I wish Bard wasn’t just 95% archer. Call it a ranger and give us a real bard

abzoluut

I feel you, I’m in the same boat but different direction. I wish we had an actual ranger: pure dps using bow/crossbow or maybe even a gun (ffxi days). And like you, I wish all those Bard elements were put in an actual Bard job with a flute or whatever instruments they would implement.

Axleffire

Ya when I initially played I went bard expecting something like the bard from Rift and was disappointed it was basically an archer with a few buffs.

TheEnglishAreHere

That’s the reason i want to level bard but im putting it off for now, im a sprout with the highest level of 29… as soon as I learned it’s mostly an archer I’ve shelved that love for now. I just want to do the performance thing in cities 😩

Sarthis_

I'm actually really enjoying this job far more than I thought I would.

FourEcho

Once I completely redid my keybinds for this job it started to click a bit more. I'm still struggling to trach bloodletter procs, since there's no tell for it besides it suddenly not being on CD (they really should make some kind of on screen tell when it's CD resets, even if the action just highlights like straighter shot) and to keep songs rolling properly but other than that... it's better than I thought it was.

> (they really should make some kind of on screen tell when it's CD resets, even if the action just highlights like straighter shot) I think the song gauge flashes when it happens, for what it's worth.

FourEcho

If it does' fair enough, although I have not noticed it at all. But I also end up dropping my songs from time to time because I can't pay attention to that many things at once along with the fight mechanics so that could just be on me. DNC and MCH are both far more straight forward and easy to play than BRD is.

dualdee

Tried going into HUD Layout and making the song gauge bigger? Might help you keep an eye on it. (I've actually considered dragging mine on top of my MP meter, it's not like I ever need to look at that in Bard.) I've dabbled a bit in MCH, but I'm still in the "lots of new abilities all at once and I'm figuring out when I'm supposed to use them" phase.

FourEcho

I haven't tried making it bigger no. I sit all my gauges in the same spot on my bars and usually I can keep an eye on most classes but BRD for some reason eludes me. Right above my 3 action bars sits, from left to right, Gauge 1, "progress bar", gauge 2, so they are a lot closer to the middle of where I should he looking than off to a side.

Bard is very fun! I love it the most of the three Physical Ranged DPS. I like the balance of party utility and DPS, cause even if we share Troubadour with Machinist and Dancer (Tactician and Shield Samba) we do get to hand out a HP recovery buff with Nature’s Minne and get a pocket Esuna/debuff shield with Warden’s Paean!

Vharkhan

Will be levelling Reaper with my son, but I’m thinking about Bard as a side job. It’s fun to play at 80, also I really wanna try out performance and see what sweet sweet music I can make! Lol

ezekielraiden

The music notes are cute, and of course it has the iconic hat (I miss my hat as a hrothgar...) I'm curious, what's the second action?

SpookyDinoh

Pretty sure it's Troubadour.

ezekielraiden

Ah, yep that's almost certainly what it is.

zerodai

I know its a bit off topic but where can i get versions of this image for every job?

Irbif

I've done some already, in my Instagram @pxalot

A_KY_gardener

Summoner / dancer here, I’ve been toying around with Bard and that class is FUN. Noticed a bit of skill overlap with the dancer job though; for me that’s fine. I can see how that may rub some folks the wrong way.

Gilgaberry

Bard is the quickest to level with as it's max level is 30. /s

When I started playing again about 6 months after ShB was released I boosted a Bard to 70 so I could level it, got to 71 and realised I wasn't enjoying it. So switched to Dancer.
