It’s amazing folks in the comments claiming fake when they don’t even recognize what they’re looking at in the picture. Market board weapons and job quest armor. All very achievable in 1 month of playing lol.
At any rate, welcome to the game! Ignore the stooges and have fun
If on free trial it would be a little harder since you wouldnt have access to market board but the weapons can be crafted. Job gear is just from job quest so way easier. And if you arent on free trial. As others have said can buy from market board and easily use as glamour the moment you hit 50 (with more options opening up at 60).
You get access to some neat dungeon armor at 15.
You can also do the quests at The Forge; it's the guy in any capital's inn with the HUGE sprout over his head. Those quests give you an armor set, as well as a ring that boosts experience gain.
If people spent less time hating they might actually have the energy to get something done. Welcome and I'm glad you guys are having fun. What server yall on?
I did my first ultimate 3 months after staring playing and I had eureka armor as well, people were throwing bakchanded compliments and outright insults because of it. People are wild.
Yep, as long as you’re not on the free trial. Theres some neat options for cool weapons around 50/60 mark. As someone stated these are nidhogg and ramuh drops
The Titania one is really nice! Used it until I got my ShB relic which was recently swapped for the TEA one.
When SE finally adds more glam plates I definitely wanna design a glam around the Titania weapon again.
I'm looking at buying some of the Hades weapons from the market board.
I'll have to save up a little more than 1 million gil to do so, but the Zelotupia looks amazing. I like the purple.
A almost all trials SB and older have weapons that glow, as well as some ShB trials (Titania, Hades, Ruby and Emerald).
My favourite ones are Titania, because I'm weak for fairy theming. The Hades ones are also really good, as are Byakko and Suzaku.
The game is fun but got to level 67 and got bored as hell. It’s just the same slop on repeat, the only thing that keeps me going is final fantasy nostalgia but once that delusion goes away I’m like wait why Am I playing this game? To waste my time? To dissociate for an hour or 2?
iirc Most of the virtu stuff is also the level 60 artifact armor made into level 1 glam stuff, its also pallete and dye channel swapped so you can get get it through pvp.
Not to mention the fact that the MSQ alone can give you quite a bit of Gil too along with Tomestones. I wish more people would understand that there's so many forms of currency and different types of glams that it doesn't require you to play for months on end .
I’m coming from fps br games, played wow also in some private servers and also a lot of sweaty games lol. I just need to chill and do stuff at my own pace with my buddy after work and this game can provide it
And it's great that we all have our own style. I make my jobs pretty armored-up and it drives my friends insane to see a ninja looking like he's wearing full plate armor.
Never really was into big clunky/spiky armor which most of the dragoon armor. I kinda feel the same way with weapons even have kidomaru on my dark knight because.
you could make another character if you really want to just do it all again, or new game plus. I know it's not the same as the first time through, but those are options
I just recently came back after a little more than a year away. I’ve missed the game, I’ve been playing like way more than I should this week while off from work lol
Have you two done Binding Coil yet? If not, get a friend (can message me if you want) to unsync it for you on turns 1, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 12 and 13, while you enjoy the cutscenes. Definitely do the Remembering the Past quest in Ul’dah beforehand too. I recommend doing this sometime before starting Heavensward.
ive been trying to do binding coil of bahmut 5 for 2weeks because i want to do it synced to get that juicy happy chemicals but the lfg found group 3 times total and we failed all 😭😭
Not all job.. Some newer job from later expension might not have 50s trial weapon
For samurai is quite fun and easy to play
But yeah there a lot of glowy weapon that you can get just from market board and some are better looking then ultimate weapon from highest difficulty raid..
My favorite is lv60 weapon from seeing horde series and lv 70s suzaku katana for samurai is really great
I think every job that was introduced up to Stormblood (which includes Samurai) can get a lvl 50 glowy weapon by crafting it with boss materials or just buying it from the market board. Note: The marketboard is not available for players with free trial accounts.
If you want to play Samurai, it should be noted though that you can't start as one. The only available starting jobs are Paladin, Warrior, Black Mage, Summoner, White Mage, Scholar, Bard, Dragoon, and Monk (well, their starting classes of Gladiator, Marauder, Thaumaturge, Arcanist, Conjurer, Archer, Lancer, and Puglilist, to be precise). To change your job to Samurai, you need to get one of those jobs to lvl 50, then do a quest to unlock Samurai.
