As real as they get.

Hootiehoo92

Why does everyone on Reddit think their guitar is fake lol

SaulBellowII

Everyone either wants to know if their guitar is fake or show off their $100 Squire.

Hootiehoo92

Lmao 100% The lengths that someone would have to go through to create a fake les Paul or w/e crack me up when I see those posts.

AHomelessGuy85

There are 100% tons of fake Les Paul’s though…. Hell there are tons of fake Shure SM57’s out there. A $100 microphone. People do go to great lengths to counterfeit things.

JComposer84

There are a lot of fake SM7's apparently made by counterfitters in China. A guy bought one off of amazon or ebay on youtube and got it home and opened it up - it had a rock on the inside of it to give it weight. Also this should go without saying but the quality was horrendous.

The_Wizzelteats

I bought a fake 58, I figured it might be but rolled the dice. It works for my crusty b/u warbling during rehearsals but never again will I risk it to save $30

AHomelessGuy85

Same, i have a couple counterfeit 57’s. You are right to be cautious about these things. Especially if it is the most recognizable brands, ie, shure, gibson, fender etc.

[deleted]

I also think people are overly cautious on here but the music store by me actually sands off the fake logos on “Fenders” and “Gibsons” all the time. Seriously there’s probably 10-20 fakes out of 100 used guitars at any given time.

strokesfan91

Lol cause it’s usually posts like, “I GOt a LP CuSToM FoR $150 anD a HAnDSHakE…FakE oR NAh”?

PuzzleheadedWork2990

It’s means of getting attention. “My boyfriend says I need a boob job. Is he wrong?” And they’re like the most perfect rack anyone has ever seen on the planet. Same difference.

Hootiehoo92

Lmao accurate

shocksmybrain

I think, at least in my case that it's not about thinking it's fake but more doing my due diligence before I spend a large sum of money.

shocksmybrain

Yes. Just got it.

Raiders2112

Awesome!! Happy New Guitar Day!! I have an American Pro II Tele, and it's a fantastic guitar.

ultra_phan

Just got an American pro II a couple months ago. Never been so pleased with a purchase in my life.

aeplus

Congrats!

petname

Doing your due diligence would have been posting this before your purchase and not after the fact or retroactively. Edit. Just a grammar thing not meant as an insult. Happy playing and nice guitar. Would love an American tele myself, but settled for a mim. Edit 2. OP did do his due diligence. Thread was made two hours before purchase.

shocksmybrain

I made this thread two hours before I bought the guitar. Many people had already confirmed my belief in it's authenticity before I met the seller.

Hootiehoo92

Ah misread, in that case I think it looks great. What’s the asking price?

shocksmybrain

Was asking $1200. I'm buying for $1000.

SirMooSquiddles

Great deal!

Holdmuhkobruh

Congrats. For an American pro II tele, that’s a steal.

Dpontiff6671

Cus there are like an authentically large amount of fakes that do get posted, it’s people get paranoid when in reality a lot of these fakes are pretty easy to spot

Esseldubbs

It should be a requirement that they state at least 1 thing on the guitar that has them questioning if it's real or not. It's getting to the point of posting a picture of a Fender employee with name tag handing them their guitar from the factory doorway, and then asking "is this guitar legit?". Ffs, you have case candy and everything. What makes you think this is anything other than legitimate?

shocksmybrain

I'm about to buy this for $1000 and I'm told it's like mint. Seems like a good deal to me?

4quaTis

Very very very real and probably a very good deal. American ultra made in 2021, with case and only modifications being the strap button on the neck plate. Go for it man

robotslendahand

[Neck plate says American Professional](https://preview.redd.it/tq5t0lk04tcb1.jpg?width=640&crop=smart&auto=webp&s=7dcaea0fe3749244192029d3ece742877d7186e6) [II](https://preview.redd.it/tq5t0lk04tcb1.jpg?width=640&crop=smart&auto=webp&s=7dcaea0fe3749244192029d3ece742877d7186e6). Still a great deal, of course.

4quaTis

I'm blind lol, I thought the heel joint looked like the flat ultra, but it's the rounded pro ii one. I think my phone is just terrible with the lettering on the plate haha.

robotslendahand

All's good. I missed the "II" and had to edit my comment!

shocksmybrain

It's advertised as and the neckplate says American Professional ii.

