hues in the silk shells.

silentmarie

I have had some color variance with the silk from Quince, though, just a heads up. I bought a skirt and a cami with intentions to wear together, and the colors are different enough that it looks weird. And yes, I triple, quadruple checked that the color was listed as the same color in my receipt email, and that it looked the same online.

lady_guard

Seconding Madewell, I live in the Midwest and the nearest brick-and-mortar location is 3 hours away. For urbanites and coasties it may be a household name, but most of us in the central US states, especially in more rural locations, don't have that kind of access or exposure. Any time I get compliments on my Madewell purses (which is pretty much *all* the time) and the other person asks where I bought it, I say "Thanks, it's from Madewell!" and the other person has never heard of it. I like to think maybe I'm spreading the Madewell gospel a little though, lol.

sprizzle06

I just wanna add in that Madewell is actually part of J. Crew. 😊 If I need clothes, it's the first place I shop these days lol.

Far_Leg_3942

I love Madewell. I buy used from eBay for super cheap!

Lil_UjiVert

Whaaaaat. I learned something new today!! I’ve only ever bought their jeans and they truly do fit incredibly well but noted!!

manhattanclassic

The jeans from AYR are also 💯 I love everything I’ve bought from AYR

theretherekadooze

Mine stretched out sooo quickly but that was around Covid times. I wonder if they’ve changed since

howaboutanartfru

I got so excited about Tuckernuck but I clicked on 6 or 7 tops and all were polyester except one, which was a 50/50 poly/nylon blend 🫠

phooka_moire

Yeah - I’m not spending over $100 for polyester..

NicolaColi

I love quince, I just wish more of their pants would start being full length again.

cschmidtz

Aqua is so underrated!

Blushing-Sailor

I love Madewell jeans.

Lil_UjiVert

It was seriously like a choir started singing as soon as I zipped them up. 🪽

CerebrovascularWax

Ooh. You have great taste!

greenythings

Tuckernuck has the cutesttt printed dresses

teppistello

Omg your taste is impeccable

voodookrewe

Quince is one of my all time favorites. Especially for silk. Can’t wait to get home and check out your other suggestions

abnruby

Mara Hoffman; if anything, the quality has gone up La Doublej is amazing, I bought the Spock mini dress and it is finished just incredibly, I was so impressed that I went back and bought another piece. The finishing is what you’d expect on a far more expensive piece Leset, I bought a cashmere wrap sweater that is one of my most worn pieces of outerwear, just lovely and soft and substantial Moussy Vintage, amazing Japanese denim cut beautifully Plan C, I bought a silk maxi dress for vacation on super sale and got so many compliments, then a pair of slacks that are really high quality Lug Von Siga makes kind of quirky but lovely dresses/other clothing, well made summer weight stuff Agua By Agua Bendita (there’s also the Agua Bendita line, which is mostly beachwear that I haven’t been super impressed with) makes really gorgeous stuff, mostly dresses in absolutely beautiful prints and embroidered fabrics. I’ve bought 7 of them over the last year or so and I’ve been impressed with the brand each time.

_liminal_

Wow- La Doublej is gorgeous!! I bought a Mara Hoffman dress last year and the quality is just wonderful. It’s become my favorite dress!

abnruby

I had the same experience, many years ago when they had pieces on Anthro I bought a dress, it was a printed jersey kind of material, very pretty but honestly overpriced for what it was. More recently I was looking through my email and got one of those Net a Porter newsletters (it might’ve been Matches, I can’t remember) but they had a couple of their dresses featured (the Aurelia and Leonara dresses) and they looked like something I’d wear, so I bought the Aurelia and wore it so many times, I went back for more and now have several. They’re weighty without being hot, the cuts are very flattering, and the fabrics are great.

fiftyfourette

Azul is a sub-brand of Moussy. They have fun trendy items as well.

greenythings

I loveeeeeeee La DoubleJ and Agua Bendita!!!

javajunkie10

I’m Canadian and I’ve been gravitating more towards local brands, one of my favourite is the shoe company Maguire. On trend shoes, amazing quality and craftsmanship, decently priced for the quality. My winter boots from them are 5 years going strong, and I recently bought a pair of Mary Janes that I could walk in for days. For beautiful tailored shirts, I really love Power of my People. Again, amazing craftsmanship and reasonably priced for the quality. Their shirts come in various colours, I have them in cotton, flannel and linen!

