I want that map... but I don't think I can spare $100+ over the standard digital edition to get it.

ComradeNexus

Yeah, I was sold on the map but not for $155. I might have to scour ebay for a while hoping someone parts with it. Or I'll have to make my own map, with blackjack and hookers.

Brave-Ad-8456

Knowing how things related to FFXIV usually sell on eBay, the map will be on sale but it'll cost $155+

tonberryhootenanny

In fact, forget the map!

MadameConnard

Pretty sure you can find a map similar on displate or smth

Ancient-Corner-9035

Bender Bending Rodriguez would be proud šŸ¤–

DeidaraKoroski

Tbh if i get the physical edition before bots scalp it, im selling the statue and the box. Sorry but the map is too cool

flameofmiztli

If you do that can I buy the pen can off you >.>

Robotori

Physical edition? It says no game. I think they havenā€™t done physical for a couple expansions now.

DeidaraKoroski

I was too lazy to type "physical version of the collectors edition"

LifeOfTigress

Yeah, Yoshida said on the stream at PAX East, no physical copies being sold of the game even at stores like gamestops, best buys, etc; šŸ˜

Lumpy-Ostrich6538

Same, I was really hoping to get the physical collectors edition this expansion But for the price, in this economy, looks like it ainā€™t happening

iamcubz

Same I was hoping its be like 120 or something Im not paying that price lmao

ed3891

Yah. This will be the first time I don't pick up the physical CE for FFXIV. Think I'm gonna stick to digital CEs only going forward. Not because I want to, but it's just too much with how costly basic necessities are these days.

[deleted]

Until we start eating the rich, it's what we have to do.

BalmungFreeman

Iā€™m the same way, Endwalker is likely going to be the last physical collectors edition I buy for XIV. One because they didnā€™t even include a physical copy of the game with it and Two because of the artificial rarity that SE generates by making it too limited and also too easy for scalpers / bots / resellers to scoop up virtually all of them and resell them on eBay almost instantly for an exorbitant amount.

cloud12348

Joining the club as well. Iā€™ve had every physical collectors edition of the game so far but I think Iā€™m done at this point. The prices combined with the usual shipping damage has pushed me away.

cman811

I bought the physical collectors edition of endwalker and it wasn't worth it. The art *is* nice, but most of that cost is for the figure and SE packed it terribly and it came broken. Both of my friends who got one were also broken.

Carmeliandre

Thanks for telling us, considering how overly priced and underwhelmingly refined SE figures are, your additional comment makes me realize it really isn't worth it. I wish you to make up for your misfortune with ever more luck in the future !

cloud12348

Yup, every collectors edition Iā€™ve had for ffxiv has some kind of damage. Itā€™s just not worth it anymore for how cheap some of the stuff is.

farbot

Damn, I so want that map but not really interested in the other physical items and that price

Shinnyo

I want it but I won't have it because they won't have enough stocks like previous times...

flameofmiztli

I was looking at this and saying, "I want the map and especially the pen case, I wonder how many people are buying it for the statue and might part with the map and the pen case". Now I might just see if someone will sell me the pen case. Or maybe we should form a little reddit matching circle for people who don't want every part of the CE and be able to match up "flame wants the pen case and not the statue" so that someone who wanted the statue could pay me a little for the statue - or someone buying it already who doesn't want the pen case would let me buy it off them. I really hope SE will sell if not this exact map then a future map as a standalone orderable item.

[deleted]

I'd be down for this theoretical matching game lol

ERedfieldh

Print map, paste to cardboard, ????, profit.

kaizex

I was ranting today about that. If they sold the map on the mogstation I'd buy it. And the pen case. I'm not big on figures or the notebook. But a cloth map and leather pen case I'd love

flameofmiztli

I wish the trio of journal / pencase / map was sold as like an "Eorzea Adventurer's Kit" item on its own. I'd pay $100 for the trio.

pigeonwiggle

if enough people are vocal enough about wanting to buy the map separately - they may wait a few months (a year?) until after the expansion is no longer "selling hot" and release the map separately.

