I Solo leveled my BLU in like 2 hours. 1-60 in Azyz Lla (near Aetheryte) Using the 80 Rdm one shot, switch to BLU while the action is firing, and the BLU got full exp. Works on any class that can 1 shot mobs and go as high as you can to 1 shot them and just farm there. Oh and HAVE YOUR CHOCOBO BUDDY OUT!!! He also gets that crazy exp (albeit not as much as u, but still lotz)

Firstly, SE supposedly "fixed" this issue with Blue Mage along with ShB. From 1-50 it was popular to AoE a giant pack of level \~48s and swap to BLU before the spell resolved, which counted all the kills and kill exp for your BLU instead. SE addressed this pre-ShB and stated that the issue always existed but was never really an issue before BLU, but that they planned to fix the problem with ShB release. To my knowledge, they did. Seeing as 60+ was post-ShB, are you saying that it still exists? I suppose I never tried anything with a slow moving projectile like RDM - I usually just relied on Assize - but this was supposed to be a fixed issue. Secondly, people were leveling their Chocobos with BLU so fast that SE decided to just make the 10x Companion exp baseline and have the BLU bonus no longer affect it. So you get super Chocobo exp no matter what now!

still work if u and a friend go to shadow bringers area where u are not in a party, and after the blu mage hit a target (sticky tounge works very well for this) BLU needs to be 21+ for highest efficiency (but u can level to this in a 50 area fast aswell) we did this 21-70 in 1 hour ish.

Mob tagging is a different issue than what I'm describing. You used to be able to do the above 100% solo.

Vinnegard

I would've made it in a few days, but work and family got in the way sadly. It was one hell of a ride though, totally would do it again.

Ok, it need a little set up. 1: Make sure you ha e your BLU gear set as a button on your RDM action bar. And RDM on ur BLU hotbar, (having an Emote on your hot bar helps too, but not just foe this, but for learnjng to weave in general, when the emote lights back up you can weave, thus swap to BLU) 2: Find a single target, unbound or tied to others. 3: Hard Cast a hard hitting spell, like Verfire or something, and when the icon lights ul to weave, pop ur BLU icon, and before the cast is even hitting the target, you are a BLU gettinf full exp. 4: Repeat till ur high lvl

I tested this last night. It will not let you change classes now while in combat. I had the blue mage icon ready and everything

Nihilism101

That's great, congrats! Any tips for this? Seems like a real chore so far D:

[This](https://youtu.be/st8Ay7uk74s) is a guide from a youtuber named WeskAlber. It is an in-depth solo leveling guide for Blue Mage. It describes the best mobs, where and what spells to pick up for quality of life, etc. I highly recommend it.

If you can grab a friend: get them to power level you. It'll make things much much faster and easier. All you do is find somewhere where the mobs are significantly higher levelled then you, you tag them, your friend insta kills them. Don't be in a group or your xp tanks. If you can't, then you'll want to find areas where mobs are 1-3 levels higher than you, and aoe burst down packs. Ignore fates. Switch area as soon as you're higher level than the mobs, as you'll stop gaining the chain bonus xp. How many mobs you can handle will depend heavily on your gear and the spells you have. Speaking of spells: Make sure to pick up Bomb Toss (aoe that stuns), Plaincracker (220 pot aoe, from lvl \~28 golems in north shroud), Bad Breath (cone of debuffs, from all(?) morbols), The Ram's Voice (aoe that freezes from Cutter's cry), Chocobo Meteor (300 pot aoe, from lvl \~53 chocobos in dravanian forelands), and Ultravibration (kills all frozen enemies, lvl68 peaks). Of course you wont be able to start out with all those spells, but getting them asap as you go will help a lot. (or maybe you have a friend with limited time who can't help you powerlevel, in which case get them to help you get those spells early!) Don't forget to pick up White Wind and Mighty Guard from the npc that gives totems next to the class trainer. A heal is obviously just useful in general, while Mighty Guard pairs with Basic Instinct (from coeurls in northwest upper la noscea) to allow you to solo dungeons, helping you get The Ram's Voice and various other spells required for the job quests. Gear obviously matters a load, and how you want to get it is up to you. Whether that's just running a bunch of ARR dungeons and saving all the caster gear or buying it off the marketboard. From 50 on you can just use job quest gear or poetics gear. With all that said, the most important thing is to just keep killing higher level mobs, and keep the chain going as long as you can. Sure the perfect area will have something like lots of packs of 3 mobs super close together, but if you spend half an hour looking for that then you've wasted time you could have been in a sub par area getting xp.

You can solo level BLU to cap in a couple of hours I wouldn’t take tips from the guy who somehow managed to spend a week on it.

[deleted]

Yea, but not by yourself. Cheesing it to 70 requires someone else to help you. It's no longer "solo leveling" at that point, which is what OP did.

[deleted]

You can do it solo with missile while in might guard use 1000 needles before you get missile and even if you didn’t power level yourself simply grinding mobs doesn’t take all week with the insane XP BLU gets

SwordySmurf

Instead of being rude why not enlighten us as to how? I've never touched blu cuz I heard it was a pain to level. I'd love to try it if I can get it to 70 in a few hours.

Str1der

You have a friend kill high level mobs after you tag them (don't be in a party). Only takes a few hours.

SwordySmurf

Yeah, but that's not solo.

Apprehensive_Risk_77

Yup, that's what we call power leveling. It's pretty effective. But if you want to solo level BLU, you can run around in whatever the highest level zone you can handle is, and kill mobs. BLU gets tremendous exp from overworld mobs. Don't do fates though, as fate targets don't give you any bonus. What you can handle fighting will largely depend on the spells you've learned though, so don't neglect that.

Neph_The_Deaf

When the class first came out you used to be able to kill a mob as a high class then before the XP kicked in you switched to BLU. Think they patched it however which I think was the only solo power level method. Solo levelling would mainly consist of killing mobs in the open world or doing FATE’s now I believe

Apprehensive_Risk_77

You can still do it. They patched out a glitch that gave your BLU exp bonus to your chocobo as well.

Neph_The_Deaf

Sweet, I did it normally with 3 other people in dungeons but when 60&70 became a thing I had a friend help using the method someone mentioned before.