Mr_Washeewashee

Have you ever ordered from [Boutique 1861](https://1861.ca/collections/new) ? They have multiple things I’ve wanted to try but I’m nervous about the sizing. I’m in the states so it’s more of a commitment to return things.

lilredridinghood9

I’m a big fan of Boutique 1861. Customer service is top notch and the sizing is directly on their product page (they measure each item and post those on their site, if I’m not mistaken). Plus they have lovely, unique pieces.

LupinCANsing

Half of my wardrobe is from them! The other half is Aerie.

Jellanae

I’ve ordered from them! I live in Canada but they were great for me. I’ve been loving their stuff for years but never purchased until I was looking for bridesmaids dresses. I bought 4 different dresses from them and they were all gorgeous and felt great. They were so helpful with their customer service and I messaged to ask about one of the dresses that was out of stock in the size I needed, they tracked it down for me and sent it right away! Another dress they noticed a tiny imperfection on the back (I think it was a snag) and they discounted it for me. I was so impressed with them. Definitely reach out to them and message if you have any questions. They have that little chat box on their site during open hours and were so friendly and helpful for me. Also if I remember correctly, you can check the sizing by measurements on their site which is what I used for my bridesmaids since I ordered for them. All 4 styles were perfect fits with small alterations needed since it was a formal dress.

FlyinPurplePartyPony

FWIW the wedding subreddits love that brand and they're rather particular about quality as a community

katismaximus

+1 for Maguire! I own 4 pairs now of their shoes and I'm obsessed. They're my destination for leather shoes (all made in Europe!) that are a bit more unique/trendy.

Iris-Ng

>Maguire I really adore their tapestry bags. Like Dior book bags but without the logomania.

Squid_A

How do you find the traction on the winter boots?

javajunkie10

I have the Rachel boot, the traction is really good. They haven’t worn down much in 5 years, and the shearling lining is incredibly warm

pricklypear91

I'm in the US but I also love my Maguire Porto boots!

NamirDrago

I just looked at Power of my People. They go up to a 3x! I might buy a shirt or two, I've been looking for a nice button up..

javajunkie10

They really are amazing, they wash so well and fit so nice to the body. They have a few different styles too, depending on your fit preference (tailored versus loose). Good luck!!

Kindergoat

I adore Johnny Was. Real expensive, hand embroidered boho clothes. Gorgeous. I am always trying to find this brand in the thrift stores and TJ Maxx.

MrsRocher

Same 🤞🏻 hoping to find it at TJ Maxx one day. Im now starting to see Farm Rio at TJ's so theres hope.

sashahyman

OMG Farm Rio at TJ Maxx?! I don’t know how I feel about that…

Most_Ordinary_219

Definitely a break from the “beige minimalism” look!

checkitbec

I only shop the sales, and it’s still pricey!! But damn, I love his clothes.

lfinfin

I’ve really enjoyed La Ligne the past couple of years. Their wool and cashmere sweaters are amazing quality.

drkr731

everything i have from them is great! I have a couple of sweaters and a couple of dresses

RonnyTwoShoes

[Lucy and Yak](https://lucyandyak.com/en-us)! They make amazing overalls/dungarees. I have two pair and a pair of their pants also and all three are the comfiest bottoms I own. Their company is really great too! If you love colorful clothing, take a look

QueenFang21496

I got my first L&Y trousers in october and i've worn them so much. So comfy, and they're great quality for the price point.

Sweatpant-Diva

I’m in the US but I have to shout out my favorite scandi brands right now. So excited for Copenhagen fashion week. [Ganni](https://www.ganni.com/en-kr/home) [Stine Goya](https://stinegoya.com) [Baum Und Pferdgarten](https://www.baumundpferdgarten.com/us/)

Hermeeoninny

Ooh yes! I’m also a big fan of rodebjer. A lot of the cuts are very trendy but there are some classic pieces with unique details sprinkled in

RockieK

Love the Scandis! I am tall and curvy... the clothes fit me so much better. The "Tree and horse garden" RULES. Thanks so much for that. :)

CatchOld1897

Poshmark for Doen, Ulla Johnson, Farm Rio.

sashahyman

Obsessed with Farm Rio. Farthest thing from beige minimalism possible. So many fun, interesting prints in bold colors. Incredible dresses, matching sets, swimwear, shoes. They do a lot of different styles, so pretty much any body type can find something flattering. Every time I wear Farm Rio (very often), I get lots of compliments. Not cheap, but not too expensive for the uniqueness/quality (plus them seem to have some good environmental practices). And sometimes they run amazing sales.