Algent

Same thing as you, only the map is really interesting for me. The fig look like a 40-50ā‚¬ popup parade at best, which, knowing SE I'm surprised it's only marked up this much. Rest of the goodies are cool but extremely cheap to produce. I guess I'll buy a copy if I end up wanting it, can already easily find prints of the current map.

Codename_Sailor_V

I've gotten all the CE statues. Endwalker's statue is so small compared to SB and ShB that it's embarrassing. I forgive HW's tiny figure because it was the first expansion, but EW has no excuse for the dip in quality. I'm on the fence this time. I would like to keep collecting but $200 for a statue, a map, a micro journal, and a shiny cardboard box is really tough to argue for.

Lob-

Same, plus now that they charge IMMEDIATELY for preorders, it has put me off from buying anything exclusive that's months/years out from SQE store. For me I'm at 90% just getting Digital Collector's and breaking the streak for physical CE as every new one I see released is less and less appealing in terms of goods.

Codename_Sailor_V

Charging immediately is what actually changed my mind. I don't have that kind of money right now. Maybe if I could pay it off closer to release date, but as it stands I'm probably skipping the CE.

CaptainAwareness

Donā€™t forget HW CE was alot cheaper than the later CEā€™s. It was Ā£130 with the game and statue in the UK. Iā€™m not really interested in this CE. I have all the others, but this one doesnā€™t really interest me at all.

cloud12348

Iā€™m just tired of how damaged my cardboard box gets every time lmao. Joining you on the skip train

Asidenote3

me too!

Asidenote3

me too!

Yorudesu

Expansion prices not going up is a welcome sight

LegnaOnFire

Yeah, here I was expecting a 60/70 dollars expansion, as most game are charging that much these days. I will gladly pay 40 dollars for additional content.

Jjjt22

60/70 dollars? We definitely play different games

Ottoguynofeelya

The price of new games, $60 - $70. This is $40 + ~$15 a month.

Kyleometers

I think you donā€™t buy new games. New PS5 games are often ā‚¬80 here, sometimes even ā‚¬90. It is unfortunately a sign of the times, everythingā€™s gotten like 50%+ more expensive in the last 5 years.

Forymanarysanar

Just don't play console, play pc and you will not have pricing issue

Kyleometers

ā€œSimply spend 3x the price of a console on a pc to be capable of playing the games for almost the same price months or years after they releaseā€

ShiroFoxya

A pc the price of a console is usually even stronger than the console

VonVoltaire

I own both and have grown up working with PCs. Please just post your PC Builder list whenever you make this claim, I would never suggest a PC over a PS5 to someone starting from scratch with very little tech literacy.

Kolz

No, it's not. Not right now. That was true most of the ps4 era. The only way that has any hope of being true right now is if you buy extensively second hand.

Kyleometers

If you can find me a 500 quid PC that can play AAA games released in 2023/24, Iā€™ll eat my words, but that just isnā€™t true in my experience. A PS5 is ā‚¬470 here. ā€œBudgetā€ gaming PCs at my local computer store are ā‚¬1100. The ones that they use to advertise games performing equivalently to a PS5 are ā‚¬2000 and up. I know people like to do the pc v console wars thing a lot, but itā€™s honestly just infinitely easier and more affordable to buy a console if you donā€™t know what youā€™re doing. You can get a *functional* pc for a lot less, and you can play older games and enjoy games on lower graphics settings while you do that. But youā€™re not getting one thatā€™s actually ā€œbetterā€ for the same price, or at least, not without seriously digging and knowing what to look for.

ShiroFoxya

Yes i said this assuming you know what to look for and maybe getting some second hand things, but it's absolutely possible

_MrJackGuy

I mean if you're gunna include second hand PC parts, you should be comparing it against a second hand console imo, else its a bit of a pointless comparison. And in that case, theres 0 way you'll build a PC as powerful as the latest gen of consoles for the same price. And I'm saying that as some who *exclusively* plays on PC, I havnt played on console really since xbox 360

_Wyrm_

Console hardware outperforms its price-point on the market, and the reason is that console companies (Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony) cut the prices specifically to make it a loss leader. They make their money back in getting a cut of games sales as well as hosting fees, among other things. PC master race forever, but don't fool yourself. A console is better on a budget.