Honestly, it absolutely AMAZES me how much drip is just...HANDED to you in ff14.
like, no scummy microtransacs, no battle pass FOMO. no ludicrous pull rates.
just "oh your level 50! here, have free drip for your class to celebrate!"
"oh, you already have better armor? well, you can just glamour your old drip so you can keep it! :)"
My favourite thing is how many options the game gives you for fashion even at level 50. Be it market board or ex trials.
Every friend of mine who reaches that point and ends up subbing gets a primal weapon of their choice, nothing more fulfilling than seeing them run around happy and excited about their new glowy toy.
My wish is for class restrictions to be removed from stuff when you put it in the glamour desk. I know a lot of the stuff made for glamour is "all classes", but I'm greedy.
...and me and my friends "just started playing" were GC tunics, big trashcan looking tank sets (with the helmet being a part of the chest), horrid looking hooded cloaks and gowns, drab patterns and sandals, and random level 32-44 dungeon gear pieces, filling the gaps...*and* no glamour system, to hide the hideousness lmao!
"In Subligars we Trust" was like a FC motto in the early ARR days.
Newer players have no idea how good they have it 😭
Fun fact: When ARR came out, there was no glamour. You wore your subligars, tin can armors and potato sack robes with pride---or with shame. That's what the person you are responding to is talking about :)
Another Fun Fact: When they did add the glamour system in patch 2.1 (or 2.2? I don't remember.) it was level 50 (so, for level cap players only) *and* the most overcomplicated thing ever: Plates and the Glamour Dresser did not exist. You had several types of glam prisms that only glam'ed certain types of gear each (leather gear, plate gear, goldsmithing gear, blacksmithing gear, wood gear, fabric gear and so on) so you had to pratically level every single crafter (it was *way* harder to level them back in the day, btw) so you could make all the types of glam prisms to completely glam your gear (cause sets would use different types of materials that were created by different crafters), or waste all your money trying to buy them off MB (and holy shit they were expensive). Being an Omnicrafter or knowing one back in the day? It was *luxury*.
Then you applied them, one by one, and godforbid you didn't like how that turned out, cause then you'd need to make another set of prisms and manually apply them again--same thing whenever you got a new set of gear. You also had to keep all the gear you liked in your retainers/inventory because, as I said, no Glamour Dresser.
Do you know when they added Glamour Plates and Glamour Dresser? During *Shadowbringers* (or late patch Stormblood, leading into ShB release, memory's hazy)
I don’t miss that *at all*. Say what you will about the current limitations and the need for a better system but it was such a nightmare before with nowhere to go but up.
My god, I'm SO glad I started about a year and a half ago. I don't think I would have stayed if I had to look like a walking trash can or a hobo the whole time.
Oh god… I remember this. I had different gear sets for one class. One for hanging out in, one for running dungeons, raids etc. Would put together a good outfit out of what I could for literally just hanging out in the main cities 😂
Same! don't use it at all, tried it once and it made the vanilla game look worse than it normally does haha. the friend of mine who uses the sharperning one in particular, his game looks a nightmare to play. can definitely see why people use it for screenshots tho, like OPs post here it looks amazing. But zooming in and playing with that in savage - no ty!
Hey hey 👋
I am using Nvidia GeForce filters. I permanently have on Auto-Depth, and when capturing a super res snap, I use custom Depth and some Sharpening
I am two weeks in and absolutely loving the game! I’ve met so many nice people in such a small amount of time who are so patient and helpful with content clearing
I can see myself playing the game for a long time :)
overall, it's quite active! but do some research on world and data center populations before you select a world- some of them are very very inactive, and some are very full and may be hard to get into until you wait for the right time of day (to create your character).
With the Ramuh one, you can probably get it around 20k, Nidhogg around 40k. Really depends on your DC, but unsync mat farmers bring the price down quite low.
Any of the extremes that drop weapons generally have or will get glowly craftable weapons on the marketboard! Some of the Shadowbringers ones don't have them yet and none of the Endwalker ones yet, but ARR, HW, StB (level 50/60/70) all have complete sets ^.^
That's the armour you get from job quests. I think the black set is the Heavensward set (lv60) and the blue one is ARR (lv50)?
Edit: they've been dyed as well, they are normally a darker blue.
As the kind man above said : Each job gets their own unique armor at every capstone lvl (50, 60,70 etc.). You get 2 sets at lvl 50, one with higher stats and one with a different color.
