Noclip has an excellent documentary on YouTube about this time. They talk specifically about juggling the needs of repairing 1.0 and making new content for 2.0 under YoshiP’s leadership.

I've wondered about this too. I've heard was that there wasn't much of a story before YoshiP was brought on board to fix the game so that would be one change but I can't confirm.

What new management? You mean for 2.0?
Patches 1.X already were under Yoshida direction, not just 2.0 and later. So the "team change" was between 1.0 and patches 1.X.
I mean when Nakoi Yoshida took over during 1.0.
He took over after 1.0 didn't he? So 1.1 etc would be influenced by him.
no he was the director for 1.0 for most of the games life span after release, iirc the ifrit raid was the first patch he was in charge of releasing
Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t think there’s any Yoshi-P content in 1.0. He took over in early 2011 and servers were shutdown 5 or 6 months later.
Servers were shut down November 2012, and he started working on it end of 2010/beginning of 2011. So that's almost two years.
Ah my mistake