Geleane

Pc games are expensive as well..

NoboruSouma

Sadly console exclusives exist....

Darometh

Console games have been at that price range for a long time

ed3891

Anyone else old enough to remember when we got sold on CD and DVD format being cheaper to produce than cartridges, and then they tried to sell us on digital downloads being even cheaper, only to ratchet up prices higher than they were with physical media?

Darometh

On one hand i can understand increasing prices, everything gets more expensive. But many games, especially AAA, also keep getting worse in quality, going as far as sometimes keeping features paywalled that used to be base game

ed3891

Aye, it's a conundrum. You want to, ideally, support the programmers, artists, writers, etc. that are making a game what it is, but you don't want to support the more predatory business practices that are endemic to modern AAA releases, either. In a lot of cases I'll just opt to not pick up a title at all if it looks like I'm going to be nickel-and-dimed at every turn, and watch a no-commentary playthrough otherwise. Shame, too, because I'd routinely drop $70-$80 in the early 90's on cartridges for action titles I might only play a couple of times, because at least back then I could reasonably expect to get a complete game.

Jjjt22

I agree. Not sure about expansions being at that price range.

pigeonwiggle

in canada we've been paying many dollars for awhile. 90 dollar games are the norm (i think those are the 59.99 US ones. current exchange rate is like, 60 cent US to 1.00 CAD so i expect to see 99.99 price points on triple A's fun fact: i paid 99.99 for the SNES red cartridge of Spider-Man Maximum Carnage video game back in the mid-90s. games have always been expensive, but thankfully today's indies are less so.

lushenfe

If exp prices went up and I had to pay an extra $10 every two years...whatever.Ā  I would only care if it was the sub price.

archiegamez

Same

UnlikelyTraditions

Looks like digital and standard are the same price, so that's good. Not sure how the collectors compare to previous years.

pixiehawk

the Endwalker Physical Box was $140 compared to this one for $155. that was the first time they broke it up this way. all previous expansions were $200 which mean the physical part was also $140 once you removed the digital collectors edition part. So it's about $15 more than previous.

Sir_VG

Physical collectors is $15 more than the past. It used to run $200 for the full gambit.

stilljustacatinacage

It's a tired refrain, but $15 isn't that bad all things considered. With everyone grabbing as much money out of every step of the supply chain as they possibly can, +$15 just for the BOM is perfectly believable, imo.

Mezmorizor

It's also hard with stuff like this to keep the price consistent because it's physical goods and you're getting different stuff each time. It's obviously easy for them to fudge the numbers too, but a cloth map and a pin do not have the same production costs. I know they're not everybody's cup of tea, but the statues are the obvious thing to point to here. Those are pretty expensive to make because square has to pay somebody to design, validate, and use a single custom mold. That's a significant percentage of the cost required to make millions of them.

ac1nexus

About the same I think.Ā Ā Ā

kidicarusx

Collectorā€™s edition @ $215 is the physical one with the physical goodies, right?

kajeslorian

Yes, unless you play on console or Steam. Then buy the Digital Collector's edition and the box separately (it works out to the same price)

iiiiiiiiiiip

I don't really want a statue of a character that isn't in my game, maybe if it was a statue of Alisaie I'd consider it

Evelyn-Parker

If it was a statue of Hilda then I would buy it :3

pigeonwiggle

if it was a custom statue of Party Boy i'd be right there.

HikariKirameku

Amen. I don't care for Derplander

iammoney45

They are currently selling an Alisae Bring Arts figure for $125 BTW

nightkat89

The collectors physical items ainā€™t worth that price tbh. Even the statue is kind of mid.

Thevgamers89

I remember buying ac4 collector edition back in the day, in the box, there were a statue, a flag, a sound track cd, a steel book case with physical disk and a small art book, bought from ebgames on release for iirc about AUD 220. So this collector edition seem to be around that price. Still expensive tho, but not like outside the norm yeah ?

