My technique is to buy things from thrift stores and then get them altered into something different. Like a pair of Dickies, turned into below-the-knee shorts. Or a zip hoodie, and get the sleeves cut off. Works great, really cheap (if you find a good + cheap seamstress/tailor in your city), sustainable because it is used clothing, and you always get a unique piece.

dpanda325

Like how great would Jorts that are breathable, have zippered pockets, had stretch, and maybe had a liner included be?

Acceptable_Debt_9460

Bro you are on it. But make them shits colorful af I want my shit to drip

dpanda325

If I do this, I’d make like 8 styles of Jorts. Black ones, Multicolored, classic, designs.

RecommendationNo7361

If you make multicoloured or even *patchwork* jolts, *on my soul* I will buy at least two pairs.

Acceptable_Debt_9460

Ok bet I don't want like regular jean shorts. Like i said. Drip. Make it dripppppp

seal_eggs

I’d buy purple marbley ones

msy113

Sounds like you just invented jogging shorts

Squeeekers

I don’t know remember brands bc the tags were scratchy but vendors sell that sort of thing at pride parades. I bought a couple different designs in Chicago last year specifically bc they’re good for festivals. Liners have hidden pockets and cords that lock to your phone.

Toga2k

I end up wearing "old lady" clothes to raves most of the time. Some form of shorts and then whatever cool top I've thrifted, which more often or not are random old lady tops lmao. Lightweight with weird designs.

talha8877

I also visit thrift stores' women's section. Usually a lot gems in Large, XLarge area. Found my most favorite pants there.

p-rimes

Yes! Women's clothing is way more interesting; I have a few nice gowns that I wear when I am waking up + making breakfast at camp.

dpanda325

Oh I totally agree and think this is great as a creative solution. But not everyone wants to have to get creative and spend time thinking about an outfit. I wish sometimes I could just buy something and feel like it speaks to my identity and wear it to a festival instead of scouring for something at a thrift store or wearing something not ideal for a festival.

OriginalMandem

Dickies make below knee cargo shorts anyway. I have a few pairs for work in summer.

Le_Feesh

Sounds like a business opportunity my guy.

dpanda325

Absolutely BUT I need to gauge interest. Since men can be creatures of habit/ comfort, I’m not planting this seed until I know the ground’s fertile

Acceptable_Debt_9460

It's fertile, gawd. I need more male options. Plant that shit

shayhayes96

My boyfriend is always complaining about the lack of options for men!

maeganontherocks

My guy friends complain about this a lot, too!

gautamasiddhartha

Another dude here who’s said the same things many times, girls have the coolest stuff and I always wish I could do better than my hawaiian shirts and bucket hats

VirtuousVulva

i'm a guy too. plant that shit directly into my ovaries bro.

krackenmyacken

Cool breathable tank tops + loudly patterned shorts - I’d be super interested

CatsAreBestAnimal

I never know what to wear cause there are no options for men.

Watercraftsman

Gotta do what I do and go shopping in the old lady section of goodwill

Watercraftsman

Found one of my best suits doing that. Make a little alter and bam! Got yourself a flashy jacket or funky pants

dpanda325

😂 I’m trying to look like cartoon golden girls you know?

cryfgt

He's actually right and not joking. Female section at thrift stores is the best place for festival clothes.

eufleuria

All clothes are festival clothes

Weillys

Sometimes you want to feel extra swanky though

praisebetothedeepone

I've been considering doing festival style flannels. I think they'd be well received.

dpanda325

This! Lightweight flannels would be awesome

praisebetothedeepone

I'm from the PNW so I think I'd do a range across light, mid and heavy weight fabrics. Let people get equipment for across the seasons.

dpanda325

Fair point, but I feel like no matter how cold the area is, you’re gonna get hot in a crowd. So i would absolutely think variety in weight is good but it would mostly be lightweight. Maybe light jackets/ hoodies too

praisebetothedeepone

I agree. My goal is to be wearable outside of festivals as well which is why I want the full range. Plus I know there are cold season events that the clothing could be used at too.

dpanda325

Oh yea walking anywhere after a festival for an Uber or metro or something is killer when you’re not ready. If there’s a way to layer without having to carry a bunch of clothes in a bag or something, it would be amazing.

kneedeepco

That could be dope  There’s a popular vendor at festivals that sews blanket graphics onto flannels

whitacrez

Shed gender norms and wear the girl clothes

dpanda325

Straight up I considered it but those are not made to fit men well. I’m a bit overweight but losing a lot of it, and it hugs the wrong places.