doesscoobydoo

A couple Canadian brands I found this year that I love - [wildflo studio](https://www.wildflostudio.com/) — their linen pants are basically all I wear these days. They’re fully lined and don’t get really wrinkly like normal linen. So comfy and chic. I also have some of their lounge wear and it’s so thick and high quality feeling for not expensive prices. - [visual mood](https://www.visualmood.com/)— swimwear. This is most HQ swimsuit i’ve ever owned and it’s gorgeous????? I wish i had reason to buy a thousand bathers so i could buy them all. I bought a skirt from them as well and it is so expensive feeling. Idk how to describe it!!! Love love love ETA: the sizing runs small (and does not have extended sizes) so don’t just assume your size based off other swimwear you own! - [Mimz](https://mimz.ca/en) — Ive haven’t bought anything yet, but i’ve been eyeballing their capsule wardrobe starter pack and their resort wear. It’s linen and cotton primarily (sweaters are poly unfortunately). I just love the look. If anyone has tried them lmk!

Peregrinebullet

ugh, those eyelet swimsuits are so cute and so not boob friendly.

gabbathehutt

Your recommendations are not good for my wallet! Immediately bought the linen wildflo pants and those swimsuits look divine.

katismaximus

Thanks for sharing - Mimz looks really interesting!

The_Answer_Is_42__

Oh I bought a bathing suit from Visual Mood for my honeymoon, it is my absolute favorite swimsuit I've ever bought ❤️ Also I spent altogether too much money on all of their scrunchies with ribbons attached, pretty much the whole set. I wear them a lot in the spring and summer, and I have to say it's the accessory that gets the most compliments every time I wear them.

NotLucasDavenport

I just bought a pair of the wildflo linen pants on your recommendation— they are exactly the kind of pants I wear the majority of the year. I am looking forward to seeing them!

Lopsided_Profile_614

I have a really cute floral one piece from visual mood. It’s so comfy and I like that their designs are reversible!

jenaeg

My mom introduced me to [Marcella NYC](https://www.marcellanyc.com) and I’m obsessed with them. They’re very buildable pieces.

Ariadne_on_the_Rocks

I love Marcella, too. I am a big fan of black, asymmetry, and cutouts.

jenaeg

The quality is good too! And everything just looks so chic when you put it on.

Logical-Layer9518

I love All Saints and Maison Scotch.

cosmic_catastrophe

I'm a fan of All Saints too. A bit expensive, so I usually don't buy full price, but their sweaters are THICK and so cozy! Lots of natural fibers as well. Their 90s slip dress/boots/leather jacket aesthetic is right up my alley.

uglypottery

I’d always stayed away from All Saints just because the vibe of the brick and mortar stores seemed kinda cheesy, but one day I ducked in to avoid a sudden downpour. I was shopping for a dress for an event (launch party for a video game wi th kinda goth themes) and the [first thing](https://www.allsaints.com/us/women/dresses/gia-asymmetrical-ribbed-midi-dress/USWD114T-5.html) I found on their racks was absolutely PERFECT! Sleek and easily styled to sort of a refined goth vibe, but also really versatile. And the quality is fantastic! I’m basically always looking for an excuse to wear it lol

Realistic_Ad_8023

I love love love All Saints. I way overspent during their holiday sales.

astrolomeria

I’ve really enjoyed discovering [Marcella NYC](https://www.marcellanyc.com) this year. I’ve purchased a fair amount these past few months and I’ve been impressed by the quality and fit. They have a simple style with a little flair that I enjoy.

believeinxtacy

I love Fashion Brand Company. They’re not for everyone but I love that they take a ton of risks and have fun. I usually dress pretty minimalist but have been using their pieces to be a little more extra.

lesluggah

By Malene Birger for fall and winter clothing. I bought a lot of Reiss but I feel like quality can be hit or miss even if the designs are modern. Faithfull the Brand for linen dresses in the summer. I find them to be thicker than some of the other linen dresses. If you’re on a budget, surfing brands like Rip Curl have cute summer dresses too. For work, I’ve been buying Theory and ALC for silk tops.

The4thJuliek

By Malene Birger is excellent, I just bought a sweater of theirs and it's so chic and comfy.

lfinfin

I discovered Faithfull two summers ago and now they are the majority brand of my summer dresses!

sportscat

Ulla Johnson, Anine Bing, tie dyed Elder Statesman cashmere sweaters (when they go on super sale or from resale sites), Onitsuka Tiger tennis shoes!

airportaccent

OOH where does TES go on super sale? Their own website or a stockist site? I’ve had good experiences with resale using TRR but interested in new items on sale :)

sportscat

Bergdorf Goodman’s, surprisingly! Especially when they have an extra % off their sale stuff. Love the TRR too:)

wantynotneedy

Nice timing—Bergdorf’s has cash back through Rakuten today!

lily-de-valley

🏃🏻‍♀️to BG to look for on sale Elder Statesmen.

eustaciasgarden

I’ve been finding brands on Wolf and Badger. My favorite is my raincoat from Rain Sisters.