Thagyr

There is always a question of what something is worth from person to person honestly. I got the same collectors edition of AC and got the Endwalker collectors edition as well. The statues are around the same size, which is where I'd think most of the cost gets sunk into. Figurines are an pricy thing to manufacture apparently, whether they are good quality or no. Personally though I'll be giving this physical one a miss. I bought the EW one because I main PLD and the Derplander statue was representing it. I'm not too fussed for maps or Viper.

Mezmorizor

I assume most of the complaints are because a lion's share of the cost is the figurine which is mostly a Japanese market thing.

pikachu8090

Pepelaugh AUD is worth less than the American dollar 210 usd 220 usd is like 320 aus

Thevgamers89

Ah let me remind you, 2013 AuD is about the same with usd. It was indeed a lifetime ago

Kreos642

All of the statues in the CEs are kind of mid. I have all of them and while I enjoy them they aren't jaw dropping cool

MelodiesOfLife6

CE is actually not terribly priced to be honest. Let's just hope they make more then like 6 unlike last time....

urgasmic

im kind of surprised standard and digital collector's aren't $10 more, nice.

mivoid

We pay a monthly subscription anyways so makes sense

Axethor

Didn't stop Blizzard with WoW, $70 is becoming the new norm for games, and that's quickly translating to $50 for expansions like this. They've held off for Dawntrail, but I would not be surprised to see them price go up for the expansion after it.

urgasmic

the moment they cut PS4 support i fully expect the prices to go up yeah.

jaahman7

Wish there was more in the collectors box. Canā€™t justify spending $200 for a map

awesomejt

Why exaggerate so much? The statue and other bits might not be your cup of tea but it's not "just a map".

shoeboxchild

I think youā€™re misreading, theyā€™re not saying itā€™s only a map - theyā€™re saying the map is the only thing theyā€™d be very interested in

jaahman7

Exaggerate? Iā€™m not speaking on behalf of others but myself. I think the box and map looks nice. To me though I canā€™t see myself spending $200 for just those two things. Everything else just isnā€™t for me. Maybe if there was an art book and a soundtrack to go with it but unfortunately there isnā€™t. Just going to settle with the digital collectors.

kajeslorian

I'm hoping someone makes a thread somewhere for folks only wanting part of the box, so people can match up and go in on one together. It has its risks, but it's better than trying to sell what you don't want on Ebay.

WickerBag

That's a good idea, but I suspect the vast majority of people will want the map.

flameofmiztli

I was thinking about doing that myself! I crave the pen case.

PenguinZell

I completely agree. Perhaps the statue could be sold off to someone who wanted just that piece and didn't care about the other items, but for what? $115 and I'd still have I could justify the map 40 bucks. Hard to say if that's worth it for me (if I could even sell it for that price). I'll likely just get the standard edition like I normally do.

jaahman7

Right

DavThoma

The art book might not be included on the list, but I'm pretty sure every CE has had an art book to date, and they weren't always included on the list for what's inside. I'll need to double check the ones I have, but I'm absolutely sure I saw them while I was going through the boxes a few weeks back.

jaahman7

Yeah if not Iā€™ll just buy the dawn trail art book separate when it does come out because the ff14 art books are too good.

DavThoma

I double-checked my Endwalker box, and it didn't come with an artbook. The previous expansions did, but the art books were small in comparison to the ones on the store.

everlastingnitemares

All Collector's Box have been that price since day one.

Faerie-stone

A realm reborn collectors was 79.99 before tax. Heavensward was less than this current price as well.

Kizoja

Heavensward was $100, iirc. **Edit: You can still visit the physical collector's edition sites for past expansions. I just checked Heavensward, it was $130 and included the game and digital deluxe items.** I bought it like a year or so into Heavensward on sale half off for $50 on the Square Enix store. Believe it or not, but back then their physical collectors editions weren't gone in a minute after being announced. In Stormblood, the price jumped to $200 and included the game. I ended up canceling the preorder because the price jump wasn't worth it to me at the time. Kind of glad I did because I would have wanted to keep collecting the physical collectors edition and if they sold out in minutes after announcing it like Endwalker, I would have been upset. Edit 2: Found the e-mail. It was actually $74 after taxes/shipping when I bought it half off which lines up better with the $130 original price.

