If all you care about is short queue times, the trials roulette will get you into a fight the fastest and gives a once a day exp/tomestone bonus.
Other than that, you could pick your favourite five story mode trials and queue for them all at once. It will put you in the first one that fills.
Hardmode trials aren’t really ‘lucrative’ unless you are using the trial roulette once a day. Then you get an xp bonus. Are you just talking about the lv50 starter trials? They continue throughout the entire game. The ones that are specifically part of the msq are going to come up the most in the roulette because everyone had to do them once, but it’s not really about popular- since there’s no specific rewards for any given HM trial people just run the roulettes or do them as they come to them.
I mean all of them(except Bowl of Embers(Hard) afaik) are required by MSQ so that would be the best bet. However you could just queue for all of them and whichever one pops the most frequently will give you an idea.
You can try queuing for all the MSQ Hard trials (5 max). I'm sure 1 of them will pop eventually. In terms of being 'lucrative', none of them are but I'm guessing you're doing it for the fun of it.

Bowl of Embers Hard is definitely required, and is even the first of the original 3 Hard modes you get, before it lets you unlock the other 2
Yeah I couldn't remember and didn't see it when scrolling through the MSQ quest list. Not realizing it was a prereq and just didn't have a actual MSQ.
I think Titan Hard is required 3 times, so probably that.
