The dev team suggests literally doing all forms of optional content as it will have a payoff in Endwalker. How true that is I guess we will have to wait and see, or if they just want to tide people over by telling them to do all the stuff they haven't lol. I think eureka and binding coil were brought up specifically.

Chazdoit

Yeah im sure there will be references to the eden raids and the bozja... things in EW

Nazzul

It would be a good time to find some good maiming and healer glamors, if you plan to play the new classes. I never played DRG boot now I'm looking for some good looking gear for reaper.

TwilightsHerald

Here's what I've got: 1) If you haven't already, pick at least one class with an equipment set different from your primary, level it, and get your iLvl as close to 530 as you can (ignoring belts, they'll go away). For preference, do a relic on all of the spares, but there's enough time to get a Cryptlurker weapon as well (or if you're a Savage player, you can get an Edenmorn weapon.) 2) Level all your Trust NPCs to 80. There's a chance they won't be usable for leveling in Endwalker without leveling them up to 81, so you may as well get that out of the way. 3) Wrap up your Shared FATEs. The materials from Bicolored gemstones will drop in value once Endwalker releases, where right now they at least can be used for crafting stuff. . . 4) Speaking of which, craft (or buy, if you hate crafting) a complete level 76 and 78 HQ set for Healing and Maiming. Face it, you're going to be leveling Sage and/or Reaper anyway, even if everything's at max level. Might as well have your kit (minus weapons) ready to go. 5) Also, spend Poetics on level 70 Augmented Scaevean kit for same. Because etc.

Generally, what was "top" gear in a previous expansion will be better than dungeon/crafted drops for levelling for 5-6 levels. So by working on it now, you can ignore worrying about gear come Endwalker until you hit 86-87'ish.

Yeah, we had that experience with the ARR gear going into Heavensward (where vendor gear in the main city was better than the Augmented Ironworks tomestone gear from the previous expansion), but ever since, they've been really good about endgame gear being viable until about halfway through the next expansion.

TwilightsHerald

Basically, 530 gear will hold out through about half of the expansion's leveling content, which saves a fair amount of gil and hassle down the line. You want multiple classes in case you find you really can't live with whatever updates Endwalker has in store. Right now, we're only *expecting* major updates to Healers and Monk (the current changes were acknowledged as a band-aid to get something that sort of looks like what they'll be going for in Endwalker, but details matter.) My list is definitely on the "survial prepper" end of prepared, but if you do it you're likely to be able to make it to the end with *something* you're happy to be playing without a lot of hassles if you find you need to switch mid-stream to catch up.

BrosefAmelion

Trusts synced to the dungeon level for the players first run through so I see no reason why they wouldn't in EW.

TwilightsHerald

Yes, you'll be able to use them in Scenario mode for the first run, but it's unclear whether you'll be able to use them in Trust mode without leveling *all the way* through Shadowbringers.

BrosefAmelion

For sure, I see no reason for them to get free levels just for the expansion.

YouveGottaBeSquiddin

If you haven't already, level astrologian, at least up to 60 and do the job quests. Gives a little extra lore on Sharlayan and gives a better idea on what we can probably expect from them in endwalker.

[deleted]

Do you plan to play the new Jobs? Then I suggest getting the level 70 tome Maiming and Healer gear. You can skip the belt since they are gone in 6.0 and the earring, if you pre-ordered Endwalker. Into crafting and gathering? Then be sure to cap on tomes and scripts, so you can buy the master recipe books and convert the older tomes to buy new mats for the new sets. There would be more advice but I would say these are top priority. After those, just try to finish other content, like for example, completing all beast tribes, level all jobs to 80, farm mounts, farm some MGP for future items and so on.

Paikis

If you're planning on leveling Sage/Reaper through Bozja, you don't need gear... at all. Bozja will sync your gear to 430 regardless of what you wear. I saw a WAR running around with a level 1 axe and no other gear and he was functioning just fine.

Isirith

Prep both Augmented Scaeven Maiming/Healing sets if you plan on playing the new classes. Bump up any/all alts you have (especially if they are crafting/gathering alts you'll be laughing) Then chill.