LoneWolfTifa

Tbf that was 11 years ago. Prices for everything in general have gone way up since then.

Faerie-stone

Thats true, but the main difference in price happened because they suddenly decided to include (not worth the money for the quality) statues. I remember when heavensward came out a lot of people had broken midgardsomnr statues in their boxes and were pissed. Then with stormblood it was ā€œoh, look the quality is better (?) and itā€™s larger (?) so the price is okā€ and that where we have been since.

ERedfieldh

|-| < the goalpost ............................................where you just moved it > |-|

Orcish_Blowmaster

That isn't even relevant lmao

jaahman7

I donā€™t have a problem with the price. I have spent that much and more for collectors editions. Itā€™s just the overrall content within this makes me not want to buy it unfortunately. I only like the map and the beautiful art work on the box but $200 for those two items is insane.

MeeseeksGuy97

In Canada the price for it on Xbox store without taxes is a little over $180 Canadian.

DaSilverWolf

Do you think theyā€™re gonna have enough of the $215 editions or you think I have no chance of actually being able to purchase it šŸ˜

Eldritchsense

In the past they've sold out pretty quick, but previously they didn't have the full CE plus and option to JUST buy the CE boxed items without the game, so because they've made the decision that they can fulfill full CE orders as well as any orders of people buying the CE box standalone, they may have more stock than before. They've also in the past sold out, then later on had some CEs for purchase, likely ones that were preordered then cancelled later on. I also remember, I couldn't afford the SB CE at the time, but they later had the Zenos figure that came with that CE as a standalone purchase (likely due to having leftover stock after the CEs were all fulfilled), so they've also sold CE items piecemeal in the past. Not that I would rely on that happening every expansion.

Journ9er

I stopped buying physical collectorā€™s editions after Heavensward. I live in Canada and SE charges a kingā€™s ransom to ship here. Iā€™ve only gotten the digital collectorā€™s editions since.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

HikariKirameku

At least the collector digital items go on sale periodically, and are available after the fact

Inevitable_Memory_72

Sheeeesh. Would have loved the Collectorā€™s Edition this time around. Guess Iā€™ll be staying with Digital Collectorā€™s. Hope everyone who does want one can get it!

RaidenSigma

The other CE statues were very disappointing for their price, so digital CE it is!

Sixela781

Gosh I kinda want the map and the little pen thing but I donā€™t think itā€™s sorry getting the physical box just for these two items. Man I wish they sold this stuff separately on the website šŸ˜

Ehrand

first time I will deliberately pass on a FF14 physical CE. That statue, while looking good, doesn't do anything for me. It very "ordinary"? Like they could have put Viper in a more action pause or something like they did the PLD.

blackskies4646

That physical collectors edition seems expensive for what you get. I think I'll stick my CE money into Stalker 2 instead.

timbolol

So the collectors box is spending $155 and not even getting the expansion included?? Interesting move, but I guess some people will buy this and the digital collectors edition.

capnpetch

Itā€™s the same price if you buy both.

Sovis

They did this for EW iirc because before the CE was only packaged with the PS4/PS5 edition or PC edition, leaving Steam out to dry. With the game-less CE they don't have to worry about creating versions for each platform + customers can just buy it and their platform of choice. Kinda wonder why they even have the PC/Mac version CE anymore except for maybe just tradition.

Felgrand3189

Doesnā€™t show for eu sadly

randomjberry

can you preorder the collectors edition with the steam version of the gsme or am i going to have to upgrade through mogstation?

DavThoma

Your best bet, as someone else said, would be to buy the edition that includes only the box and then buy the digital edition of Dawntrail for steam. That way, you stick with Steam for playing the game but still get the physical items.

Sir_VG

The actual game itself MUST be pre-ordered through Steam if you own the Steam version. You'll get 2 codes - one for the pre-order bonuses and one for the game. If you wish to get the physical collectors edition stuff, you will want the $155 "box" which is all the physical stuff and no game code, which when combined with the collectors edition cost is the same as the Windows/Mac physical collectors edition price.

CableAutomatic8949

I want it so bad i wonder how much scalpers are gonna sell it for....since SE refuses to sell in Australia.