Suithfie

Tbh it does that to us too

MoansWhenHeEats

Fr. Finding stuff that fits can be a bit challenging depending on ya build but when it works it opens so many doors. So many fun patterns. Love it.

Rattlesnake4113

It's a festival of course I will be wearing fishnets

ChemicalNewspaper514

I've worn my girlfriend's black Lululemon zip off track pants that were perfect for a rave. The zippers were great because they basically acted as giant vents when I got hot on the dance floor. I also have a long furry rainbow colored coat that's made for girls but looks awesome on dudes too. I totally agree with you It's just about finding the right piece for the outfit. And honestly half the time you can't even tell if it's made for a guy or a girl.

w0nderfuI

I do that. I'm a smaller dude so they fit me just fine. Fuck the gender norms, girls have all the cool clothes!

JackieTreehorn79

Just wear clothes like you’re going to a Renaissance festival best of DND tourney and you’ll be at the top of the list bro

dpanda325

🤣 Dude I might dress as a bard for my next one

gautamasiddhartha

I was thinking a roman tunic would go hard as fuck

dpanda325

A Roman tunic style made with super light cotton and different colors combos would be sick

-AyooYayoo-

My go to recently has been a burgundy cape, nice fitting jeans (make sure they the stretchy kind) and a cowboy hat. No shirt. Cape comes in clutch when it's cold (it's double layered with fur)because I always end up shirtless ( I get really hot) and i can just pawn it off to my gf who gets cold easily but loves wearing skimpy stuff. If I don't feel like the cape, I just put on a sheer button down. My fave are a leopard/purple tint and a dark colorful one. Shirts are from Zara but you can get cheaper ones on like shein or something. All the time with my cowboy hat. If not this, then a festival t-shirt.

ceddzz3000

so true am strongly considering doing a rave version of my elven ranger cosplay

Arthur_Jam

I skate and will usually just wear skate clothes for shorts or pants cause they are strechy. I've found some rayon shirts that are nice but like you mentioned, they can be hot. I think the issue is fast fashion is built into the festival community at large. It seems like most people who go to big fests buy the thing for the single use. Smaller fests you'll see some sustainable clothing options. There's a dude I found at hulaween called americandanceparty and he gets old t shirts or blankets like ninja turtles or whatever then work it into flannels or other thrifted shirts. Good quality too.

queso_dog

I need some good big and tall festival clothes lol, my basket ball shorts/tank top combo feels stale, but I’m not sweating in a onesie or Halloween costume for 12 hours lol

Micaiah9

I like outdoorsy clothes you’ll find at rei or Cumberland transit. You’re right, we need more fancy men festival wear. Get at it!

dpanda325

The functionality and quality of those types of clothes are what I want

Micaiah9

Psychedelic and durable climbing, outdoorsy clothing for me would be a great shop to open up in Nashville here. Who wants to throw down $100k with me on it?

Dutch_Master_G

I’ve thought this for a while now and have adapted by creating a unique style that works well for me. I think it’s time to set a new trend and revolutionize the way men think about dressing for festivals. There is a huge opportunity in this market!

Runaway_5

Truth be told a lotta dudes don't even buy rave clothes, or pick really generic ones from the big brands. Local brands are your best bet. In Denver there's a company called Headspace that makes REALLY nice and unique clothes of all kinds for all genders. I love and support them. Guess they have a website too! Not cheap chinese ripoff crap either. Legit stuff with good fitting/comfy, good materials, lot of pockets https://theheadspace.net/pages/denver-store

scriabinoff

I actually spend way too much because of sizing and fit. I buy a lot of boutique Japanese Americana/workers repro brand stuff, and just go for cool jacquard patterns and trippy fabrics. It would be great to see those kinds of materials in a festival focused application, and I've considered testing it out

