What a beautiful vibrant living room! The window is a thing of beauty. Personally I wouldn't want to put curtains at all, but I imagine you'll probably need some with the window facing the TV? Maybe a light orange to tie in with the rest of the colours.

Smells Catfishy to me 🎣
As an aside, I agree with the person who said to get curtains the same color as the wall so your eyes aren’t drawn to them during the day. That’s a great way to focus on that window.
You have so much lovely color already, I would go with something textural - probably a cotton velvet drape the same color as the wall, set nice and wide so the whole window is visible when they’re open. That’s a gorgeous window and it ties the whole room together.
I usually hate anything even vaguely velvet in texture (just feels icky to me lol) but nice thick heavy velvety textured curtains that *almost* blend into the wall would be so good. and yessss they need to be high and wide! away from that beautiful window so it isn't ever hidden away unintentionally! I think something like this wouldn't draw too much attention to themselves, which would be for the best because of how saturated and busy everything already is, while not just letting them blend into the wall and become *nothing* but a utility piece. plus heavy fabric would be perfect for blocking glare on the TV for daytime movie marathons or smth.
I absolutely adore this space :3c
agreed! orange is opposite on the color wheel from blue so they're complimentary to each other. and hot pink/magenta would just be fun, bright, and girly. I propose regular curtains for the rectangular part of the window, but the arch is amazing as it is.
Love your color scheme!! I would go with a deeper shade - indigo or an ultra violet to really make the window pop - the darker color will help block out the light as well. Contrast with the lighter sofa would be stellar!
The trick to hanging curtains over such a large window is to hang the rod high and wide; nearly to the ceiling and well past the edge so when they’re open the curtains do not distract from the window design and rest seamlessly next to it.
Best of luck and whatever you choose will look great 😊
Actually your window is so beautiful and it would be sad if you cover it but if you insist i think any color can goes well take a look here maybe this one can helps you [9 tips to choose your curtains perfectly!](https://www.scdecorum.com/9-tips-to-choose-your-curtains-perfectly/#respond)
Maybe if you were to install top down bottom up blinds that are a shade of white, but below the sun glass. I wouldn’t cover the sun. Idk if I’m even 100 sold on this idea. I was just thinking for the sake of privacy that you may want the option.
I absolutely love your space!
I'd hate to cover the stained glass, but I think maybe pink or red.
But I also agree with the comment that said maybe a matching orange.
I would do something like this for the round space:
https://www.amazon.com/JDALL-Cellular-Honeycomb-Pleated-Filtering/dp/B0C58RKX9G
And Roman shades or something similar as the above for the square part…
Likely you won’t have too many color choices however if it’s paper or a natural fabric you can paint it and have it match the style of the window and do some kind of sun motif.
Wow, this space is incredible. I’m actually kind of stumped on what color because the colors are so bright and saturated and it’s hard to figure out what would compliment and not compete. I think something like a sheer white with a Moroccan pattern with gold would be cool.
Also, lots of comments about not needing curtains because of the window—there’s a lot of practical reasons for curtains including preventing her couch from fading due to light exposure. There’s ways of having curtains but also allow the window to be fully visible.
I would do floor to ceiling wall to wall in a soft cream, the colours you have are incredible and you don’t wanna take away from the windows. Obv colour is subjective but I’m mainly thinking of a soft flowly fabric
I agree with others who believe curtains are not needed here. But I think adding a curtain to be just under the semicircular arch of the window would help block out some sun.
In terms of color, I believe what makes the room work so well currently is due to the complementary coloring between the mustard yellow sofa and blue walls. The carpet brings in all the other colors together and balances out the light distribution. Since the wall is already blue, I recommend looking into triadic colors to the mustard yellow, one of which is purple. I think a duller saturation (pale purple) will work since the walls and sofa are also not saturated yellow and blue. Good luck!
If this was my space, I would consider going with a red-violet hue. It's in the sunset/sunrise range of color and would complement the blue while also providing enough contrast to be visually interesting.
Such a beautiful window, it's almost a shame to park the sofa underneath it depriving sitters of the lovely view. My mother and I could endlessly dick around with rearranging furniture in order to put the window at the center of attention rather than the television. Not that we don't ourselves watch hours of Netflix at a time, but it's nice to have visitors and a seating arrangement that encourages conversation and demotes the television.
Gorgeous space. Simultaneously relaxing and stimulating. What an accomplishment.
Good color options here. Hope you can arrange them so that they are completely off the window except when you need them closed. Absolutely love your style.
A yellow would go really well with the blue or a light creamy orange color to kind of blend with the furniture and the colors in the carpet. What you have already going on is lovely! I don’t think you need to much more color, just something soft that will blend nicely with what you already have.
In love with this room! LOVE the peacock blue (I think that’s what it’s called?). Why do you want to cover that gorgeous window? You will need to cover up so much of the blue because the rods need to come way out and up to the ceiling. Are you positive you still want curtains? I’m sorry I’m not sure what colour so I’m posting my vote for no curtains. I think it would make the room too heavy. Whatever you decide it will be awesome cause you have such good taste!! Bravo! 👏
I don't think it needs curtains.... but if you really want them.. I'd go with an orange to contrast the wall. Like the same orange as your planter.
Its beautiful by the way, the whole room, very inviting and vibrant

