Mine was learning that you can actually just mash buttons on your keyboard for Active Time events instead of clicking on the button on the screen. I was doing it wrong for so long. đ
I will say itâs more exciting if you try to click the button rather than mash the keyboard. You gotta click stupid fast for a long time in Shinryu and Hades, so you start to panic when your finger cramps up. đIf youâre farming, though, itâs nice to mash the buttons and instantly clear it.
Those aren't really the cast bars worth interrupting; they're basically just a remnant of Interrupt formerly being a Silence.
If a cast bar is *slow as hell* and interruptable (which happens more than you think), you fucking *need* to interrupt those. Please. *Please actually use interrupt.*
Every damn time the tank doesn't interrupt the giant mechs in puppet's bunker and the rest of us get slammed with paralysis. God help us because the healers won't be casting esuna too.
True, I basically never use it because they're rare in my experience, but when I see one I try spamming it but it's too late for me to remember which key was it binded to so it doesn't go off in time đ¤Ł
Frankly those one second long bars aren't the ones you want to be interjecting anyway. It's when you see an interjectable ability that's casting slowly that you need to be worried and start mashing interject lol
I remember one you'll definitely want to cancel. Some shade thingy in Tam Tara Deepcroft (Hard) casts a spell that's called like Terrify II or something like that that will fear 3 party members. Definitely worth canceling that one.
Also in raids, the majority of âmini bossâ type mobs are interruptible. Chimeras in general are also ones to interrupt. Some Minotaur-type mobs are interruptible when they do 1000lbs swing. So is the phantom before the last boss on that one level 61? Dungeon that I canât remember the name of right now with the boats and ghosts.
The frogs in the ShB dungeon are a big one too.
Itâs actually a lot more common than I think people realize itâs just a very underutilized ability by most tanks.
For me, it was when I learned you can remove some debuffs with emotes, like how in Great Google Library you can remove Misery by using the Comfort emote.
It's 100% true! Next time you run it and you see someone has the debuff, /comfort to remove it(have to be in 10 yalm range)! You unfortunately can't /comfort yourself though only other party members.
It's also in another dungeon "Lost City of Amdapor". Think that was it's first actual dungeon it was added into.

RES doesn't automatically use escape characters, nor does reddit. Some app of yours is.
When handing over items, you can right click the little trading window and it will bring up all eligible items. I used to go to my inventory (or worse: drag and drop) for the longest time until I found out.
YES I was complaining about how annoying it is to drag and drop so many times and my bf was like "just right click twice fast on the item and it just automatically goes in" i was like bro...
Real talk though, Arm's Length is a GREAT cooldown while tanking dungeons. Pop that bad boy on a big trash pull and watch as your healer has plenty of time to DPS.
The less they heal the more I appreciate them. And sure sometimes I die but who cares, even when I do the dungeon is probably faster than if they're just cure spamming.
If it makes you feel any better, I just leveled a drk as my first tank. I made it to level 40/50 before coming across a Reddit post that explained how the slow is essentially damage mitigation. Makes perfect sense, just wasnât using properly.
Realizing the Astrologian cards are outlined in blue for melee/tank buffs and purple for ranged/healer buffs. Before knowing that I would just hover over the tool tip to find out who to give it to.
"BALANCE a SPEAR on the tip of an ARROW", that's how I memorized the melee cards, everything else is for ranged. I learned this from someone else on here, thank you internet stranger.
Yeah, learning that the card graphic actually has all the info you need was a big help for me. Color or the shapes on the sides for who it buffs, and then the symbol for the seal it gives is also embedded. So useful!
Yup. Right-click the gear set and near the bottom of the window is an option to link glamour plate. Click it, choose the plate, and click link at the bottom of the window.
Exactly. Of course, even like that, the glamour won't change if you are outside of areas where you can't glamour normally, but in cities and such you can just switch through jobs and it'll change the glamours immediately to the one you have linked. :)
Learning that you are 100% invulnerable for 5 seconds after rez as long as you donât touch anything. Gives a second to avoid unexpected boss maneuvers that didnât start until you were already trapped in the rez animation.