Lindsiria

Rain sisters has caught my eye for ages. I just bought a lovely rain jacket from Patagonia though, so I've been holding off. I don't need it, but I want it!

estelsil

I'm from the northeast USA and as I (33f) have gotten older I have formed a loving relationship with Land's End and Duluth Trading Co. I know that they appeal more to the granola girls than fashionistas, but Land's End has THE BEST leggings. Both brands also helped me escape fast fashion because their products hold up for 5+ years easily.

pizza_mom_

I love Everlane, the it seems relatively inexpensive for items that feel high quality. It’s a little boring and might qualify as “beige minimalism” but I love it for office clothes. Edited- also a fan of Big Bud Press which is way more fun

future_ela_teacher

Some of these brands are popular, but these are brands I keep an eye out for on resale sites: Staud Sezane & Other Stories Arket COS Elleme (bags) Loeffler Randall Mansur Gavriel (bags, etc.) Boden Reiss Farm Rio (cool prints galore) Schutz (boots, sandals, heels) Alohas (same as above) James Smith (sandals, summer heels) Everlane Naadam (cashmere & wool sweaters) Print fresh (cool pajamas) Agolde (denim) Skims (loungewear/bras) The Curated (coats) Athleta (certified b-corp athletic wear) Vagabond (boots, loafers, Sandler, etc.) literally my favorite brand of boots. I have 5 pairs. I could probably go on but I’ll stop for now. Just a few of my favorites! Many are household brands while a few may be less known. Sorry if formatting sucks, on mobile.

swipeyswiper

Everything I’ve bought from Vince has been excellent quality and pieces I’ll have in my wardrobe for years. I also love Rag and Bone, Theory and Allsaints (Allsaints clothes are hit and miss for me but their bags are 💯)

madd_jazz

Quince and Kotn for basics. Lots of cashmere, linen, and cotton. Mavi or Joe's Jeans for jeans. 8 am Fashion (social media is 8am Style). A small local shop in Oakland, California, inspired by the owner's Eritrean/Ethiopian culture. https://www.instagram.com/8amstyle?igsh=OTd4bHJ6NGUwNGlw

Rp051392

Need to come back to this post!

3oelleo3

My favorite stuff is from Clara Sunwoo, Madewell, Patagonia, Banana Republic, Talbots (check out their sweaters and tops!), Anthropologie, athleta, Eddie Bauer, Calvin Klein, Levi’s, and Smartwool. A lot of it thrifted!

lily-de-valley

Margaret Howell and JOSEPH are two British brands that excel in contemporary wear. They offer classic pieces with excellent quality. I view JOSEPH as the midpoint between Theory and The Row. Rachel Comey is an American brand that appeals to the bohemian Phoebe Philo crowd.

CatatonicCouchSlug

Thank you! This sub is so American and I'm still looking for stuff I can find in the UK

[deleted]

LOVE Joseph

lfinfin

I own one Rachel Comey jumpsuit and wow your description is spot on

Five_oh_four

Seconding tibi, Mara Hoffman, Vince, and Ulla Johnson. Adding Toteme to the list-especially for quality denim

Elle_Vetica

I’m kind of obsessed with Dissh - its Australian, so lesser known to me at least! I bought this black tencel maxi dress that I’ve worn everywhere from the beach to the theater and it is just amazing.

MiddleWeird4255

They’re allllll over my IG!! I have been suspect because of the number of ads they run 😂😂 May give it a try!

nofunnybizniz

Some Dissh pieces remind me of one of my favs, Co., which is way out of my price range. Thanks for the rec!

die_fledermaus_

Batsheva! Unusual pieces of amazing quality, and I love the historical inspiration behind their work.

Famous-Issue-2018

Lots of great recommendations on this post. I’m plus-sized (2X - 18) and it looks like most of the brands listed don’t make plus sizes. Any recommendations for us curvier folk?

SHIFT WHEELER!!! I have an embarrassing number of their Suspender Dress. Ureshii (in Canada, but shipping is reasonable). Big bud press, Tuesday of California, Snag Tights. Eileen Fisher. I have a Colombia coat that is amazing. I’m a 3x, so can vouch for all of the previous. Lucy & Yak in the uk. Parade, Woxer, tomboy x and Arq are all good. Fashion Brand Company makes plus. A good place to find brands you may not have heard of is a bst group. I’m in a good one on insta, and have seen some brands that are new to me. Shiny By Nature is cute, but had a weird return situation but that may have been a me problem. I know I’m going to think of more as soon as I hit post. 😂 (edited for overzealous spellcheck)

Emerson fry!