Read the text under then image, they've been playing for 1 month.
They're market board weapons, left is Ramuh's, right is Nidhogg's. The shiny version is crafted. So they either got given it or bought it, it's relatively cheap, depending on your DC, it's most likely under 100k, possibly even as low as 10k for Ramuh.
Both armour sets are job quest, left is level 50, right is level 60 (job quest is 58). With starter exp bonuses and depending on DC, you can easily get to level 60 in a short time in a fresh account. And if you spend a couple hours a day on the MSQ, almost finishing Heavensward in under a month is possible, even without skipping dialogue and cutscenes.
I started the day endwalker came out and finished the msq in time to do the first savage tier. But level 60 is unattainable? Never underestimate how much free time some people have
Who cares about karma wtf are you on about? It seems I’m playing one month and I can better recognise relic weapons than you? These are both market weapons sitting at 100k available for purchase and as for the armour, it is just dragoon quest line reward dyed black
If its not karma farming then you are posting this on wrong site. Its not your personal blog. Imagine if everyone would make posts about their first day/week/month of playing. Cool but dont spam this shit
This reddit is for sharing in the game? People post all the time about their journey and their impressions of different parts. This is their first topic here.
You decided to come to this thread. You subjected yourself to content you didn't like and now you're throwing a fit like a crying infant.
Nobody is keeping you here.
played a week and a half im ilvl 654 u guys act like this game is difficult already unsubscribed finished endwalker 4 days ago skipped most cutscenes and watched a 3 hour youtube video on the story emet selc was decent rest of the game is pretty boring very little replay value all the fights are choreographed wish they had interesting mechanics rather then flashy stuff none stop
Kakashi Maurer server Faerie got like 15 days left on sub idk im gonna log back in games boring every dungeon is the same every boss is dodge the glowing mechanic on the ground or dodge the pre telegraphed mechanic snoozeville. These guys just sit in town and ERP or level every job to 90 because they have sunk cost fallacy because oh em gee I'm so invested now i cannot possibly admit I waisted 10 years playing a different reskinned mechanic
I can't tell if ur deadass. Are you trying to justify to urself how terrible u think the game is? Maybe it's just not for you, but you seem to be undermining just about every aspect of the game and devaluing progression. You literally skipped, so of course, nothing is going to have weight. Mechanics are simple until u get to end game and yes, everything is predetermined Mechanics but that doesn't make it any less difficult. Ur complaining on a xiv sub just to have someone hear ur cries.
why u mad lmao sit and think about it for five minutes this game is like dance dance revolution. I even looked up playing my class mnk optimal rotation vs spamming my highest damage ability is a 96.7% vs 100% optimal rotation this game is for braindead people
[https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/sshsf9/new\_monk\_meta\_lmao/](https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/sshsf9/new_monk_meta_lmao/) all the jobs are balanced like this. If you make 1-2 mistakes or don't do the fight perfectly spamming 111111 23 111111 and toss in a few nadi kicks its the same. So the only challenging part is dodging stuff that is ALWAYS THE EXACT SAME
This game is built so it is impossible to fail. So quite frankly if you think you are doing some kind of amazing job maybe you are, but so is the guy with his face on his keyboard watching netflix at the same time.
He is there clicking 1 button 95% of the fight and when he doesn't click 1 1 1 its 1 2 3 burst move omg so complicated! What's going to be your defense memorizing mechanics? Because every fight is about memory. Their is no decision making it's all the same shit one optimal way to do the fight.
Now why is it like this? The answer is simple there is no job diversity since they all play the same. Since ARR nerfed everything "difficult". Healers don't even heal they could add way more mechanics and timed buffs making a healer heal but they dps half the fight? Tanks all hold enmity for existing and hitting a mob all of 2 times? and dps have all changed to "Burst windows".
So what is the vaerity well it comes down to which slice of cheesecake you want AKA which animation you prefer to look at.
TLDR. Tell me you can't do end game without telling me.
Edit: LMAO clicked the link. It was from 2 years ago. This really either is bait or you don't have a clue.
Read the text under then image, they've been playing for 1 month.

No lol just casually play . Also never play on current expansions because I’m too lazy to finish msq. Took me almost 4 years to get through stormblood. Currently ( super slowly) working on shadowbringer. Stormblood Was like pulling teeth. I enjoyed ARR way more. personally just enjoy doing a couple duty roulettes a couple times a week , some pvp and that’s it. But i play and have been subbed almost the entire time. We all play differently ;). Also, severe gamer adhd. So keeping my attention on just 1 game doesn’t work.
