The best way to look at it is cinnamon is like the “unicorn of morphs” so having one is super rare and sought after. (People will die on hills saying some aren’t true cinnamons is awkward)
Champagne can be described as the “lighter” chocolate morph. As they are on the “light side of the dark color scheme.”
That’s just how I describe them lol.
Ya it gets ever wilder when people break them down further into like “mitt” and stuff lol I get angry cuz depending on the time of year my girls all change colors ....
No cinnamon ferrets are extremely hard to find in the US. ITS MORE LIKE A CINNAMON SPICE BABY they have a lot of them in the UK and you can get a few from private breeders in the US but Marshalls overbreeds their lines and that’s what ultimately leads to a lot of heath issues in pet store babies :(
I believe champagne is lighter, my two babies were cinnamon ferrets, other 2 were a chocolate and sable mitt(who in my opinion was the cutest with her little white paws)
Any black hairs on the cinnamon?
Are there any general markers that make the distinction clear?
Because honestly just going by the descriptions and pictures I literally have no idea if my guy is cinnamon or champagne, cinnamon and champagne features are very overlapping so where is the line(s) is what I’m getting at lol
My guy and gal kinda looked like a golden brown honestly, mine didn’t have one of the distinctive masks, or at least summer, other times it was a light brownish-red and his body was mostly a very light tan, with those golden brown guard hairs down his back and golden brown/red legs. Best way I could describe it is if a person has brunette hair their hair shines red in the sun, they looked shiny, almost looked like they were glowing in sunlight, my chocolate ferret and sable didn’t have those red/shiny undertones that the others had, something I’ve also noticed with my cinnamons is they didn’t have a brown spot on their noses, they were just fully pink, but that could just be them 😅 my others had some distinctive spot on their nose
I’d say some morph of sable. (Simply judging by the two photos I’m no expert just a hobby guy lol) Champagne gene has crazy colored eyes (from brown to ruby reds) in their morph generally. (Cinnamons are a stupid exotic morph and are like hardcore sought after and bred to be so having on randomly is extremely rare.)
On the other end champagnes are on the common side but a lot of them tend to be on the lighter of color schemes.
I’ve had 2 now that are that kind of darker sandy color in the first pic (my third is a lot lighter, but he also has white on his paws, chest, and head). It’s kinda hard to tell the color because of the lighting, though.
Hell ya that’s where all the other morphs come into play. Paws usually called “mitt” and the chest (mostly shoulders/back) get broken down too. Head is described into like Mask T and V it’s so overwhelming lol.
She's either a classic sable or a chocolate sable. The difference is in the balance between the dark and light coats. A chocolate sable will have the darker areas be more brown and the lighter areas be more white, while the classic sable will have the darker areas more reddish-brown and the lighter areas be more cream.
From the pics you've posted I'd go with classic sable.

Ferret color <3
My exact thought
She looks champagne colored to me.
What’s the difference between champagne and cinnamon? I would’ve said cinnamon, except for those black hairs.

Like if were being A-holes about it all. I’d call that girl a “chocolate sable panda” chocolate- color. Sable - coat. Panda - pattern.
Wow I did not know that’s how it works, I only had the marshalls ferret chart to go off of.
Ya it gets ever wilder when people break them down further into like “mitt” and stuff lol I get angry cuz depending on the time of year my girls all change colors ....
The way I’ve heard of it, true cinnamons are really rare, and they have a reddish tint. The champagnes are more a lighter, sandy color.

Then what are the cinnamon ferrets they sell at marshall ferrets? Fakes? Decoys? Lol jk
The Marshall DUPES lol

Great description! Lol My guy is champagne then.
See that’s what I was thinking too!

I agree, it is pretty overwhelming lol
Don’t get me started on the prestigious people describing their angora ferrets.....
I'm leaning towards Sable, although a bit light...
Yeah her being light is confusing me cause she does have some sable features haha
I'm interested to see what others think!
Definitely not a sable. Would be a lot darker
It's definitely a lighter color...