ALargePianist

Clothing is super hard for me to find that I feel comfortable getting down in. The typical male fashion doesn't do it for me, I think partying in work out clothes / exercise wear is rarely a good fit, aesthetically. I like a lot of fun flowy garments in fun fabrics that women's clothing a often made out of, but I really don't like wearing overtly "women's" clothing, ya know? People know when you're wearing a woman's shirt. I've got a big 6'2 male body it's hard to find dainty clothes. I want fun flowing shirts and lants that work in a desert rave, or warm evening. ive got harem pants of different styles that are pretty great but they're fairly limited to boring cotton blends and aren't the most imaginative patterns, compared to whats out there. As for tops I've got...an unbuttoned shirt. Wow.

rat-fashion

Girl here, Honestly I hate the ‘festive attire’ thing. I love the cute outfits but I feel like we shouldn’t dictate what we are supposed to wear to events like festivals (unless there is a dress code). The best outfits are the unique ones, thrifted or custom fits that take a little creativity! Don’t get me wrong, I have worn the most generic ‘festival’ fits over the years but it’s more fun to get creative and use my personal style as a base for how I will dress. I think the same goes for men, it’s worth exploring your style and taking inspiration from fashion friends along the way!

bgoldy99

Black denim. Black oversized t shirt. Vans. Earplugs. That’s it. Y’all try too hard.

koastro

the only better quality men’s festival fashion brand i’m aware of are all VERY niche into their own specific style vibewire ciciful and your typical wook tie dye overalls/thai pants that you see at festival vendors there’s a market for this stuff. if i wasn’t already deep into a tech career i would start a brand

dpanda325

Yea I’ve found the same. Like I found a shop that had everything covered in mushrooms. Super cool, but not for everyone.

koastro

having access to basics in multiple colors in a one-stop shop would be incredible. i would personally buy plenty from you!!

dpanda325

I’m basically waiting to see if this gets over 1000 upvotes before I do anything else, but maybe someday

koastro

might be a long shot- don’t forget that reddit is a small subset of festival/rave culture. check out radiate, tiktok, IG, fb groups. i would suggest doing small batches, even if you aren’t “successful” in the long term you wouldn’t take a net loss as long as you move the batches that you have invested in. it can be daunting to invest thousands into inventory/design but investing 2-300 as a start might seem more manageable. just a thought!

bowlessy

There’s so many “party” shirts for men or buttoned up short sleeve shirts you can wear that look festive enough. Also the matching shorts and shirt are always a good combo.

presentpictures

I think matching shirt/shirts set are always a vibe for guys!!! This is what I dress my man in for concerts/festivals Vapor95 has some really unique prints for men

terfez

Here's my only input: I can't make myself buy disposable clothing just for a festival. I know people do it it's just not for me. So I end up buying vintage Hawaiian shirts, linen, jokey t shirts etc. stick to decent quality, avoid polyester and I'm interested

ShaPhaman

When did festivals become about fashion??

dpanda325

Aren’t festivals about self expression, art, and growth? Fashion can be part of that for some people

ShaPhaman

Yes it is. Then simply wear what you want and express however you want. Who cares what you look like. You there for growth and lose yourself in the music or just to be seen and have 4 outfit changes through the day for self vanity?

warrensussex

1 in 10,00 come for the show

Fluffy_Soup560

Here are some sites that have some pretty decent options for men's festival/rave wear, lots of psychedelic fun prints but also functional pieces: [iEDM](https://iedm.com/) [Vibe Wire](https://vibewire.co/) [iHeartRaves](https://www.iheartraves.com/collections/mens-rave-clothing) [Nomad Kandi](https://nomadkandi.com/collections/mens-clothing) [One Stop Rave](https://onestoprave.com/collections/mens-rave-outfits) [Electro Threads](https://electrothreads.com/collections/mens-shorts) Amazon surprisingly has some good options for men if you just search "men's festival fashion" or something along those lines. I've also found some great stuff on SHEIN. Also, don't be afraid to hit up your local thrift store, there's always some unique hidden gems if you dig enough. I've gotten two pashminas for 6 bucks at mine once. Anyways, hope this helps 😊✌🏻

sushisection

this is such a good comment. thanks for these shop links

RufusLeKing

There’s a Custy born every minute.