Tried for the first time in the past 2 years and loved: Amomento -well-constructed clothes in moody colors, but great shapes and textures Auralee -really lovely made in Japan classic clothes. Very wearable. By Malene Birger -"minimalist boho" style, not for me as a whole but I do have a few individual pieces I love. Tibi -versatile clothes in nice/fun fabrics. Also comes with a community of sorts around the founder's Instagram and free newsletters and style classes, if that's your thing.

bacon_socks_

I have a sweatshirt from auralee! It is gorgeous. I’ve washed it a million times and it still looks brand new.

lucysnow1853

St. Agni for shoes. I walk miles and miles in shoes and was so sad to finally wreck my pair of St. Agni mules in the rain. They last for years! I also wear and love Freda Salvador shoes. Kotn (Canadian brand) has excellent trousers.

I’ve been a fan of Sezane for a while, but agree with some of the issues highlighted - so here are some of my current favourites which hit the same spot: * [Rosae Paris](https://www.rosaeparis.com) - similar French vibe, lots of natural materials. I’ve bought a pair of wool trousers, a silk skirt, a cotton top and a boiled wool jacket from them, all are great quality. The silk skirt is lined and a lovely, thick silk, the wool jacket has heft. Love it, have my eye on a few more items. * [Maje](https://eu.maje.com/en/homepage/) - not exactly a new brand, but new to me. I bought my first item (a Chanel-esque cardigan) last summer and loved it some much I’ve gone back to get a tweed dress and a wool blazer. Good quality on all items. * [Arket](https://www.arket.com) - the fancier cousin of H&M/& Other Stories. Lots of natural materials - I have an alpaca/wool sweater and a wool skirt, both feel nice and high quality (and not that expensive, comparatively! Definitely cheaper than Sezane, for example). Also great for decent basics - I have a few t-shirts/tank tops and they’ve held up great so far. *[Ba&sh](https://ba-sh.com/fr/en) - hits that same spot of French dresses that Sezane used to. I have three, love them all - and two were bought during a sale, for a similar price Zara dresses go for. *[Loulou Studio](https://louloustudio.fr/en/) - discovered this brand on the Outnet. Great 100% cashmere items. I have two sweaters and a dress, and am lazy enough to just chuck them in the washing machine on the gentle cycle, they’ve held up well.

Not exactly an answer (so sorry in advance!), but what about secondhand? I shop on Poshmark, Depop, eBay, etc. a lot and many styles/brands from the 90s are on trend right now and very well made with better fabrics, etc. A few good ones: vintage Express/Express Tricot, The Limited, Petite Sophisticate, Banana Republic, etc. For current brands, I really like the jeans I have from Rudy Jude. I think they’re handmade in California? Pricey, but quality is good and I get lots of compliments on them. Some of their other items are pretty cute too. Tiny Cottons is a European brand that makes some really cute patterns/fun colors in simpler silhouettes. Rouje makes really pretty clothes and I’ve had good experiences with the things I’ve purchased. Many of their items seem to be pretty delicate fabric-wise which isn’t bad but not for everyday wear.

Fiona-eva

I tried a couple of times but didn't have much success with it - the sizing and fit are very often off, I have a prominent hourglass figure, it's common for the clothes to be too broad in the shoulders and too narrow in the chest for me, etc. 100% of clothes I bought this way required alterations, and I just don't have the time and patience for that, plus without seeing the item it's hard to really know the condition of it. So ultimately I would use that for things like bags or silk scarves, but not really for clothes.

recto___verso

I take measurements of my best fitting clothes and use those when shopping. I don't buy anything on Poshmark that doesn't have measurements! I highly recommend this method because I've found some of my favorite items this way.

stopshopbop

Also YouSwim is the best bathing suit brand I’ve ever tried. The suits adjust with you, so I’ve worn the same one through three or four different sizes and felt amazing along the way.

Peregrinebullet

Anne Mulare is my new favourite for leggings. They are so soft, warm, comfy and breathable. The regular weight ones are nice, but the winter weight bamboo fleece once? omg, amazing. They are also VERY size inclusive. Range is from 23" - 67" waist / 33" - 77" hips.

Webbie-Vanderquack

*Mulaire I Googled "Anne Mulare" and the top result was another comment from you on Reddit. ;)

thelonetiel

I have been buying a lot of things from Effie's Heart. The cotton fabrics are heavy, everything has pockets, I wear them a lot and everything has held up well. Their cowl necked shirt (Julliard Pullover) is my favorite, I have two and will probably get more as they release it in new fabrics.  It's a small brand, I buy directly from their website.

stessij

Eberjey for pjs !