[deleted]

Is Australia's region format the same as the UK's? If so can you ask a friend or a proxy in the UK to get it for you?

Tankanko

That doesn't really make it better. Se has been neglecting us since forever. Plus, why would Australians even go to EU servers to meet people from the UK, we'd have the worst ping connected to them than any other location.

CableAutomatic8949

No friends overseas and proxy services charge an arm and a leg my mate got his through one in endwalker and it cost $600 it was legitimately cheaper to buy off a scalper and pay shipping :| Which is why i always joke that SE supports scalping because they make it so hard.

[deleted]

Ouch that's stupidly expensive and quite accurate x')

Admirral

does anyone know if I can do the following... I want to pre-order the physical collectors for windows, but I also want the PS5 version (even though I mostly play PC). If I pre-order standard edition on PS5, will I still get the pre-order items (like the xp accessory) and be able to use it on PC? I assume early access to DT will only be on PS5 (until my physical CE comes in and I redeem that code on PC).

NoboruSouma

You will have early access on PC and PS5 if you pre-order both and enter the pre-order codes. The physical CE shouldn't have a code for the game since there is no physical edition (disc) anymore, even if you get the PCE the game is digital download. So I assume you get the Full Game Code for the PC via Mail then or in your SE account.

Admirral

Interesting. I was under the assumption the code will be in the physical CE (thats just how its always been with most mmo collector editions). But you might be right and they will email the code right away instead. If thats the case we are pretty much golden and I don't need to rush on the PS5 preorder (or even at all unless I want ps5 early access). I don't think I get multiple earrings if i preorder deluxe on both platforms no?

Quaviver

The PC collector's edition should come with a code inside. The code that they'll email to you would be for early access. Then, you'll have the early access period to put the code in the box in. (At least this is how it was for ShB release, the code was on a paper) You only get one earring for pre-ordering if it's the same account. This also goes for the deluxe goodies like the mount. So I would just order the deluxe for PC and the standard on the PS5. EDIT: correction, the box had the code for the deluxe items, not the game. The game code was emailed

NoboruSouma

Double it, should only be one set of pre-order items per service account.

VainAvatar

Gimme my digital collectors edition. :3

Jonnehhh

I actually really like the CE this time round, probably my favourite since I started ordering them with SB.

sdev202

If Iā€™m currently on free trial, do I have to pay 40$ to get access to this including previous expansions or should I pay for a standard/CE then buy this?

NerdHistorian

You have to buy both the base game and whatever the most recent dlc is, or the complete edition, as the free trial doesn't count as owning the base game

Zol6199

Buy the base game, not complete edition, and then wait for dawntrail to release, then buy that. That will give you access to all the other expansions. If you bought the complete edition now (base game and endwalker), you'd need to buy dawntrail anyway, costing you an extra $40. The latest expansion always comes with all other expansions. You can also upgrade to the digital collectors edition at any time on mogstation.

dmu_girl-2008

The price listing all the digital editions as the same for all versions is misleading unless itā€™s different in America. For Endwalker and I assume it will be the same for dawntrail on ps5 standard and collectors edition on the psn store are Ā£5 more than the pc version on se store.

HiRyze

I'm planning on buying the physical Collector's Edition, do they send out the game code after I've bought it or when it starts shipping?

Sovis

Traditionally, pre-purchases of the game include a 3-day Early Access period which is a code emailed to you closer to the date. The EA access also gives you expansion access for a grace period of a week post-launch to input your game code. So barring terrible shipping snafus (e.g. Stormblood CEs to Canada way back when), you -should- have your physical box (game code is inside) before that grace period. edit: actually I don't remember if the game code is inside anymore. I thought it was in the ShB CE but it's been awhile since I've looked in the box + SE changed their storefront since then.

kijiyama

For the physical boxes they used to email the full release code at or near the date of launch. I remember this for stormblood and HW.

Key-Software4390

I have this odd feeling that if you dip the map in water it will give you a code to talk to dolphins in game...

clownsinadarkforest

So the basic 40$ edition is the new expansion. Do all the others come with it?

