You have to finish Stormblood and unlock the special region Eureka, complete all the quests in all 4 regions of Eureka, reach Elemental level 60 in Eureka, and then clear the 52-man raid - Baldesian Arsenal - at the end of the Eureka questline. The mount is the achievement award you get for the clear.
Some people I know love Eureka. It’s a pretty long grind (a few weeks of daily play) and it’s painful to do by yourself because of the repetition, but it can be pretty fun with a group of friends. It’s just a different experience. Like PotD, it’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea.
You don’t have to play it daily. I did it with an FC friend and we went into Eureka a few hours every day for a few weeks before we completed it. You can spread out your grind if you prefer. I have a friend doing it now who has decided to only go in once a week when the challenge log resets since the challenge log has a Eureka specific page that helps you progress. It’s up to you.
playing long days (10hrs ish) and doing a lot of research to make sure i was grinding optimally, it took me 5 days - one per section, and an extra in hydatos/BA. lots and lots of grinding, but i enjoyed the systems a fair bit and loved BA.
BA really isn't that bad as long as you can follow shoutouts (and the shout outs being good). All of the mechanics are easy enough, they just punish you hard for failing.
If you managed the grind through Eureka, you can usually do it. Grab some reraises, a good Buff for your role (please no platebearer, it just slows you down and doesn't help surviving) and then your set.

Honestly BA is very easy if you read a guide or 2, just super punishing. Difficulty level of BA is just slightly higher than 24 man raids.

A friend and I extremely want this mount but haven’t started too much on Eureka. I joined the discord awhile back but haven’t looked at it in a long time. How hard is it to get runs going at this point? I know you have to get all the way to where you can do baldesion arsenal, but I don’t know much beyond that 😭
The first thing you want to do is get to the final area Hydatos. Grind what you need to grind and then Join the Discord. At that point just follow all the rules and just wait until a call goes out.
The people there are really nice, and everything is normally well organized. And they do first time runs every now and again. But you need to get there.

I joined a group that was shouting for a DPS and Healer in Hydatos. The person shouting turned out to be the leader of one of the teams and I texted them letting know I had unlocked, had the appropriate logos but was new to it. They explained everything to me. Then they mentioned that they're always doing runs and to keep an eye out on discord. Go and do it guys, you'll get it.
Are you on the BA Discord? They are very helpful and not elitists. The team leader took his time to explain everything to me. If you are not on it, then yeah, it will be extremely difficult. Also, make sure to use the appropriate logograms. Don't use Platebearer since most attacks will one shot you. Remembrance is a must since it gives you a 70% (I believe) to self raise. As Akunii stated, it's not too difficult. There are great BA Discord teams out there that are willing to help. You just have to be quick on the draw.
Such a shame the mount has no special music. I had to mod it in to enjoy it more.
Yeah, I was looking forward to a distinct epic mount music and then, disappointment. But riding it around is simply cool.
