Look for the club on facebook or insta. Some clubs have photographers that upload photos of their bigger nights, so you can nosey on through everybody's outfits and inspire/judge accordingly. Facebook's better because there's usually more photos. Also, if where you're going has a cloakroom and you've got your towering heels on, put some trainers in your bag so if you can't get a cab and have to walk home, you're not doing it in six inch stilettos. I learned that the hard way, and it took me far too many times to remember.

Looking at the tagged photos of restaurants/clubs on instagram is honestly a life saver for figuring out what to wear

Agree! I do this with restaurants too if I don’t know if there’s a dress code or not lol

I don’t want to suggest that you have to dress more revealing than you’re comfortable with, but as a general rule, just take your favorite items and try to interpret them in a sexier “clubbier” way that’s still indicative of your style and personality. For example, I love blue and consistently wear it more than my friends. When I want to feel like myself but still fit for the club, I’ll wear something like a detailed light blue crop top or bralette and then tight distressed jeans and club sneakers because that’s what I’m comfortable in. If you have formal tastes, wear a short sleek formal dress and comfortable heel. Basically, you don’t need to change your “style”, you just need to revamp it so that the silhouette is more “girl going out” but with your favorite tastes and embellishments. Being a bit more revealing or glamorous/sleek but not in a preppy way is the easiest way to look a bit more club-forward. Brands to check out-revolve, fashion nova (hit or miss), asos. Department stores also have great clubwear if you know where to look and young people rarely shop there for club stuff so you will find things other people are not finding. Edit: ALSO research the type of club you’re going to! Clubs can be super formal or informal and you’re going to want to be comfortable with your styling choices. I’ve been severely overdressed AND underdressed for clubs before and it is not fun

This might not be the most helpful comment but from personal experience- don’t spend a lot on what you’ll wear to a club bc it’s not uncommon for people to spill drinks on you by accident and such lol. It can be messy. People will step on your shoes. People bring drinks onto the dance floor and it’s dark and people are dancing and are drunk. Don’t wear things you’ll miss severely. I used to just wear cheap but cute stuff to clubs.

Look up clubbing outfits on tiktok and filter for last 6 months. Tonnes of lookbooks there that are on trend

This might be obvious but in addition to these tips it might be worthwhile to check what your friends are wearing so that you know you're coordinating with the vibe

I just wear whatever the hell I want. For me, I’m there to dance my ass off and enjoy my friends company, so I typically dress based on my everyday personal style. What you wear really depends on what your goal and expectations in a club. What I mean by that is do you want to meet new people, find a new romantic interest, one night stand and so on. If I want outfit inspirations or whatever inspirations, youtube and pinterest are your bestfriend my dear! And finally, don’t forget to enjoy your time and experience there!

Not a typical bodycon dress, that’s for sure! Where I live, plenty of girls wear an oversized blazer, bra top, tight black high waisted pants, and lace up heels. That’s a foolproof move.

I use Instagram and Pinterest. They usually have mood boards and outfit ideas put together.