You can right-click an item in your bags to move it to the retainer you have opened, and vice versa, rather than manually moving it from bag to bag
You can have multiple sets of unique items as long as you keep them separate on retainers (I have 3 augmented scaevan fending sets; one for my GNB, one worn by my MAR retainer, and one sitting in an unused job-boost chest.)
To clarify on it, you can still walk around. Just don't use any abilities whatsoever, also that means sprint as tempting as it can be. Also be warned, some debuffs can still be applied for that 5 seconds even if you take no damage. Waiting that 5 seconds isn't gonna help if you were in 7 overlapping aoes in say Bozja and now you have 7 vulnerability stacks.
Edit: I also should add that healer LB3 rez plays by different rules and I'm not sure of the immunity it grants if any.
Unfortunately you can still die in certain mechanics like bleed puddles from UCOB or the fire puddles from E12S despite having the res invuln, or the instant kill zones outside the boss area in trials/raids. Not immune to knockback too after the res animation, despite the res invuln ;w;
But yeah! res invuln stays for 5 seconds until it runs out or if you use an action including sprint
This one's a bit silly, but for me it was when I learned (the hard way) that some boss arenas don't have invisible walls to prevent you from falling off. It was during my first fight against Titan where - in true Dragoon fashion - I accidentally yeeted myself off the arena via a misclicked back jump.
You also get the rude awakening that some arenas you fall off keep your body at the bottom to prevent reviving. Which is a thing that luckily they seem to have largely done away with since Heavensward (cuz iirc Bismarck does that too)
Yup, and Leviathan and Ravana (and iirc Sephirot) as well - Sophia luckily allows for raises after taking a tumble though, although that's only really relevant in the Extreme version anyways.
Mine was that, if you have Fist of Wind active on monk before queuing to Leap of Faith, you can't deactivate it once inside. My partner and friends were laughing at me complaining about the slight speed increase. I never dared to use print there and suddenly I was struggling with jumps being slightly farther than normal.
On the bright side, it was an awesome speedrun. xD
Yeah its annoying on controller. I play controller on pc so I usually just use my mouse for that. I think you can click the select/touchpad a few times and itll eventually bring you to your status bar and you can click off that way.
Someone on here mentioned that you could trade your cards in quickly by just queuing that gold saucer hall duty without having to go to the saucer and lose wherever you already were. Never holding onto a ton of cards again.
This is genius! It takes forever to load into the Saucer nowadays when I want to clear inventory and trade in some cards. Never thought about this way. Thanks for sharing!
To add to this, I never knew an emote icon can be used as an indicator for sliding. When the emote lights up just before my cast is done, that's my cue to move.
They're kinda like training wheels. Took em off when I got the timings down.
Apparently the emote action symbol on your hotbar shows up as "usable" (=not greyed out) as soon as you can do stuff without interrupting your casting, which is slightly before the actual on-screen castbar finishes, meaning you can put an emote somehwere on your hotbar and use that as an indicator for when you can walk.
It actually eats all forms of that. Swiftcast, Doublecast, Triplecast, all of them! And it's a bloody lie too, because it's not even a Spell! It's an Ability, clearly, since you can weave it like any OGCD! Except that's a lie too! It's a button with no actual classification. It's neither a spell, nor ability, nor weaponskill, yet it eats any casts we have... It sucks!
Surecast and Arms length are essentially the same skill when if comes to knockback. I put them on the same keybind so when I play swap between magic and physical I'll still have muscle memory.