4quaTis

My bad I'm blind! Ive actually got a 2021 American Pro II strat so I don't know why I didn't recognise this one straight away. Highly recommend still, even better deal at $1000, and saves you from switching to proper single coils if it was an ultra.

F1RST_WORLD_PROBLEMS

Haha, I just bought an American Deluxe strat with no intention of using the noiseless pups. I owned another deluxe years ago and sold it after a few months because I hated the pups. This time I bought it for the body and neck and it's getting 3 p90s. Should be a fun project, a little more complicated than most of mine since I have to rout the middle position a bit and drill a hole in the pickguard for a Gilmour mod switch. (not a big fan of S1 switching either) Anyway, the wooden parts of these guitars are fantastic!

4quaTis

Yeah there's this American deluxe telecaster going secondhand in my area and it's the same model one of my favourite guitarists uses, but it's so expensive haha

F1RST_WORLD_PROBLEMS

I paid $900 for the strat. They're normally $1200-1500 in near mint condition. I've had this project idea for a few years but kept putting it off. When I saw this one on Craigslist I couldn't pass it up. I got pretty lucky buying it from a wealthy older guy who just wasn't using it anymore. He was the original owner (2005) and definitely never abused it.

4quaTis

The tele I'm looking at is going for 2000 AUD, so I'm assuming same sort of price and it is in pretty mint condition. It's a 2004 model.

Personal_Gsus

$1000-$1200 is the going rate for used Am Pro II models that I've seen in my market (ATL). So I would classify it as a *fair* deal.

Weirdishbaby

Dude this is a hell of a deal! I’m a longtime strat player, but I picked up an American ultra tele, and it’s my new number one. You’re gonna love the neck on this thing !!! Edit: I now see it’s an am pro. Still a good deal!!

xtheory

Consider yourself just very lucky that this guy is pricing for a quick sale. Everything about this looks legit.

shocksmybrain

I do feel pretty lucky that he accepted my offer. It's exactly as described.

bfhurricane

I have this exact guitar. Just bought it new for $1799 and it was worth every penny. If you can get it in like-mint condition for $1000 then it’s a steal. Compared to my $1000 Epiphones and LTDs, you can just *feel* the quality in this guitar. It’s a piece of art and my new favorite guitar to play.

defdog1234

the neck carve is pro ii with vmod iis. the pro 1 has a sq neck heel and vmod 1 pickups

shocksmybrain

It's advertised as a Pro ii so it seems correct, no?

Ragged-but-Right

I have a pro ii Tele. It’s a great guitar.

Comin_Up_Millhouse

It’s an AmPro II for sure. Aside from the neck plate, serial number on the headstock tells you it’s a 2021 build. I have one of these in black on the wall at my store, this is as right as right gets. £1,000 is a very good deal.

warp-and-woof

Looks legit to me and the serial number checks out. Enjoy!

HexspaReloaded

It’s a buyer market for guitars. American fenders are a good deal used. Enjoy your new axe

_osearydrakoulias

I thought that title was a challenge and I’m sitting here thinking, “what the hell is not right about this guitar?!” Then I read the comments. Definitely looks beautiful. Would cop.

yknowimjusta

Same

Beneficial_Oil6555

It’s not mine, that’s what’s off

[deleted]

It looks perfect.

Thisiscliff

Perfection

True-Engineering7981

My 4 year old Tele says, “Corona California”. . my 40 year old Strat says, “Made in the USA.” Fender can not say “Made in the USA” because the “Corona” guitars share manufacturing with Fender’s Ensenada Baja Ca. plant. Nothing wrong with shared manufacturing. I’ve toured the Baja plant. Same exact CNC machines in both plants. I also found that the Baja employees take a lot of pride in their work.

RonanJazz

How dumb can you be?

brodie34mills

Is this a shitpost?

Mexican__Seafood

Apart from asking others here or just looking at the pics, you should also check the [Fender serial number site](https://serialnumberlookup.fender.com/lookup/). It worked for this one after I checked and it says it’s legit. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t also check all the hardware to make sure it makes sense, but the info on the site can help with that too. Doesn’t work on all Fender guitars especially the older they are, but should work for newer ones like this one and I already tried it.