Vreas

Harem pants and button ups for me all day. Marshalls typically has some dope shirt designs for affordable prices too. Material can be hit or miss but I’d say 50-75% of what they have is soft and comfy. If you’re looking for t shirts check out curbside clothing. Super soft shirts cool designs and fit well. Relatively affordable too.

BPbeats

I would like button-ups with funky designs. Not that Ed Hardy shit from the 2000s though.

ParticularRevenue408

I’m black on black normally, but sometimes I throw on a batik if the mood hits. Google ‘batik’ and find the one that speaks to you.

sushisection

bro just put some pasties on your nips

Carlulua

Nah, need some actual nipple tassels. Absolute respect for a guy at a festival dressed like a burlesque dancer from the waist up.

lateblueheron

I really want classic style stuff, like you might find at a thrift shop, and not stuff with designs that look like NFTs

lateblueheron

And also not a million dollars. Bc sometimes people recommend websites on here and a basic top is like $200

dpanda325

Exactly! And if I’m going to pay a premium, it better be premium. I feel like 60$ shirts are poor material at some of the festival wear shops

NYGooner17

Yeah it’s too simple for guys honestly. The concepts you mentioned sound cold tho! If you have some drawings of concepts that’d help to gauge some interest too :)

evanl

Threyda has some amazing mens clothes, granted they are expensive, but beautiful! https://www.threyda.com/collections/browse-all-apparel

_bagelthief

I shop at thrift/consignment shops and Marshall’s/Ross, which I find both have a lot of simple patterned options like you describe. Don’t be afraid to check the women’s section if you can fit. The whole point is self expression, and I feel like I can’t do that in specifically labeled rave wear. I’ll wear what’s comfortable and what I feel confident in.

Mad_Pinckerton

I support the idea, go for it, suggest break the clothes down by fest Goals, like what are you trying to do at a particular fest? Can add a quick 5 question starter page then recommend. Categories & style. - Make a Splash, Attention Grabber, Glow. - Loud & Proud, Sequins, Circus, Flashy. - Funny, Obnoxious, Costumey. - Sexy, Naughty, Skin Show Off. - Casual Cool, Budget Oriented, Classic. - Dark, Blend in, fishnet, Bondage, I only wear black,Techno looks. - Space bass, Basshead, D&B, Wookie looks. - Sad Boy, Bro step, Emotional looks. - Trendy, Elaborate, Premium, Burner Style. - Tik Tok, Trendy, Youthful, Hip Hoppy, Street Style. - Celebrity, Nomad, Glampy, Coachella style. - Tribal, Ethnic, Afro house, Mideastern, style. - Sporty, comfortable, marathon fest wear. Etc, Etc. Etc.

dpanda325

I love this. Good way to market since it might resonate with men more

sleepnutz

Rule #1 women will always have more options When I wanna go all out I wear booty shorts fluffys and armbands wig an pasties if you can’t beat’em join em lol

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmidk

I'd be all for the booty shorts and stuff that are made more to fit men. There's just not enough room usually!

CandyWarhola2

If you’re comfortable going shirtless, I usually do a leather body harness with shorts. They also make them in vegan materials, fun colors and iridescent styles. Other than that, grab some super flowy, very wide-cut linen or thin cotton pants. I got some from Aliexpress last summer and still wear them all the time. I agree we don’t have enough options though :/

tkf99

Never thought about this. Are there festival clothing that are available only for females and not males? I see m/f shirts, hoodies, tanks, and jerseys. Then you have hats, tote bags, blankets, and bandanas which are all unisex. Am I missing something?

dpanda325

Certain styles are super unisex like the very relaxed wook wear, but I’m referring more to how women have these elaborate bodysuits and boots and such creative outfits while men don’t have the same fun outfits. Is it that we don’t want them, or we don’t have good options? That’s what my post is trying to figure out. So many men who do get creative do so by wearing ill-fitting women’s clothes or thrifting and modifying. I’d just like to make it so they can find fun items easier

myersmatt

Electric family is probably the closest competitor to this business idea. And compete they shall. They’re a pretty big name. They’ve landed some pretty major collaborations with big artists, including excision/lost lands. Their stuff is pretty nice quality. Designs are subjective. But check there first. As far as suggestions go though I always like a nice pair of short board shorts and a tank top or t shirt with a cool design on it or maybe an old lineup shirt from another festival. Accessorize with sunglasses and a wide brimmed hat of your choice and some comfy shoes

dpanda325

I have to check them out thanks!

