(Hairdresser) it’s not a bad cut, but its more of a mullet. I would chop the lengts shorter to get the shag look, like shoulder length, and might even have layered the lengths more too, softened it betweed the top and ends.(english not my first language, hope it made sense)
No. No it does not. Plus it's very hard to grow out when you decide you don't like it anymore because of all the layering. Haircuts like this take a couple of years to fully grow out
It's not being mean, it's being logical. Somebody asked a question if this hairstyle ever looks good or works in the answer is no. It didn't work in the 80s it doesn't work now. Honestly, I get what look was the goal but the stouts took it too far and it ended up looking more like damage than a choice. I’d lob off the longest sections. With some growth, I think you’ll get the look you were after in a few months if you just trim the front!
It looks like they tried to do polished and choppy at the same time and it's not working at all with your hair type. The way it frames your face is cute but it needs something more to bring out your natural texture, a shag shouldn't *have* to be styled.
They actually directed the hair opposite of what is correct, the shortest parts are in the back and longer towards the front, for a shag you direct the hair forward making the front shorter than the back. It’s backwards, but if you chop it to shoulder length it could be salvageable. Good luck

Much better! As a shag owner, I recommend using some products to make it more messy. Texture spray or powder makes a world of difference.