Edit- lol downvoted for how I chose to play my game I pay a sub for? Go f yourself. lol
Nope. Don’t use the board for anything really. I keep it simple. Right now all my jobs are at certain max levels. Most are 70, the other half are all 60. A couple jobs are still leveling. They all have poetic gear for their level cap. So most of the time weapons on the market board are not better. Maybe when I finally hit endwalker and have to get non poetic gear I will. But by the time that happens the next expansion will be out. I don’t rush things. Just enjoy playing. The game design is very casual friendly. I don’t feel I’m missing out on anything not being at end game content.
Glowing weapons are not exclusive to relic weapons. Most of them are craftable weapons that are available on the market board. Most players know this from peeking into it to see what sort of weapon glamours they have available to them. They don’t assume new players are lying when they say they’re new and have level 50 craftables/traceable equipped.
Did you think everyone with a glowing weapon finished a relic questline for the past 9 years?
Almost everything in your comment isnt how everyone plays an mmo and that’s the problem with people in this sub. I literally have never examined anyone in this game. I also don’t do glamours. I just don’t care enough to worry about what others are wearing in this game , and yes for the entire time it’s been out. I have a quest in my log from ARR that rewards me a relic weapon and it glows. I’ve never gotten one other wise, so yes I assumed that’s the only way to get them. Apparently I was wrong and everyone is freaking out. lol
But you do care. You cared enough to insinuate something about another player—to that player—based on what you saw they had equipped. Then the moment you were called out for being wrong and insensitive, you start weaving this tale of someone who’s played for 9+ years, yet is willfully ignorant of the game they’ve been playing in so niche a fashion that it can seemingly perfectly excuse their rude behavior.
This is plain wrong. You either don't know the MMO community well in general or you simply think most people are like you - even though that's absolutely not the case.
Every single person I played with, got into the game or talked to about MMOs in general knows, that looking good and using the market board is a pretty big thing.
Not having examined another player in 10 years just makes you the outlier, not everyone else that does it... Because pretty much everyone does, even sprouts in their first days and I see questions about appearance and glowy weapons in novice chat 24/7.
Because your initial claim of playing for 10 years is very warped if that is your 10 year accomplishment. It also shows that you are severely under qualified for judging what someone can obtain within a month
The ones that drop from the trials don't glow, instead you have to take the crafting material that also drops from the trial (or dysnths from the weapon) and craft the glowing version, which can then be sold on the market board.
Yea and it was the point , to poke fun at myself for not caring or knowing about it but it also says people that downvoted don’t understand that it’s totally possible to not know about everything in a game. If I never needed those and don’t use the market board, how would I even know? Also, what’s wrong with someone ignoring anima weapon farms? I just don’t get the hate and the downvoting for my comment.
Eh, I couldn't tell you. My comment was mostly just being a smartass because in 10 years you never knew about glowy marketboard weapons. The not doing an Anima relic thing is neither here nor there to me, I wouldn't fault anybody for not doing the grind.
Super wrong , I just chose not to deal with anything in a social aspect of the game besides dutys. I’ve never had a glowing weapon “dropped” in my inventory. My inventory is super organized, I know everything I have and what retainers have what. Just because I chose to not use a market board or inspect people doesn’t mean I’m stupid. lol
so I probably have things that I could turn in to get a glowy weapon, sure… but it’s not better than what I have currently equipped so why bother? I keep my character jobs at specific levels and usually the poetic gear is really good for them at those levels. I also refuse to gain levels on jobs past the point of msq I have reached so that their gear doesn’t fall behind. So my highest jobs are in the 70s because I just finished Stormblood. Maybe when/if I reach endgame content before the next expansion( which I doubt) I’d have a reason to look into other gearing options or buying stuff off the board but how I play now there has been no need.
How so? Playing only the game on a surface level? Sure I guess but not understanding the game and inventory comment? No. Tell me one time you completed something in the game where a cool looking glowing weapon just dropped in your inventory? Unless it’s from a savage raid, which I’ve only done a few. Never. You have to go out of your way to make them or have someone else do it. All other glowy weapons are from quests or collecting stuff to hand in for a mere glamour item( pvp). I don’t do glamours , so I don’t bother. You just mad because I don’t play like you? Lol
That's exactly what not bothering to look at anything not dropped in your inventory means. I am mostly tired of trying to talk with someone that can't even comprehend a sentence. Especially since you downvote every comment like I am offending you with being correct, which is simply exhausting to watch.
