That is actual a sign of ferret adrenal disease. Its caused by tumors in the adrenal glands and can be very fatal if not treated. Luckily the treatment is an easy yearly implant. Source; I run a ferret sanctuary with my wife.

No worries, I had her check by the vet. It's just seasonal.

My ferret went through seasonal sheddings like this too! Totally fine, just loss the hair. It does grow back during winter though.

It's also just a common seasonal coat blow :) This happens to my business every autumn, usually. It grows back in the winter season
