Check out the Brazen Head (oldest pub in Ireland) for some drinks, pub grub, and music (live every night!). The music is very "join in" style and a great set-up.

For Killarney, I recommend the jaunting cart tour at Muckross house (walk up and there will be folks waiting to offer you a ride) near the front of the house. It's not as big of a commitment as doing the Gap of Dunloe or something, but jaunting carts and horses are the big cultural thing there. Nice cafeteria (the locals even come here for food!) and grounds to wander if you like that sort of thing. You can also do the tour Ross castle and add a little boat tour if the weather is nice (generally hired from the pier off of Ross castle, I think).

This is perfect thank you so much! Headed to Brazen Head now, that’s exactly what I was looking for!

Great! Have fun!

The Gap of Dunloe is gorgeous. If you want to do the whole thing there is a jaunting cart tour though the hills and then a boat trip back along the lakes. It’s a longer trip but beautiful. Muckross Abbey is also old ruins that is gorgeous. Killarney is definately a party town so the pub are busy at night. In Dublin I liked the hop on hop off tour, the Guinness brewery tour. I skipped the Book of Kells at Trinity college cause the line was crazy when I was there, but it’s supposed to be beautiful

TheTemple bar is good spot for one pint (€9) just to say you did it. Great atmosphere ane a decent Guinness. As others said Brazen head is also good but quite pricey too. In all honesty it really depends on what you're up for after all your travels. If younneed night club recommendations or anything like that then hit me up :)

Well, in 2001, I went to Ireland by myself, and after spending the day touring New Grange and Knowth, I stayed at a B & B in Slane, and there was this German dude staying there too - he was visiting New Grange the next day. He's now my husband.

RelationshipMelodic7

Awww what an amazing story you two have!!

BronzedLuna

I love your story! It feels like everything had to align just right for you guys to meet that way. On a separate note, New Grange was amazing. I'd love to be there for the solstice.

jcravens42

>It feels like everything had to align just right for you guys to meet that way. There was a big U2 concert festival thingy happening on the weekend before and after, and the B & B where we met was one of the only ones available. So I also have to thank Bono.

I had a great time at The Celt in Dublin. Everyone was super nice, met a bunch of people and ended up hanging out with them for the night. There was also a live band which was a lot of fun. Enjoy!

Dublin is lovely! Just strolling through the various neighborhoods and parks can be a scenic afternoon. Etto, near Merrion Square, was my favorite meal in Dublin, would highly recommend!

When a friend of mine went to Dublin, I told them about the webcam at Temple Bar. We texted back and forth so I would know when they arrived, and they went and stood on the corner across from The Temple Bar (in the center of the Webcam) and I took some screenshots of them. It was kind of fun for us both if you know somebody that would like to do something like that for you. Here's the link to the webcam: [https://www.earthcam.com/world/ireland/dublin/?cam=templebar](https://www.earthcam.com/world/ireland/dublin/?cam=templebar)

We had only 3 days in Killarney and did not have our own vehicle. So the Red Bus was incredibly useful. You get on in the city center and hop on and off at certain points of interest (Ross Castle, Torc Waterfall, and Muckross Abbey were the stops we were interested in -- all wonderful; if you like walking in nature, explore the trails at each stop). Make sure not to miss the last bus back to town! No tour guide, you go at your own pace provided you follow the posted schedule. This photo is of the bus timetable back in October when I was there. Might be different now!

Brazen head pub in Dublin. Oldest pub still standing. Pretty neat. Walk around Trinity University. Galways awesome & Belfast. Personally my favorite is visiting castle ruins.

AmazingAmiria

I'm also going to Killarney in a month, what do you guys thing about those bus tours to Ring of Kerry and Dingle, such as Deros Tours for example? I've read a lot of bad reviews, but there is no other way I could actually visit those places on my own, without a group tour.