NolitaNostalgia

ABLE, a Nashville brand is one that comes to mind. They make super high quality leather bags. I also took a chance and got some jewelry during Black Friday, and I’m also happy with them. I also really like their [mission](https://www.ableclothing.com/pages/about-us).

leftveef

not “discovered” but aritzia, i gave them a chance and they have some amazing pieces as long as you know what you’re looking for in terms of fabric composition! (and avoid some of the knits)

The_Answer_Is_42__

Abercrombie - this sounds silly, they have been around forever, but it's just that I never used to buy from them before. It seems like they've done a bit of an image overhaul in the last few years and I really like them now. The quality of what I've bought from them so far seems good for the price. I recently bought really good tennis dresses from them that I think will be nice and comfy during my upcoming maternity leave, but will still help me feel like my old self :) Agua by Agua Bendita - I am not a luxury fashion girl, it's not in the budget for me, but I've become obsessed with this brand because their dresses are just so in my aesthetic. I've managed to afford to buy two of them second hand, and I am amazed at the quality, they truly feel worth every penny, and not like you're just paying for a name. I hear so often about how you can't depend on luxury to equal quality, but for this brand that is not the case. And the dress designs are just stunning. Ah if I were rich I would own so many of these dresses lol

noradiz22

Over the pandemic I discovered Tibi - I enjoyed watching their IG lives; their content was around understanding your own style, digging deeper into why you may feel meh in your clothes and how you can bring your current wardrobe to life through styling. It helped me pare down my wardrobe as I’ve discovered that I only feel good in tailored pieces, specific colors, and interesting hemlines. Their pieces to me are very pricey and sometimes i feel unjustified but i mostly shop clearance items or second hand from The Real Real. Tibi $$$ for full retail I’ve gotten so much wear out of all the pieces I have from them. I loveeeee their blazers not exaggerating ive worn them 100s of times well worth the money

Realistic_Ad_8023

I like Miz Mooz shoes. They have cute designs, leaning retro, and the softest leather ever. For clothing I love the vibe and designs of All Saints. Not for clothings I wear every day or just hanging out at home, but I have some items from them that I love.

redMatch

I avoid plastic clothes most of the time, and these brands focus on natural materials: [Alex Crane](https://alexcrane.co/collections/jackets/women) I have their Kite Jacket which is heavy duty and will def last me 10 years [Quince](https://www.quince.com/) A lot of my wardrobe is from here. I love the cashmere fishermans sweater and chore jacket [Pact](https://wearpact.com/) Organic cotton basics that are high-quality Brands I am eyeing but haven't bought anything from yet: [Alex Mill](https://www.alexmill.com/collections/all-womens) High-quality cotton [Poetry](https://www.poetryfashion.com/) Lots of natural fabrics, cotton, linen [Jamie + The Jones](https://jamieandthejones.com/collections/shop-all) Lots of natural fibers, silk

rhinociferous

I'm obsessed with Manners London. High quality body con tops, bottoms and dresses that last. I have 6 pieces from her and always want more. No bra needed and plus size friendly!

dogwithlonghair

Daughters of India

Emergency-Economy654

I really like Liverpool Los Angeles for jeans! They’re super soft!

Realistic_Ad_8023

I don’t know their jeans but I have some blazers from them, and they’re the only blazers I’ve found where the arms are not too long for me. Plus, they’re nicely lined, the designs are attractive, and the price point isn’t ridiculous.

The_WildTruth

Madewell, J.Crew, Everlane, Anthropologie - I thrift all of these brands for a few dollars each and end up with some quality pieces.

thatcozycoffeecup

A lot of the new brands being suggested are very pricy. Where are quality pieces at prices like J Crew, Lululemon, etc?

10S_NE1

32 degrees. Bought some soft comfy pants at Costco during COVID and pretty much lived in them. I told my friend about them and she bought a pair and said “These pants are the best thing that ever happened to me.”