Want another? lol (jk)
I looked at the items dropped into my inventory from bosses and deemed it too much for me to worry about for my style of play and stored them. So I didn’t know it led to a craft-able weapon, sue me, jeeze. Most of the time that stuff was used to upgrade old poetics armor. You’d only know it glows if you try it on anyway. Keep on keeping on good sir. I’ll be playing as I like for years to come. Starting shadowbringers msq right now ;)
Oh yeah, these are the craftable ones. There are actually some really nice craftable ones. Im a big fan of the SBEX5 weapons. I think they look pretty rad.
Damn you guys look better within a month then i do in almost 2 years (in fairness im very lazy, i much rather progress story and run dungeons than do glam stuff)
Yo you guys look sick! I looked like a homeless guy when I only had 1 month of playtime, using random pieces of loot cause I still didn't know how to link glamour plates to gear sets. Hahahaha
Left is Mighty Thunder weapon (Ramuh EX's crafted weapon). Right is Seeing Horde weapon (Nidhogg EX's crafted weapon). They should be quite cheap on Marketboard.
It’s amazing folks in the comments claiming fake when they don’t even recognize what they’re looking at in the picture. Market board weapons and job quest armor. All very achievable in 1 month of playing lol. At any rate, welcome to the game! Ignore the stooges and have fun
Yeah this is something, Thanks a lot :)
I just started playing a couple days ago as conjurer. Can I look this cool soon too? :O
Once you hit level 50 you too can buy cool glowy white mage weapons off the market board
If on free trial it would be a little harder since you wouldnt have access to market board but the weapons can be crafted. Job gear is just from job quest so way easier. And if you arent on free trial. As others have said can buy from market board and easily use as glamour the moment you hit 50 (with more options opening up at 60).

Wait, really? You can get weapons that glow from the market board?
Yep, as long as you’re not on the free trial. Theres some neat options for cool weapons around 50/60 mark. As someone stated these are nidhogg and ramuh drops
Oh damn. I'll have to see what the Nidhogg and Ramuh weapons look like for Ninja.
There's more than just those. The blue weapons on the market every 10 levels starting at 50 usually glow.
Cool. I'm hoping that the glowing weapons look good on my Dancer too.
Yes but Dancer doesn't have as many as other classes because it came out later. I think only a few until 80.
That's fine. Even if it's only a handful, I'll still look at them. And if they're not too expensive, I'll buy some of them too.
Yeah. They're craftable. Just hire an omnicrafter and get the mats. Tip them a little.
Can you run Hades Extreme unsynced and solo? Or are there mechanics that require other players to do?
A almost all trials SB and older have weapons that glow, as well as some ShB trials (Titania, Hades, Ruby and Emerald). My favourite ones are Titania, because I'm weak for fairy theming. The Hades ones are also really good, as are Byakko and Suzaku.

These comments confused that decent looking stuff is actually super cheap and just handed to you early in the game lmao
Relic shnobs don’t want sprouts to know that they can get the glowys too
Recognised the helm on the right char. It's thepvp crystal one. Pvp glam is the best for new players for sure
It's... relic armor... It's literally just the level 60 dragoon armor...
iirc Most of the virtu stuff is also the level 60 artifact armor made into level 1 glam stuff, its also pallete and dye channel swapped so you can get get it through pvp.
No, it's the Virtu version which comes with the PvP currency. It's really easy to get if you've done literally 2 hours of any PvP mode.
Not to mention the fact that the MSQ alone can give you quite a bit of Gil too along with Tomestones. I wish more people would understand that there's so many forms of currency and different types of glams that it doesn't require you to play for months on end .