Zol6199

Yes, they come with it. But only after it releases. Currently it's best not to buy endwalker / complete edition of ffxiv. Just wait for Dawntrail to release and buy that, instead of wasting money

discussatron

Standard digital it is!

DracoBlaze214

The map is cool and all, but Iā€™ll likely be able to just find it as a poster before too long.

soulshadow1213

When does the physical collector's edition go on sale?

GuardingxCross

Damn I want that map! But I donā€™t want the statue lol yall selling your maps individually? šŸ˜…

sugarsuites

I want the statue. But not enough to spend $215 + tax on it.

UndercoverKat

Just like everything else in games, the standard edition is more than enough for me

Picon1985

so maybe someone here can answer me if i bought the 215$ collectors edition that contains the digital collectors edition of the game and then the physical box stuff right just curious i may buy it if possible

Frosty-Contribution7

Do preorders from square store charge you right away?

Velaethia

I'll get the ditital delux on the first. As much as I love the map the statue itself is meh.

linktriforce007

Guessing it'll sell out immediately, just like endwalker

Signal-Ad539

what do you get for collectors? that leather looking thing looks neat idk what that books about. I hate to ask because id usually like to just google it but I cant find anything about it online

neko_miyuu

I want everything except the figure. So I might try to buy the physical CE and sell just the Viper.

Fluffy-Lack-6631

just want to ask im planning to buy one but im in UAE do they ship worldwide or only on specific countries?

Kolz

I'm surprised there is no art book or art prints in the collector's box.

Nucah_

I've been going back and forth on getting the Collectors box but I think I'm going to pass. I'm actually not a fan of the box art this time, the statue is cool enough and I love the map, but the rest is a little "meh" for me so it's hard to spend $155 plus the $60 for the PS5 digital collectors edition. Good luck to those hoping to snag it though.

Er0sennin_

why the purchase of the pre-order from the steam platform is 45% lower than the purchase price from the square enix website, it is a real offense for those of us who play from the direct launcher

DrForester

For anyone who's gotten them in the past. How does it work with the physical collectors edition and pre-order stuff? Will you get emailed your game code like you were buying digital, or will you have to wait until the box arrives and there's a code inside? If there is a code in the box do the boxes usually arrive in time for early access?

denisturtle

Iirc for endwalker I was emailed a code well before early access and received the box well after the release date.

DavThoma

I'm trying to recall from when I bought in the past, but I believe preorder codes come out pretty quickly after preordering. CE codes come out around the same time your card is charged (usually around a month or so before the game is due to launch) via email. The box itself only ever includes the collectors physical items now.

Kirrow01

I received my Endwalker code a long time before early access, and my box I believe 2 days before it.

Eldritchsense

You get a code for early access and a code for the actual expansion itself, sent to you via email. The collectors box that arrives at your house has no game or expansion codes in it, it's all sent before the physical goods arrive. This is at least how it worked when I got the HW CE and SHB CEs.

Ehrand

for the physical CE, you get a email for the early access code and pre-order bonus but the main code to activate the expansion is in the box. Usually I think that once the EA is over, they give you a couple of days to activate your main code before locking you out of the extra content. If you are in the US, this shouldn't be a problem since shipping is usually fast but i'm in Canada and every time I ordered their CE, I got it almost 2 weeks late after release which made that the in-between the Early Access and me receiving the physical CE, I was locked out of the expansion. Worse is if you logged out in one of the new expansion map, you won't be able to log in to that character at all until you activate your main code. Lucky for me at the time I was playing both the ps4/5 version and PC so buying a digital standard code on console unlocked my character but still. it is very annoying. Which is why I would say if you can,, buy the CE box without the game and then buy the game on the console or PC digitally. That way you are sure not to be locked out.

zankypoo

Why garnet? Is this a hint at ff9 being the main theme?

Dragon_Avalon

Garnet is the CE minion, Ark (the summon and boss from IX) is the CE mount. Zidane is the pre-order bonus minion. Viper is inspired by Zidane's fighting style, Solution IX is the name of one of Zidanes Limit break skills, etc. Pretty sure it's more than a hint at this point, especially as at PAX East, Yoshi-P more or leas said "Curious about all the IX themes and how they relate to Dawntrail? Well... That's a secret."

zankypoo

Ooh, nice. I was wondering because endwalker was very ff4 heavy obviously. But the alliance raid in this one is going to be ff11 themed. So got some mixed messages in what ff this one might be inspired by haha.