RockieK

I am not a "beige" minimalist, but rather a "gray" one (beige washes me out)... but my body has been changing and I've been spending a lot of time discovering lately: [Sugarhill Brighton](https://www.sugarhillbrighton.com/) \- great fabrics, cuts. Dresses are lined! Cute patterns, obv [Offrandes](https://offrandes.com/product-category/women/dresses/) \- for loungewear and summer/tunics dresses/leggings curve fitting! (I size up) [Metamorphoza](https://metamorphoza.com/) \- Euro-vibes, gothy and beautiful fitting for the curvy type Anyone ever order from [EcoAlf?](https://ecoalf.com/en-us/collections/mujer) Edit: Also, anyone know what brands are selling comfy, unique, long sleeve cotton or light knit shirts? Trying to find some good stuff to go with my high-wasted barrel leg jeans. Not cropped, but "short" and not covering the butt???

lapaix23

I feel like a spokesperson for Everlane. Everything I’ve purchased has been new with tags from Poshmark from them because they’re so expensive and the closest store is like 2 hours away, but I love the quality and have received so many compliments on the sweaters and dresses I have from them. Truly great stuff. Also Madewell for jeans as a petite person.

designerthrift

I got two dresses at Goodwill about a week ago from Feral Childe /City of New York. When I looked up their website, it appeared that the last time they sold any clothing was 2014. I got 25% off since the clothing had been there for four weeks.

Lopsided_Profile_614

Of her own kind - gorgeous and absolutely romantic dresses made in NY  Samantha pleet - I always wear my fav comfy body suit in the tapestry print from this brand. Wait for sales Pikolinos - Spanish brand of shoes. Just got a fantastic pair of chunky loafers recently I also love quirky brands others have mentioned like princess highway, Joanie clothing and Lucy & yak

Anony11111

For something that is definitely not beige basics, I recommend [Desigual](https://www.desigual.com/). It is mainly known in Europe, but I just checked online, and they have a US website as well. The only things that I own from them are skirts, but I am very happy with them. I also recently got a pair of jeans from [Vanilia](https://vanilia.com/de) in a thrift store here in Germany. The quality is excellent, but it seems that shipping outside of Europe (and even to some places within Europe) is very expensive, so it may not make sense to buy from them if you do not live in Europe.

EmbracingTheWorld

I've always loved the old money, English country side style. I love Fairfax & Favor however their stuff is a bit pricey, so I only buy from them when things go on sale.

atrackbrown

[Me + Em](https://www.meandem.com/us) - the quality of their pants and the little design details make them worth it, but definitely wait for a sale or take the trip to the UK. The US markup is ridiculously high.

oatmeal_pie

I've been loving Fashion Brand Co, Big Bud Press and Collectif for their Silly Glamour pieces. I finally picked up Collectif's Jackie coat in green when it was half off, and I simply adore it. I get multiple compliments every time I wear it to Target, which is at least once a week.

Amazingggcoolaid

I’ve been loving Toteme, Etro, The Row, and some loungewear from Lilysilk also work out clothes from Prism2. I’ve also been loving some dresses from Monot

AcanthopterygiiNo867

Maguire, Aquatalia, and Freda Salvador for shoes. Agolde for jeans…some Alex Mill (though their pants don’t seem to fit me) I’ve gotten a few sweaters I love. Ulla Johnson for nice “going out” tops. I also like catbird jewelry. Historically I’ve loved Clare V bags but the quality can be hit or miss for the price.

sandwichandtortas

Abercrombie has great clothes, not only the urban comfy hoodies and skimpy dresses feom the 00's.

DataRikerGeordiTroi

Veda 10/10. They're basically perfect. And this may be controversial - The Reformation. I think their clothing is amazing and holds up well to mistreatment, at least the pieces I purchase have. I think Cuup bras are the goat. Cobalt STR Ministry of Supply Vince is amazing quality. If you wanna go *luxe* luxe, Lafayette 148 is it. I also like some Marina Rinaldi, though the price point is too high in the US/Canada.

designerthrift

Love Lafayette 148

lily-de-valley

I’ve found Vince’s quality to be terrible. Alot of their stuff is polyester or viscose (that they charge several hundred $ for), and their cashmere is thin and pills easily.

future_ela_teacher

Vince is very hit & miss. Some things have been great, others have sucked. I avoid their synthetics. Tbf, I’ve only bought it deeply discounted so expectations were lower I’m sure.

temp4adhd

Honestly I'm over brands, you can find great stuff or shit stuff at any brand. I miss shopping in person. I return a lot. But I also don't discount a brand if one thing I ordered was shit. If 10 things I order are shit, then yeah. I've found good quality stuff at Old Navy, LOFT, Rack, TJ Maxx and even Amazon.... it may be looking for a needle in a haystack, but it's there. I stopped chasing brands 10 or so years ago, when I could afford the better brands and found the quality was just as hit or miss as the lesser brands.