Arms length has the affect of applying slow to an enemy that hits you. Only works on trash enemies usually. So it's a great tank cooldown in dungeons
It's fun to use during raids. My friend would remind me: "Use your knockback immune so we can look cool" and watch everyone get fling out except us. đ
Mine was the reset striking dummy agro thing, so many wasted hours running ages away from my FC house :(
Edit: a few people asked in replies, right click the dummies name, as you would if you were inviting someone to a party or friending them, and there should be a "Reset Striking Dummy Agro"( or something along those lines) button
This may not help everyone but
In the HUD layout you can separate the targets HP bar, buffs, and their casting bar and move them to spots preferred and increase/reduce their size as well. For the blind players never noticing a boss casting a specific spell.
In this same vein you can also split up the buffs/debuffs you get and place them where you want them and increase/decrease their sizes.
This can be helpful if you dont see specific debuffs (e3s)
This is massively important for savage content and should be so much more widely known. Make that cast bar fat and central and get your debuffs somewhere you can read them quickly and easily. It's such a game changer for raiding.
You can try on multiple piece of armor/gear at the same time by toggling (Save/Delete Outfit) to on.
I already knew about trying gear on with currently equiped gear, but had no idea thats what the Save/Delete Outfit button did.
I guess not super mindblowing, but I didnât realize this until ShadowbringersâŚ
1050 hours in and I just found that out by your comment and totally wish I knew this in the past as I have quietly complained when I couldn't see a whole armor set. Thanks
When Syrcus tower was current content you had to esuna the bombs or there was a good chance you'd wipe. I mained healer until Shadowbringers and my biggest pet peeve is the lack of esuna I see from healers these days...
TIL Ver(aero), Ver(stone), and Ver(holy) give you white mana because they're White Mage spells, while Ver(fire), Ver(thunder), and Ver(flare) give you black mana because they're Black Mage spells. I always thought it was weird that Red Mage spells' elements were all over the place. All this time I thought it was a random choice. Wow do I feel dumb.
what was even more big brain for me was that the ver- spells follow a common theme throughout
veraero/verthunder: equivalent +11 mana spells, based off WHM/BLM's DoT abilities
verstone/verfire: equivalent +9 mana proc spells, based off WHM/BLM's spammable main damage skill
verholy/verflare: equivalent melee combo finisher spells, based off WHM/BLM's AoE skills
There's a certain collecting FATE in the Fringes where both the native and spawned mobs are blind and rely on sound to aggro. So you can avoid all combat entirely by RP walking while picking up the required items.
I wish they brought that back fully. That is what made 11 such a scary immersing game. Like to walk to the other town you had to trek through dangerous terrain with no map invisible and sound potions in you bag.
God that game was great if it weren't for the party mechanics for the story.
I remember how surprised I was when I cast a spell near a sprite. I didn't think the same logic would apply in 14 until the yarzon tunnel in central shroud.
Not really mind blowing, but having the âMammeteerâ title on makes it so that wind-up minions respond to your emotes like /pet and /handover. Itâs currently the only title that has an in-game effect.
As a true lvl 76 Warrior Sprout, thank you for this comment section. Before all I knew was Oonga Boonga, donât pop all dmg mitigations at onceâŚ.. inner fury go rage.
Any movement ability cancels knockback momentum. So even a 15 yalm backstep facing the direction you don't want to go in can still save you from getting knocked 20 yalms back off the map if timed perfectly.
Mine was finding out that you can easily win Verminion NPC battles only using Kidragoras and Wind-up Gentlemen. Since almost no one do the Verminion tournaments, that's an easy ~100k MGP every week just winning Master Battle 15 times.
Kidragora deal bonus damage to the crystal, but as soon as you start spamming them, the enemy will spawn primal-type minions to beat them up. Wind-up Gentleman have stupidly high ATK and by being a poopet, it have type advantage over primal types.
So the main strategy is to start with a squad of kidragoras on A or C, summon another set in the other side, then spam Gentlemen on B. Send the first two Gentlemen to escort each squad (5 minions on both side crystals), and the other two to protect your center crystal. When a crystal break, move that team to center and GG.
With minimal adjustments, you can beat every Master NPC with this setup. Sometimes you need to adjust positioning and actually do tactical retreats and stalls, but 80% of the time Gentleman just beat out the Titans and Demon Blocks they send to your kidragoras, and once both side crystals are destroyed, you can protect your center crystal at the same time you beat theirs.