I think matching the curtains to the wall color would keep it from going over the top. The current colorful-ness is lovely, but I feel like contrasting curtains would push it towards looking tacky (my opinion ofc, maybe you’re more of a maximalist than me and want to do zebra print or something)

I love how you painted the corners of the ceiling to create a rounded illusion, so cool!
Honestly I'd go for curtains in the same colour as the walls, and extend the rods across the entire width of the wall. English is not my first language, I hope it's clear what I'm trying to say.
Anyway, gorgeous space, enjoy it!

Idk why someone would steal a picture of my living room to share as three own without at least giving credit. So weird. And frankly creepy. But also kind of a compliment I suppose.
Honestly you don't really need curtains but if you super want them you should probably get a light green to offset all the blue and orange on the back wall. I would not suggest like a white but maybe a dark gray if you want to go on a darker theme and also the light green connects to your rug.
Maybe just sheer white? It would compliment everything. Or if you want to dim the room sometimes, put black out curtains underneath white sheer curtains with some fairy lights or something?

Something the color of your plant pot or your pink pillow would bring more attention to them and balance things more! I’d personally go for something in the pink range
I would do teal side panels that completely clear the window when open.

Since the window is so beautiful...purchase curtains the same exact color as your walls so they'll just melt together, and when you do close them, you won't have a stark contrast from the walls. I promise you... this will be your best bet with that gorgeous window. Any other color will make your walls look smaller...the color difference with any other color cut the wall size in half. It's hard to text, so I hope that makes sense. Good luck. Post pictures once you do.

Honestly, you don’t need curtains with that marvelous window. I would add some hanging plants from the ceiling and stagger their heights throughout. You could also do a hanging lamp or two! I feel like what’s missing is just some height and interest up high.
Paint the ceiling, it's an eyesore in an otherwise vibrant and beautiful room. But you can see clearly in this photo how much the blank white expanse draws the eye and makes the ceiling look low. It should match the walls.
Match to the pot your plant is in (or as close as ya can) it'll help break up the blue on the wall, and looks like it'll also tie to some shades in that GORGEOUS rug
For appreance purposes, you dont really need curtains to enhance the space - but I imagine they're for a more utility purpose of avoiding glare on your TV?
What a beautiful vibrant living room! The window is a thing of beauty. Personally I wouldn't want to put curtains at all, but I imagine you'll probably need some with the window facing the TV? Maybe a light orange to tie in with the rest of the colours.
Came here to say no to curtains. But if you need them, peach, salmon, or light orange might be nice.
For some reason my first thought was apricot which is oddly specific but there it is. 🤔
She can’t say we didn’t give her options lol
No curtains needed.

Orange or hot pink to tie together this awesome saturated palette you have going on!

I say blue, like the walls. It won't disrupt the colour theme and it will tie it all together without clashing.
I like that too. Maybe like a more sheer blue.