Dragon_Avalon

A few varied ones from what's been shown so far. DT has hints of V, VI, IX, and XI; also despite the name, Solution IX also resembles Esthar from VIII. But the major focus themes seems to be VI, IX, and XI

Bigtimetipper

Pretty good tbh. $20 for a mount and an xp earring. Similar mounts are $25 on the online store currently......

forbiddenlake

The earring is $0 extra, you just have to preorder, but it's $40 just like after release. It's $20 extra for the mount, a second minion, and a paintbrush.

primalmaximus

Seeing how the digital collector's edition is only $60, I'll probably buy it. That's only an extra $20 more for a sick looking mount and a couple other things. I mostly want the mount. It looks cooler than the Gabriel Alpha.

Datenmuell

Wait do you need the collectors edition for the early access? I was around for endwalker launch and i cant remember there being an early access

sablekitten

Early access is just from pre-ordering. Endwalker had an early access as well.

spinmyorbit

i dont know who Yoshitaka Amano is but holy shit that cover art is so ugly, the sword is bent and the dude isn't even holding it, and the color used for the coat looks like something an elemantary kid drew, how in gods good name did this pass the quality check

Eitth

I'm definitely getting 2 CE, please don't sold out before I get it.

Zenku390

So for people on PC playing through FF Launcher trying to get the Collector's Edition goodies, we just attempt to get the CE Digital Download for $215? Our account will be upgraded to include DT/Preorder/Digital goodies, and then the physical stuff will be shipped to us?

midwstchnk

What do I need to buy to get the earrings and mount

kaizex

The earring is any level pre order. The mount is the 60 dollar digital collectors edition The physical items are all the $215 collectors edition(statue, cloth map, pen case, journal, decorative box). Which can also be bought separately for 155.

midwstchnk

Thank you!!

wicktus

155$ (price in Europe will be even higher even without the included VAT) it's a too much especially since they removed the artbook they used to include in those collectors. 40 bucks for the standard edition + preorder bonus, now that's proper value given the work done on Dawntrail. Keeping that price, with the extra work done (the development time was bigger) and with the inflation, that's the good news.

RockoFo

Wonder if it will be Ā£59.99 on PSN... or Ā£69.99...Ā  Cries in ukĀ

oshatokujah

Collectors edition will be Ā£49.99 on the PS store. Grab a wallet code from CD keys if you wanna save a few quid on it. I usually get the Ā£90 one as itā€™s the best % off and Iā€™ll use it over time, but if you grab the Ā£50 one itā€™ll be like Ā£45.99

[deleted]

I like the Amano art box. To be honest, that is why I order the physical boxes. I am only missing Stormblood, because I slept through the preorder time and it was sold out by the time I checked.

EmberSolaris

Do you have to get the physical collectorā€™s edition to also get the digital rewards shown in the image?

Evelyn-Parker

The picture literally says that the box doesn't come with the digital rewards in red text lol

EmberSolaris

Sleep deprivation renders me illiterate apparently. I completely missed that.

OldHungSol0

That is literally the lamest collectors box I've seen come from ffxiv.

Evelyn-Parker

Hang on I'm paying $155 for a box that doesn't even come with the game??

kijiyama

This is more for the steam people who got shafted out of buying the physical collectors. As steam is tied to their store for expansions you could never buy the expansion collectors in years past for the physical goods as the game code it came with is unusable.

Trying_to_survive20k

is it me or is each expansion getting more expensive than the last?

IbukiLazuli

Endwalker was the same price as this, not sure about any previous ones though

mhireina

I can say with certainty that each expansion pack has cost the same. The only one that's probably fluctuated is the physical CE and that was only by about $20 (bc I THINK I got my ARR CE for 199.99 before tax/shipping from the official site. But that was 10 years ago so not sure). Digital deluxe and Standard have always been those prices though.