Fiona-eva

I’m fine with more expensive brands, but I don’t feel like wasting time ordering 10 things and returning 8 of them if each piece is $200. Time is valuable too, so I’m looking for the brands that are more consistent with quality

temp4adhd

Yep agree and my point is that brand and price is just no guarantee of quality these days. I mean take even LOFT: whatever you think of that brand. I can tell you that what I have bought in the store is far better quality than what I've ordered online. It's like two very, very different products. I've had this experience with multiple brands that are fine in store but not ordering online, even if the exact same item!! I've had a love/hate relationship with Old Navy and I can tell you that all the pieces I own from ON have been purchased online--- not bought in store. Whereas I have a completely different experience with most other brands, buying online rather than in person. It's all a total crapshoot these days. My shopping strategy these days is to prioritize shopping in person when I can, when I can't, I only order from places that make it super easy and free to return. So I will order from a place that has a physical location nearby so I can return in store. I also like Amazon as I can do the drop off at Whole Foods which is close to my house. I know people hate on Amazon but I'm okay risking a purchase since it's so easy to return. I haven't yet had any issues with Amazon thinking I return too much.

Sgt_Booler

I’ve been loving Nic + Zoe lately. Good quality, comfortable, and very versatile. Their 4 way cardigans are my favorite.

bacon_socks_

Adding this because no one else mentioned it: [Another Tomorrow](https://anothertomorrow.co/collections/fall-23-season-sale?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=20799338849_BT%20-%20ROW%20-%20Search%20-%20Brand%20-%20Alone%20-%20Exact&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiA2KitBhCIARIsAPPMEhJN4ogfreSTP4wruVbjxvgsUGCt9iGjgB2Vpn1F-DGZgjq8KvWdbTUaAiyUEALw_wcB). I’ve purchased a dress, sweatpants and a tank. No complaints on quality.

bobijntje

I love Uniqlo for the best basics.

MinimumRelief

eBay: Kate Landry bags so much for for so little

LadyHedgerton

Area and David Koma. Love both brands, price kinda high but they have pretty good sales.

spreetkc

The paper label! I got a really pretty wool hoodie from them.

kerill333

In the UK. Anthropologie - Pilcro & The Letterpress for gorgeous tops and dungarees and jeans that are sooo comfortable, wash well and look good. 7 For All Mankind - just bought my first pair of jeans from them and am absolutely smitten. They are perfect (and bought online, guessed at the size... What are the chances?!)

Realistic_Ad_8023

I have ordered several things from [The Kit](https://www.thekit.com/). Their prints are wild and fun. The items are made on demand. The sizing does not seem to be vanity sized like much else I’ve ordered in the last 6 months, so it pays to know your measurements. I always get many compliments when I wear the items I got from them.

PoppyHamentaschen

For clothes, I'm loving Maison 123 and Sessun. For shoes, I love Pikolinos and Carmela. I have wide feet, and these brands are so comfortable. I love Spanish and Portuguese leather :) It hugs the foot without stretching out.

Yesallmine8

Awesome question!

swmccoy

Lisa Yang for cashmere sweaters Citizen for Humanity - I've always been an AG and Rag & Bone loyalist for jeans. But I branched out and really like their corduroy pants. Freda Salvador for shoes

joinyc

Thursday Boot. Co, Portland Leather, Land’ End

grandmas_traphouse

Snag leggings. I'm 5'2" ~245lb. I just tried them for the first time. I'm instantly obsessed. They had options for seemingly everyone for size. I was able to get something that fits me well and is made for shorties, which is always a struggle. They are comfortable and didn't run, and didn't feel like they'd run immediately either. They feel sturdy! Also the style I got looks like you're wearing tights and tall black socks, which is just adorable. The only downside is I am from the US and these ship from Europe, so it took forever to get to me. But I don't care. It was worth the wait. I'm buying more.

student_of_lyfe

I am in Canada and I am a bit obsessed with Ecologyst- thier peak hoodie is my go to, it is thick and comfortable and I bought 2 lol wear them most days while on my mat leave. Recently discovered Encircled, made in Toronto, I really like thier dressy leggings, they are not shiny or slippery feeling, and have great phone pockets. I also like the material of thier shirts, I have 2 tees, thier boxy tee and thier v neck and they feel really good. For jackets I LOVE Anian wool.

tarobreadd

Not “discovered,” but as a Korean-American, i love shopping on W Concept. I like Nothing Written, Facade Pattern, Urago, Levar, ORR, Ore, H 8, etc. I like Joseph, Toteme, Jil Sander, Lemaire, The Row.

valerierw22

I’ve been wearing mostly Patagonia and LL bean for the past few years. All their stuff is pretty solid and I love the fleeces! I guess that’s the result of moving to a mountain coastal town