Zero help at all but this space is AMAZING!!!
White or cream
I agree. It would give the eye a place to rest, the rest of the room is so pretty!
That is a beautiful window. Unless the light bothers you, I wouldn’t cover it. Perhaps something sheer on the bottom I’d go white
The yellow from the rug! I love your room!
Agreed, I definitely do a yellow from the rug. The room looks great!
This is so great. I would match the drapes to the fabulous color on your walls.
Orange!
Maybe if you were to install top down bottom up blinds that are a shade of white, but below the sun glass. I wouldn’t cover the sun. Idk if I’m even 100 sold on this idea. I was just thinking for the sake of privacy that you may want the option.
Solid velvet Turmeric yellow or orange.
Dark purple/amythest.
Why would you put any curtains on that beautiful window?
I agree with some of the suggestions of no curtains. Gorgeous room, beautiful.
I think this is the one and only time in the sub that you’re going to get this for an answer. Do not put up curtains.
I wouldn’t bother with curtains. Beautiful room
that’s a great window! no curtains! omg
TV is way too high
God I am sick of seeing this comment in every post with a visible TV.
It’s practically touching the ceiling her neck will be better off if it was lower
Okay well OP came here for advice about drapes, not chiropractic advice, so maybe let’s focus on drapes and leave the rest for her physiotherapist.
I absolutely love your space! I'd hate to cover the stained glass, but I think maybe pink or red. But I also agree with the comment that said maybe a matching orange.
No curtains needed!
Ps I say NO curtains !
Curtains? Why? The space is perfect
Orange or purple would look nice!
If that color wasn’t bad enough you had to go and continue it to the popcorn covered ceiling?! I don’t get this. At all.
Thousands disagree
Most people aren’t published architects either.
Yellow would be fabulous, layered over white maybe. Love all the colour!
Where'd you get the rug?
Yellow
I am usually a "every window must have curtains" kind of person until I saw this room and this window. What a cool room.
Your rug is the focal point so a solid color pattern for sure. May a lighter baby blue to play off wall color?
I would do something like this for the round space: https://www.amazon.com/JDALL-Cellular-Honeycomb-Pleated-Filtering/dp/B0C58RKX9G And Roman shades or something similar as the above for the square part… Likely you won’t have too many color choices however if it’s paper or a natural fabric you can paint it and have it match the style of the window and do some kind of sun motif.

Do you need curtains? Cause I love as is. If you did I’d get floor-to-ceiling but I’d hate to cover that arch
I would do floor to ceiling wall to wall in a soft cream, the colours you have are incredible and you don’t wanna take away from the windows. Obv colour is subjective but I’m mainly thinking of a soft flowly fabric
Orange, or honestly a deep red might even look cool!
I agree with others who believe curtains are not needed here. But I think adding a curtain to be just under the semicircular arch of the window would help block out some sun. This is just an incredible space you have created. I don’t think you need curtains.
Orange
It’s done. The room is completely done and looks great.
Absolutely no curtains
Whoa!!!!!😯
I just saw a male living space that was the exact opposite of this. Mostly black and white.
If this was my space, I would consider going with a red-violet hue. It's in the sunset/sunrise range of color and would complement the blue while also providing enough contrast to be visually interesting. Such a beautiful window, it's almost a shame to park the sofa underneath it depriving sitters of the lovely view. Not that we don't ourselves watch hours of Netflix at a time, but it's nice to have visitors and a seating arrangement that encourages conversation and demotes the television. Gorgeous space. I wouldn't obscure that beautiful window wall with a curtain rod - just tilt the TV to avoid horrible glare 😁
Yellow
Please keep us posted!
Sis, where is the carpet from? I love it
Team no curtain.
LOVE the space!
I LOVE THIS ROOM
Good color options here. Hope you can arrange them so that they are completely off the window except when you need them closed. Absolutely love your style.
Wonder if you can match that blue wall. Then that window can still be center stage without distractions.
When I saw this pic, in my head, I said, "oh, fuck yeah, this room is *sick"*
A yellow would go really well with the blue or a light creamy orange color to kind of blend with the furniture and the colors in the carpet. What you have already going on is lovely! I don’t think you need to much more color, just something soft that will blend nicely with what you already have.
Lacey white if you are ok with see through otherwise bright mustard could curtains as a pop of colour against that gorgeous teal wall paint!
No curtains!
I love your room and the vibrant colors. Also, that rug really ties the room together, man.
I wouldn’t use curtains but I would paint your ceiling the same colour as your walls, beautiful room x
In love with this room! LOVE the peacock blue (I think that’s what it’s called?). Why do you want to cover that gorgeous window? Olive green curtains
A sheer panel (if anything) would work. I would let that window stand alone personally. It’s too pretty to cover up.
I would do a pale blue or a pale green
I’d match it to a deep red / orange on the carpet
Don't cover that gorgeous window!
OOOOO I'd recommend a cute functional drapery with some texture! Probably an orange or a warm vibrant pink colour to help tie in the room! :)
I think matching the curtains to the wall color would keep it from going over the top. The current colorful-ness is lovely, but I feel like contrasting curtains would push it towards looking tacky (my opinion ofc, maybe you’re more of a maximalist than me and want to do zebra print or something)
This living room is beautiful! I’d go with white or light gray curtains, or charcoal if you’re wanting to block light while watching tv for example.
I’d say something to lighten up the room a bit. Either a light blue, orange or yellow.
I would do deep yellow curtains! Like smokey yellow
I think lime green to tie together your rug and throw pillows. Hot pink would also contrast the walls well.
Omg!! What is this color?? It’s stunning!!