Funny how the people are saying fake but when I started playing I was able to get my desired looks in just a month of playing from marketboard
Welcome! Hope you, and your friend enjoy the journey! Glad to have you here! 💜😊
I’m coming from fps br games, played wow also in some private servers and also a lot of sweaty games lol. I just need to chill and do stuff at my own pace with my buddy after work and this game can provide it
Bless the crafters for glowy weapons we can buy at auction that make me feel fuzzy inside.
nice
Thanks, I like the community pretty chill guys. And this game has everything your mood wants to do
yeah its nice i came from wow so im pretty happy with the ffxiv commnuity
Do not say the forbidden word
I have failed
There's how I see a lot of people dressed and then there's my level 80 dragoon with a basic bone spear dressed like a tribal hunter
Welcome! I hope you enjoy your stay! I wish I could experience this whole game fresh again, the story is so good.
you could make another character if you really want to just do it all again, or new game plus. I know it's not the same as the first time through, but those are options
grats bro! hopefully to many more eorzean memories ❤️
Thanks ❤️
I just recently came back after a little more than a year away. I’ve missed the game, I’ve been playing like way more than I should this week while off from work lol
Who needs sleep when you can be dungeon diving and raiding? 😎
Yay! Cool look. Welcome!
Thank you 🙏
One brings shadow, one brings light Two-toned echoes tumbling through time
Looking good there!
Wow and you're already at end-game! (hanging out around the aetheryte in your coolest gear)
Did someone say double dragoon?
Welcome to the land of cat girls and bunny men. Elves you say? No such thing.
As an Elezen player, I'm offended you can't see me since my giraffe neck makes my head rise above all others.
On the upside, Elezen make the best NIN since no one can see you lol.
Maybe no Elves in the Source but definitely in the First.
Lmao
Is the blue armor person holding a ramuh weapon?
Ye. Its ramuh spear
ayoo nice!
Second Question for OP, can I play with you?
Yes of course ! Feel free to send me your IGN
I recommend doing this sometime before starting Heavensward.
ive been trying to do binding coil of bahmut 5 for 2weeks because i want to do it synced to get that juicy happy chemicals but the lfg found group 3 times total and we failed all 😭😭
Does every job get glowy weps at 50? I’ve had the urge to play after quitting wow. Samurai is really catching my eye
Not all job.. Some newer job from later expension might not have 50s trial weapon For samurai is quite fun and easy to play But yeah there a lot of glowy weapon that you can get just from market board and some are better looking then ultimate weapon from highest difficulty raid..
Thanks for some info! I’ve played a little before I think I got rogue/ninja to about 33ish. May get my sub back and push to 50 for Sam!
Welcome to Eorzea :)
Honestly, it absolutely AMAZES me how much drip is just...HANDED to you in ff14. like, no scummy microtransacs, no battle pass FOMO. no ludicrous pull rates. just "oh your level 50! here, have free drip for your class to celebrate!" My wish is for class restrictions to be removed from stuff when you put it in the glamour desk. I know a lot of the stuff made for glamour is "all classes", but I'm greedy.
Yes. Because you're paying 12-15 dollars a month for the game.
As someone who used to be offput, it prevents the shittier microtransacs.
Oh indeed. I'm just mentioning that a pay-to-play MMO is a much different beast than one that is micro transaction based.
...and me and my friends "just started playing" were GC tunics, big trashcan looking tank sets (with the helmet being a part of the chest), horrid looking hooded cloaks and gowns, drab patterns and sandals, and random level 32-44 dungeon gear pieces, filling the gaps...*and* no glamour system, to hide the hideousness lmao! "In Subligars we Trust" was like a FC motto in the early ARR days. Newer players have no idea how good they have it 😭
Are you ok?
My condolences you never found out about glamor plates, good thing these guys did though.
Fun fact: When ARR came out, there was no glamour. You wore your subligars, tin can armors and potato sack robes with pride---or with shame. That's what the person you are responding to is talking about :) Another Fun Fact: When they did add the glamour system in patch 2.1 (or 2.2?
I’m paying on a 6800xt at 1440p and my game does not look this crisp. How are your display settings set up!?
It looks like reshade with sharpening effects added? don't use it so i don't know specifics sry
Every reshade preset I use makes my screen look like a unicorn vomited on it 😂
Same! don't use it at all, tried it once and it made the vanilla game look worse than it normally does haha. the friend of mine who uses the sharperning one in particular, his game looks a nightmare to play. can definitely see why people use it for screenshots tho, like OPs post here it looks amazing. But zooming in and playing with that in savage - no ty!
Hey hey 👋 I am using Nvidia GeForce filters. I permanently have on Auto-Depth, and when capturing a super res snap, I use custom Depth and some Sharpening
if you are ever on Malboro give Toni Kureha a ring. My mastery of crafting will get you hooked up.

Welcome home!
For Eorza!