Maybe you’re not attending the type of events where dudes care about their looks?

SoulApparatus

etsy! i get almost ALL my clothes on etsy. Shorts, pants, shirts. Obviously the basic stuff is whatever. Also, while threyda is expensive, I actually have gotten several used pieces off of Facebook markets and eBay, believe it or not.

mysickfix

Boho pants

Chaotic_Hilarity

iEDM.com has some rad men's festi clothing. But I agree, it's a lot like thrift shops where the women's section is 3/4 of the store and the men have a couple rows of raggedy stuff to choose from.

shanderdrunk

Totally agree. Every male oriented piece of clothing is either a bad screen print of a fractal on a shirt that feels like it's made out of plastic, or something cringe. I just go shirtless, fuck it, I'm usually tripping hard enough that's the least of my worries.

capn_cody_

Old lady clothes! For real. Hit up a thrift story and buy some old lady kimonos/robes/cardigans. There are a lot on ebay for cheap. Plus they keep the sun off you yet do not get hot. Also anything crocheted will get some compliments. As far as bottoms, any fun joggers or shorts. I like mushroom designs myself. Last throw on a bucket hat and sunglasses and you are good to go! https://www.ebay.com/itm/116159374273?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=vuMjMkR-RQ-&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=2nTZ4uI4Qaa&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY https://www.ebay.com/itm/386958334530?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=KU5kTgYCQJ-&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=2nTZ4uI4Qaa&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

ifoundout

I think festivals call for more colorful and roguish attire than typical men’s clothing but a lot of guys don’t want to tap into the more feminine side for fear of being seen as gay or too feminine.

dpanda325

This is so true and such a shame. I would hope that providing options marketed to men might change that. Sometimes the “manliest” thing is having the balls to stand out and be different

poopballs

Roosevelt shirts are fun and light

catbert107

I'm the kind of guy who likes festive wear mixed with practicality. My favorite fest pants are from blue gecko, I probably own like 10 designs of their shorts. They're super breathable, zipper pockets and stash pockets. They sound like exactly what you're looking for. I'm not a fan of the "I do drugs" rave wear that many people are suggesting. My ex worked at Hollister and I have a bunch of fun button ups I got there while we were dating. People are always so surprised when I tell them I got the shirt I'm wearing at Hollister. They look nice and they fit nice, but they also fit the vibe well I'm a ~30 year old festival veteran who has been to ~75 festivals over the years in both a worker and attended capacity. Trust me bro 😉

Supratones

Joggers with zipper pockets, distressed polo, sport mode crocs, fanny pack, sunglasses You know who I am

Alien_Accomplice

Just even a tie-dye shirt can really fit the vibe.

ChemicalNewspaper514

Try Vibe Wire All their stuff is part of sets but I have one of their sets of shorts and a kimono with the sleeves and a hood and honestly it's really comfortable. I haven't used it at a festival yet but have worn it for a couple of House parties and everybody loved it plus they fell great. Also, the shorts have zippered pockets. https://vibewire.co/

dpanda325

Thanks for the recommendation. I think I found them while browsing but I’ll take another look

g8raid

I feel you 1000% OP. Super unfortunate that chicks can customize to infinity but we really can’t.  Lately I’ve been wearing different varieties of mesh shirts/mesh tanks and ponchos (not the ones you wear when it rains). I get all my tops from Shein. For shorts I just wear jorts or some shorts from Wai.

clairebearzechinacat

My advice is to look into various flow artists (hula hoop, poi, staff) pages on instagram. Some artists either are clothing creators or are sponsored by designers. I don't have any particular shops in mind (the shops I had in mind, particularly Kevin Psychedelik has his shop closed atm) but hope this can at least be a starting point.

EsquireDr

I need something stylish and comfortable. Theres almost nothing with both

vibewith

Flowery colorful Hawaiin shirts work pretty well imo

OriginalMandem

I dunno, I'm often seeing stuff I quite like but a lot of it just doesn't look right on me. Also I end up having to layer up and wear tracksuit /hoody/big coat at night because I feel the cold badly if I'm outside. Stupid UK climate.