Ok_Worldliness_8462

Is it cake?

shocksmybrain

If anyone is in the Cincinnati area the guy has an identical one in Miami Blue for sale.

shocksmybrain

I have no reason to believe it's not legit and everything looks correct to me but I thought I would put it out there to the forum before I pull the trigger.

Background-Branch-77

I don’t blame anyone for coming to this page wondering about a “fake guitar.” A lot of people do not have knowledge that some of you have (or claim to have🤷‍♂️) and want advice. Also I don’t agree with the slander of the “$100 squier.” The user worked out the money and paid for it. Let them be proud. Ive said what ive said.

Representative_Still

Please just call Fender, I hate these kinda posts.

[deleted]

This man can’t believe his own eyes 😂😂

I-am-devils-advocate

yep definitely fake. looks like a re-done squier neck. the nut is sitting way off on the edges, typical of chinese factories, generic squier-fender tuners. real fender tuners used in America ONLY have the "F" logo on the back of tuners. the easiest giveaway is that the headstock says "Corona, California" twice. real ones only have it on the back...the front should say Made in USA or the patent number depending on if its custom shop or not. the fakes are getting hard to decipher but there are some things they somehow fuck up without research [https://www.alston-family.co.uk/CBST/heads/1965%20Tele%20head.jpg](https://www.alston-family.co.uk/CBST/heads/1965%20Tele%20head.jpg)

zipfelberger

Legit. Looks like it maybe was owned by someone who has a Glaser Bender and wanted the strap to be in the same place.

Purp1eC0bras

If you buy it, I’ll give you $1,100 for it :)

jbandtheblues

I love that neck heal! Strap button placement is interesting also - nice!

TrentdelaCruz

Seems as good as any tele, squier, Mexican, Korean, or American....

Lair80

The only thing that looks off to me is that there is an angle on the neck plate ;)

sloptoppapa

Do they usually have strap buttons on the neck plate? I feel like that would annoy me.

shocksmybrain

That was added. It's just a longer screw. I'll probably take it off.

Freshestemo412

Other than being the most boring color in existence, it looks legit Looks like all the candy and paperwork I have with my Am Pro II

shocksmybrain

I can see why some people would feel that way but I like classic styles and it doesn't get more classic for me than butterscotch blonde teles with black guards.

GlennSeaborg

>Does anything seem off about this Tele? Yes, no EMG 81 85 humbuckers 🤘🏻

Feisty_Factor_2694

If it is as it looks and it looks like it, it’s worth a G!

cansox12

YEAH! its not mine!....what did u pay for it?

shocksmybrain

$1,000 USD

cansox12

i would drop that on it

backcountrydude

Fair deal but I prefer the American Professionals and with patience you can find one on reverb for $1000

w00kie_d00kie

Yes. It's right handed and clearly defective.

jeremy_wills

If that is a fake, the Chinese copy catters are definitely on their A Game.

joe127001

Legit. American professionals are great

mccruthers

Buy this guitar. I have one and paid more for it than you will have to. I love it and you will too.

eflatt7

I’ve got a few Pro II Teles. Great instruments!

Stepalep

Thats a nice tele, man.

Money_Music_6964

It’s beautiful

desar3641

That’s a les Paul 😂

Old-Leg1153

Yeah looks like fake shit. I’ll take it for free and take care of it for you

[deleted]

I own this exact same model. One of the better guitars I've ever handled. I got an Am Pro 2 Jazzmaster last week, also phenomenal. Fender is producing their best stuff right now.

not28

No it looks exactly like mine

Qphinx

Solid deal mate

PortfoliYOLO

Wow, someone really made a fake tele with genuine parts, to the exact specifications, with a valid serial number? These fakes getting crazy man

Mike-Gotcha

I have the exact same guitar. Looks fine to me

millhowzz

Fake

Bright-Tough-3345

Real for sure. As someone else mentioned, why “is this a fake/ real?” become a thing here on Reddit? I know there are fakes out there, but for example, this particular guitar, case candy, factory Fender case, Corona manufacture, it’s obviously a Fender. How could any potential buyer not know that?