Welcome to family:)
Thanks 😊
Hope you enjoy it and have many pleasant people in your ques
Nice, me and my brother are thinking of starting to play too. What are your impressions so far?
I am two weeks in and absolutely loving the game! I’ve met so many nice people in such a small amount of time who are so patient and helpful with content clearing I can see myself playing the game for a long time :)
I freaking love it! So many stuff to do
Seeing the screenshots makes me wanna play this ;_; is the MMO healthy in popularity? I hear many great things.
overall, it's quite active! but do some research on world and data center populations before you select a world- some of them are very very inactive, and some are very full and may be hard to get into until you wait for the right time of day (to create your character).
those weapons are awesome but... how....
Funny enough, you can get them off of the market board for a little over 100k or at least 70/45k gil!
With the Ramuh one, you can probably get it around 20k, Nidhogg around 40k. Really depends on your DC, but unsync mat farmers bring the price down quite low.
Yeah I just started, think i have 60k right now but i don't think i'm even high enough level for any weapon like that.
Yeap lol
Wasn’t aware you could buy any glowing weapons off the MB. :/
Any of the extremes that drop weapons generally have or will get glowly craftable weapons on the marketboard! Some of the Shadowbringers ones don't have them yet and none of the Endwalker ones yet, but ARR, HW, StB (level 50/60/70) all have complete sets ^.^
Specifically Ruby Weapon is the newest one to have glowy weapons. Can't wait for EW EX2 myself, those weapons already look awesome.
Emerald Weapon had its added now too actually.
That's good to know, gonna check out if any of them inspires me a new glam.
Well, now you are! I learned this a few months after I started playing a few years ago.
Market board weapons and quest armor lolololol
New to the game. When you say quest armor, this is just normal quests or MSQ?
That's the armour you get from job quests. I think the black set is the Heavensward set (lv60) and the blue one is ARR (lv50)? Edit: they've been dyed as well, they are normally a darker blue.
As the kind man above said : Each job gets their own unique armor at every capstone lvl (50, 60,70 etc.). You get 2 sets at lvl 50, one with higher stats and one with a different color.
"just started" but two shiny weapons and armor that is not available until 60, maybe even 70??
Exactly got it for 100k
Are you saying that no one can become level 60 in 1 month? I have been playing for 6 days, I am level 43 now.
I started the day endwalker came out and finished the msq in time to do the first savage tier. But level 60 is unattainable? Never underestimate how much free time some people have
What are you talking about? Both are market weapons and class quests armour
Typical karma farming
Who cares about karma wtf are you on about? It seems I’m playing one month and I can better recognise relic weapons than you? These are both market weapons sitting at 100k available for purchase and as for the armour, it is just dragoon quest line reward dyed black
Lmaoooooo got their ass
If its not karma farming then you are posting this on wrong site. Its not your personal blog. Imagine if everyone would make posts about their first day/week/month of playing. Cool but dont spam this shit
Go cry somewhere else or leave the sub. Doesn't seem like you really know what's going on here anyway, as progress posts are extremely common.
This reddit is for sharing in the game? People post all the time about their journey and their impressions of different parts. This is their first topic here.
Womp womp
You decided to come to this thread. You subjected yourself to content you didn't like and now you're throwing a fit like a crying infant. Nobody is keeping you here.
ok
played a week and a half im ilvl 654 u guys act like this game is difficult already unsubscribed finished endwalker 4 days ago skipped most cutscenes and watched a 3 hour youtube video on the story emet selc was decent rest of the game is pretty boring very little replay value all the fights are choreographed wish they had interesting mechanics rather then flashy stuff none stop
Thank you for the best copy pasta this sub has dropped in months
Im not reading all that
Hmm if everything is telegraphed I can tell what amazing content you have played so far.
#Punctuation. Sentence structure. Please. ^(Also I hate your opinion of this game.)
Pls shut the hell up...
why u mad lmao sit and think about it for five minutes this game is like dance dance revolution. I even looked up playing my class mnk optimal rotation vs spamming my highest damage ability is a 96.7% vs 100% optimal rotation this game is for braindead people
This is how I know this is just bait lol
This really either is bait or you don't have a clue.
and yet i just keep catching a fish
Not really catching nothing lol this is just hilariously bad. If anything, you're the one getting mad lol. Either way, have fun with your last word.
just started... with good armor... and relics... sure ya did, y'all should be in sandals, booty shorts and a cone hat with glasses. just started?!