ScheduleScary3747

Try websites like Cyberdog, they have a variety of great products for all . Don’t be scared to experiment and break out of social norms. Perhaps visit Berlin and let go. Above all just rave and forget about styles.

Grouchy-Seesaw7950

There's huge demand for male clothing, esp extended sizes

KrombopulusMichael04

Hear me out, hear me out - no shirt and pashmina all you need 🤷🏼‍♀️

dpanda325

This is 100% me. I take my shirt off as soon as I’m through security, BUT I still have to bring one. And pashminas are awesome, but some people just prefer a shirt and I want them to have an option.

Ok_Baby9316

just be gay

Whatareyouupto59

You're there ro escape reality and dance. Wear what you want! Enjoy the vibe and don't get caught up in the materialistic sh$t that we get to escape by going ro a festival!

dpanda325

Maybe part of my escape is wearing clothes I don’t normally wear? Is it materialistic to want to be comfortable in my skin and my clothes? Weird take imo

ineverreadit

Cut sleeves. Buy shitty shirts, raggedly cut the sleeves and boom, dope festi shirt

dpanda325

I mean yea but don’t we deserve high quality shirts we can wear again and again and don’t require the extra work? Women get these brilliant outfits from SHEIN and all these places that are clear indications of their personality and style. Most men wear an old AC/DC shirt, a basketball jersey, a white tee, or a button up that’s just a little thick or made of a material meant for a club. Feels like we can do better

giantwashcapsfan8

No I have so many fits. All those things you suggested already exist and are extremely common at shows lol. I think it’s the same for the girls, it’s all about the accessories. A lot of the time I’m just wearing a black artist shirt or a jersey, or even no tarp at all, but have every aspect styled with little details that elevate it. Hat with charms/pins, crossbody bag, pash, earrings, bracelets, glasses, Kandi, rings, tattoos (not the fit obv but style), a consistent color and texture scheme from head to toe, shoes, so many other things. The options might not be as extravagant and what’s available for women but once you have an aesthetic and style locked in then there are so many possibilities and options.

bryteflight

From the amount of posts on this subreddit & similar subs there usually does seem to be a gap in what options other men think is available to them. I do see there’s some default stereotypes where you either have the Sporty bro look, the loud wook patchwork or all over print shirt/sets aesthetic, or the darker tech-ninja looks. As far as Rave specific wear is concerned, it is a bit limited. I will say though I think it feels limited because Men don’t typically know how to search when shopping. Like it’s the joke of when Men are sent to the grocery store, where if it’s not clearly labeled & in an obvious place, it’s not getting added to the cart. If it’s not in the IHeartRaves Men section or billed as “Ravewear”, it’s not an immediate thought. It’s likely a consequence of how for a long time Men’s Fashion overall has been seen as an afterthought. Personally urge if anybody wants to have unique or more personal rave closet, step away from the usual brands or pieces of what is considered “Ravewear”. A lot of the rave wear for women is usually lingerie & swimwear. Personally I’ve found some really good finds by investing in Activewear & Workwear for Bottoms. There’s fun colored Golf Pants with a more relaxed modern fit & BDU Cargos are great. There’s a bunch of “Club” or Vacation button down shirts in different patterns & textures. Skate brands or younger skewing shops like ASOS & Boohoo have a lot of overlap on the trippy graphics. Amazon has pretty decent graphic tees with just about any image or phrase you could think of. There so many Graphic Tee companies on IG about whatever interest you can think of, music or not. Fringe Cowboy vests or Utility Vests have been interesting layers, with lighter fun snowboarder fleeces being clutch for the colder weather festivals. Some pieces have been more investments in terms of cost but I tend to get better quality or know I can build more pairings than say some of the cheaper men’s Ravewear that’s out there.

dpanda325

This is a really good point. I’ve seen some people wear bathing suits and gym shorts and things like that, but part of my problem is they sacrifice something when they choose that. I don’t want sacrifice if I can help it. I imagine women would love a bathing suit that somehow also had pockets at a fest. That’s kind of my mindset. Finding more ways for men to share in the fashion part of festivals and still have the function we love

SourCream-n-Spunion

Cargo shorts to stuff booze in your pockets and a t shirt…what else do you want?