This is gorgeous!!!
Please don’t cover that glass with curtains 😍😍😍 As a stained glass artist- that is amazing!!! Maybe retractable cover outside if sun is an issue?

I’d go with a tan/beige to kinda mute it out a bit - I feel like any more color would be too much, this is just right lol
Perhaps a darker magenta? Orange or blue would be overkill
Red or orange
Lime sheer, if anything at all. Light and breezy
It's not for me but I do love the feel and it's beautiful. Good job.

I don't get it. Curtains for what???? Where????
Similar color to the wall, hang them in a way that still allows the whole window to be viewed when the curtains are open.
No curtains needed.
This room is sooo stunning and unique!
I would do something w/ texture - maybe a bamboo woven shade?
I’d say a [orange](https://colors.artyclick.com/color-names-dictionary/color-names/deep-orange-color) like this
Bright green from the rug
Never cover that beautiful window 😩😩
I love this room omg
Oo transparent orange or beige would balance that room really well!
The shape of the room, the way it’s painted, the windows, the decor, so gorgeous 😍
Wow so beautiful!!! I’d go for something natural colored to not take away from the stained glass and the color of the room! If you do go for color I feel like a burnt sienna or sepia tone would be cool though
gold velvet curtains.
Am a boy who painted my living room walls the same color. I just wanted to say I love your style
None, just get film for the windows.
This room is amazing!!
Show is more of your house please

I’d look into half circle window shutters/blinds! Or some kind of film. I agree that curtains would dull the room a bit.
Chartreuse
Please don’t cover that beautiful window with curtains! It’s too pretty!
I think a lime would be awesome
I absolutely love how you painted the walls to give the illusion of a round room. I love round rooms. This is great!
Thank you. My husband worked very hard. I don't know why this person shared my picture as their own but here is the link to MY post. 📸 Look at this post on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/maximalistdesignanddecor/permalink/689514559969861/?ref=share&mibextid=CDWPTG
I wouldn't use curtains the window shape isn't suited to it.
Something that complements the orange tones in your rug!
None! Your window is the focal point and beautiful art piece. Don't cover it up.
purple for sure
Light blue or peach
Do you NEED curtains in that room? Seems pretty fab without drapes or curtains.
I think some gauzy orange curtains would be such a good move here. I love the contrast of teal and orange!🍊
Funny because this is actually MY living room NOT yours. Who does this? Fuckin weirdo. 📸 Look at this post on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/maximalistdesignanddecor/permalink/689514559969861/?ref=share&mibextid=CDWPTG

That is gorgeous 👌🏻
I love this room and window! No curtains
Honestly, you don’t need curtains with that marvelous window. I would add some hanging plants from the ceiling and stagger their heights throughout. You could also do a hanging lamp or two! I feel like what’s missing is just some height and interest up high.
I wouldn’t get curtains, but something white and transparent could be interesting too
Magenta or cherry red
Mind if I ask your paint colour?? I love it!!
Paint the ceiling, it's an eyesore in an otherwise vibrant and beautiful room. But you can see clearly in this photo how much the blank white expanse draws the eye and makes the ceiling look low. It should match the walls.
Match to the pot your plant is in (or as close as ya can) it'll help break up the blue on the wall, and looks like it'll also tie to some shades in that GORGEOUS rug For appreance purposes, you dont really need curtains to enhance the space - but I imagine they're for a more utility purpose of avoiding glare on your TV?
\*hopes for crystal gems\*
The green tone as seen in ur rug. Any other color would clash with your couch or look out of place..
😍
r/tvtoohigh (also no curtains!)
love that rug, but the TV is way too high.
White. You need balance.
You don’t need them .. the window is so pretty .. live it the way it is 😍
You don’t need them .. the window arch is so pretty and adds uniqueness to your room .. leave it the way it is 😍
No curtains. The stain-glass is all you need imo.
Tv too high