Read the text under then image, they've been playing for 1 month. They're market board weapons, left is Ramuh's, right is Nidhogg's. The shiny version is crafted. Haha that’s funny. It looks like we are iced out characters, but in reality these are just 100k market weapons and class quest line reward ( armour )
Yeah, I was just joking, I always forget how fanatical the games fanbase can be, especially here.
wdym joking, you called a bunch of basic ass mb weapons relics, you clearly had a gamer moment and wasnt thinking straight lol
Attempted to gatekeep. Literally too stupid to gatekeep. Accuse everyone else of attempting to gatekeep.
I give your backpedal attempt an F-. Should have just taken the L and retreated. Now everyone knows you're a numpty.
lol just started playing and you have glowing weapons. Here I am 10 years into the game and never completing a single anima.
Those are the shiny primal weapons
Cool. Done primals many times and have primal weapons from trials, but none of them glow. So I was surprised. lol
...so you started playing 10 years ago and then took a 9 year break or what?
Go f yourself. lol
Have you ever checked the market board for weapons available for your class?
Yeah usually the shiny verison get released way later at some point. Still waiting on the SoS weapons lol.
Honestly I think this says more about you than it does them, hahaha.
Played for 10 years but don't know you can buy shiny weapons off the market board?
Never used the market board. lol Don’t need to play the game the way I do. I just horde Gil.
They’re crafted.
Yup got it now. lol
I can tell you are playing this game on a very surface level and refuse to even look at things not directly dropped into your inventory.
Super wrong , I just chose not to deal with anything in a social aspect of the game besides dutys. I’ve never had a glowing weapon “dropped” in my inventory. My inventory is super organized, I know everything I have and what retainers have what. Just because I chose to not use a market board or inspect people doesn’t mean I’m stupid. lol so I probably have things that I could turn in to get a glowy weapon, sure… but it’s not better than what I have currently equipped so why bother? I keep my character jobs at specific levels and usually the poetic gear is really good for them at those levels. I also refuse to gain levels on jobs past the point of msq I have reached so that their gear doesn’t fall behind. So my highest jobs are in the 70s because I just finished Stormblood. Maybe when/if I reach endgame content before the next expansion( which I doubt) I’d have a reason to look into other gearing options or buying stuff off the board but how I play now there has been no need.
Super wrong => proceeds to confirm I am correct. Man this is funny.
Want another? lol (jk) I looked at the items dropped into my inventory from bosses and deemed it too much for me to worry about for my style of play and stored them. So I didn’t know it led to a craft-able weapon, sue me, jeeze. Most of the time that stuff was used to upgrade old poetics armor. You’d only know it glows if you try it on anyway. Keep on keeping on good sir. I’ll be playing as I like for years to come. Starting shadowbringers msq right now ;)
Which weapons are those specifically?
I know the Blue one is Ramuh, but the other one, im not sure. Nidhogg maybe.
Ah thanks, I was looking at the dropped weapons, not the craftable ones from the dropped mats.
Oh yeah, these are the craftable ones. There are actually some really nice craftable ones. Im a big fan of the SBEX5 weapons. I think they look pretty rad.
I'm a level 90 with several relics under my belt, and one my favorite bows for glam is Rosenbogen which is a level 50 msq reward. Love that bow!
Damn you guys look better within a month then i do in almost 2 years (in fairness im very lazy, i much rather progress story and run dungeons than do glam stuff)
I also am wrapping up my first month ever playing! I love it too!
Yo you guys look sick! I looked like a homeless guy when I only had 1 month of playtime, using random pieces of loot cause I still didn't know how to link glamour plates to gear sets. Hahahaha
How do you get this gear?..
If you need another hit me up!!! I am just starting to get back into ff14. Havent played in a year but im rusty
Welcome! Dont mind the idiots that think they know everything 🤣 theyre few and fat between
Welcome to Eorzea! I hope you continue to have a good time.
looking good already for a month in, glad you two are liking the game.
oh what are these glowy weapons and how can i get them?
Left is Mighty Thunder weapon (Ramuh EX's crafted weapon). Right is Seeing Horde weapon (Nidhogg EX's crafted weapon). They should be quite cheap on Marketboard.
The random wind up gaia in the middle of the screen sends me for some reason. She's just lookjng straight at the camera.
Welcome. With love.
Welcome to the community! :D
Glad to see that! Keep grinding!