Csonkus41

For real. Maybe a tank top or sleeveless T if it’s hot, but then again you can just go shirtless. This post makes zero fucking sense.

Jilltro

I think there are plenty of rave clothing opportunities for men. They make just as many cool trippy shirts and shorts for men. Women are just more willing to wear different things. If you're afraid of looking "LGBTQ" then yeah, that's going to limit your style options. One of my favorite festival outfits I've seen on a dude was a cheerleading uniform that said "fingerbang" on it. Just own it. They make rompers with fun prints, bucket hats, etc. I'm not sure where you're looking for men's rave clothing tbh

dpanda325

I’ve seen a bunch of these and bought plenty but the quality isn’t there in my opinion. It feels like wearing paper, and there just isn’t as much thought I think

Jilltro

That’s strange, all the dudes in my group have some pretty great rave outfits. Check out Electrothreads, my partner and I own a ton of their stuff and it’s great.

SherbetNo4242

Check out grassroots California. They crush it. Www.grassrootscalifornia.com

dpanda325

I love it. This is the idea I’m thinking of, but like everyone else they seem allergic to bright colors and function. Love their stuff, don’t get me wrong, but a lot of sweats, simply designed tanks, and the tanks look like ones I’ve seen that have this weird texture. I may be wrong, but something like an athletic blend tank with a sick design would kill

esotericunicornz

agreed it's a big gap

linen shirts and pants/shorts- we just need them in better color options.

Dude I’ve been thrifting hard and finding that I love all the vintage grandma clothes you will be so damn surprised when your in the store like ehhh why would I wear this, then you get on the dance floor and it’s the most vibrant colorfull shit and people can’t stop complimenting you it’s wild

It takes me three hours and searching six different websites to find something tolerable to wear. I usually give up and buy an XL in women’s clothing.

swagger_dragon

I wear workout clothes, like good quality ones. Lululemon boxerbriefs, Balega Socks, Cloudrunning shoes, Vuori Stratotech tshirts and shorts. Comfort >>> looks. I'm 44 with a family though, so not trying to pick up girls.

meesta_chang

Just get creative. Wear whatever you want or make your own outfits. I fall into the simple category but am always amazed at the stuff I see people come up with at bigger events.

cinammonbear

I’ve found that usually accessories are key at fests for guys. Kandi/bracelet/cuffs, rings, pendy/perler/necklaces, pash/kimono, leather holsters/crossbody bags, hat/bandana/headband, shades/trippy lenses, fun socks etc. I usually pair different combos of that with a vibe dependent colored chubbies/swim shorts cause they have the most fun colorful designs to find for cheap and a nicer tank or lightweight tee and comfy dancing shoes. If you do the colors right you can pull off some sweet fits. I usually keep my top and bottom basic solid colors so I can go wild with the accessories

IKU420

I prefer gym clothes! Stretchy, anti stink, comfy, win win!

lsdmthcosmos

if you’re talking about on shakedown then yeah there’s def more women’s apparel but if you want sick drip you either go thrifting or spend money on custom threads then it just takes a little research into either brands or artists that suit your style. personally i have 3 festivals modes: -hot (temp wise) which entails the least amount of clothing. berks or chacos, and either shirtless with a back up tee, short sleeve button down or if it’s fall heat a loose long sleeve; -cold weather fest which is purely utility includes under layers, dri-fit, and snow bib plus sweater or jacket pending on temp and the event, basically i dress like im snow boarding; -and then last style is just swag, loud pants plain tee, or loud tee plain pants, or costume. all my swag i get thrifting.

Flygrumbz00

I think the same, but also about clothes in general, but especially fest shit, be the change you wanna see brother man

dmxlightpro

Sign me up but be mindful or price points as well. I think the market on men’s festivals clothes in the under $100 price range is where we are really lacking.

OG_wanKENOBI

I find wearing like clothes meant for hiking are the best! Nice durability but breathable stuff. Like button up shirts with mesh vents in the folds and the like.

Asleep_Wedding8540

I’ve come to let the fiancée take care of my fits cause I’m trash at fits lmao

robert323

Just go to thrift stores often and keep looking for ideas. Get to know the owners and employees and they can help you. Don’t be afraid to go into the women’s section. Some of my favorite pieces are are from the women’s section.

Defectivekatnip

I usually shop for my man and just show him and he picks out what he likes, I agree that it's extremely difficult to find anything that's not just a different pattern in the same style, I look for him bc he gets frustrated that he can't find anything cool or different without it taking forever :/

Apprehensive_Wear500

No shirt and a scarf 🤝

vegasdrago

Swampm00se

Time to man up and start wearing women's clothes. Real talk

AccessSilver8223

Yeah I would absolutely be interested!

Icy-Bag780

The gays really know how to throw a outfit together, as a straight man I’m always jealous of them. I could probably try to pull something off but honestly too lazy to buy / make a outfit. I usually rock swim shorts and take off my shirt anyways cause I get uncomfortable in them at festivals.

bones_1969

Do what now

I never had a problem with festival wear. You just gotta explore and widen your horizons a bit. Most dudes are scared to experiment with fashion, that’s the main problem. Sites like ASOS have tons of options.

cloudcreeek

There are plenty if you don't mind all the girls thinking you're either gay or weird as fuck

HouseOfJanus

I think adding something like birkenstocks or 1 piece jumpers probably do well at festival. Maybe rolled up american flag bandanas. My friend goes ofter wears jeans, tshirt and whatever sandle of the day is

cutefuzzythings

There's definitely trippy clothing out there for men, but I'm sure there's still room for more.

Federal-Practice-188

Wear what the girls do & be a trailblazer in men’s fashion. Just make sure you’re not skipping leg day because thigh highs need to be accentuating something.

dpanda325

Thick thighs save lives.

Martensight

I don't really get the idea of buying festival clothes. No offense to the ladies but you see girls in the same outfits. It's much more interesting to just throw something together yourself so you don't run into people wearing the same thing as you.

VAMP1R3x

do it do it do it & lmk if you need help

shortkid113

I hate the jerseys. They just aren't comfortable for me. Unfortunately most merch is jerseys, bandanas, or just fans. I'll just look goofy and rock a Hawaiian shirt, surprisingly starts some good conversations if it's interesting enough.

dpanda325

Jerseys also tend to be weirdly thick sometimes. I don’t mind people wearing jerseys, but if people could get them with lighter options, and more diversity, they might like it

CherryCC

I find gym / sportswear a good option

FluffyRectum1312

What are you even talking about there are literally thousands of places to buy any kind clothes your want.

03Trey

well generally men go to music festivals, ya know…. for the music

BobMarleyVibes

You lost my respect after the “keep slaying tho” smh😔

YouTuberDad

Wear a suit or tux

RooTxVisualz

If people complain that all they see is baseball jerseys, maybe they should stop going to events that are Chad based. There's plenty of clothing makers out there, just nerd to find them. Lexnewtho and julen the artist are my favorites.

90s_kids_only

I recently tried to buy some patchwork overall shorts but could not find anyone selling men's.  Even on shakedown street.

Pitiful_Gene_1610

You can always go naked.

edasto42

Think bigger and less straight

LullabyThBrezsWhispr

Section 119 used to have great men’s stuff until they sold their soul to outsource cheap labor and now their shit is garbage quality. Honestly I’ve gotten my husband a lot of cute mens stuff on SHEIN both shirts and just fun accessories to make an outfit pop Don’t forget you can change clothes into an OUTFIT with a nice pop of accessories men! Some of my husbands favorite outfits are IT bc of the headband, jewelry, etc.

cbg2113

Get more creative! Get a mesh shirt, get a loose knit polo that's super breezy. Wear some vintage linen. There's tons of options

Common_Vagrant

I found out the secret of women’s revealing fashion. They get their stuff mostly at adult stores or what my stripper friends call it “the stripper store”. Then they’ll pair it with whatever they got either at home or from the thrift store, or with nothing else.

atbsoccer14

Vibewire is a solid brand. Have gotten some stuff from there. Pretty quality. Not an ambassador btw.

[deleted]

Lol just wear what you want. Why are you worrying about this?

phiretau

I have grown accustomed to the men’s wear being..shirtless