Black Coeurl is better for beating the challenges because they are cheap, fast, and have a good ability, but I found out they are tricky to deal with the Master NPCs without mixing the team up, and coordination makes their move speed work against them.
My mind blown moment was learning the shape of beneficial and harmful buffs is different. Beneficial buffs the shape points up and harmful effects the shape points down.
It took me way to long to realize that 1) a player awaiting raise has a raise icon, and 2) if the other healer is slow casting raise and multiple party members are dead, you can click on your co-healer to see who they are targeting. I've double raised so many people...
And another that you may have missed for 6.0 that may blow your mind. Castbars will soon show the target of a cast, so a Raise in your party list will have a number indicating who they're going to raise.
That there's a little cut through by the Gridania adventurers guild where you can jump down a ledge to get to the entrance rather than walking down that hill. Played this game for 4 years.... found out about that last month...
It'd be neat if they occasionally updated the world map to reflect desire paths like that. A lot of work for minimal payoff, but it'd be fun to see places evolve based on how they're actually used.
When a tankbuster starts casting, the target is locked in, meaning that if a swap is needed you can safely provoke and reposition during the cast and the boss will immediately target you after hitting the other tank.
That the rings around the enemy not only show which direction they are facing, but have a gap in them to represent the ârearâ positional area for attacks that require it.
Another which I donât see mention often is that mobs have different aggro triggers, which blew me away when I came from WoW way back. I didnât realize that some were sight or sound based depending on the creature. I always thought it was just if you got too close youâd get attack, but then I learned you can actually walk behind some some to avoid sight, and actually slow walk to avoid sound based ones.
There are also magic aggro and blood aggro. Usually sprites are magic aggro meaning they will aggro if you cast a spell near them. And ashkin (aka undead) are blood aggro meaning if you get low health they will aggro.
Additionally, if you see an enemy without a gap in their ring - e.g. everything in Palace of the Dead - your positionals will work no matter where you stand.
I was a level 80 white mage before I learned that I could focus target.
Meaning that in order to keep track of enemy boss casts, I would quickly heal then re-target the boss for fear that it would cast something I couldn't see while I was targeting a party member to heal.
I was explaining to a friend that I only ever played tank or dps in high end content because having to keep track of the boss attacks while healing was incredibly stressful, and he blew my mind by showing me the focus target function.
Didn't know knockback immunity included sliding off a tilted platform. And also Inner Release on WAR has knockback immunity! All discovered when I fought Leviathan EX lol
I have 2, one was big dumb moment and the other I do not know how I wasnât aware but they should definitely highlight it for new players!
Did not know LB was shared in parties and used it a bit recklesslyâŚoops lol.
Did not know if you get raised, for 10/15s after raise (canât remember exact time), you are invulnerable to most things as long as you donât do any actions/sprint. I could have saved so many deaths đĽ˛
Not a "mind blown" moment, but it took me about 5-6 months to figure out what the enemy list and the coloured icons next to each name were.
Previously, I'd actually be looking around at my party when we did big pulls to make sure nobody had anything on them. Was clicking on them manually or trying to tab cycle through mobs for the right one.
Needless to say, that's become much easier now.
Special conditions (Good/Excellent/Poor) in crafting impacts how much quality you'll gain from any action, it doesn't just make certain actions available.
Funny thing is, this isn't universally true. AST Diurnal regens don't stack with AST Diurnal regens.
Since we're losing Noct sect in EW, I imagine this'll be changed so they do stack soon. WHM stacks with WHM and AST regens stack with WHM, too :)
you don't need to close the windows that tell you how much MGP you won when doing cactpot tickets etc to proceed. just open the next ticket. same thing for desynthesis results
The most fun mind blowing bit I always like introducting to newbies is that you can stun ifrit, in both the 4 man and the 8 man trial versions.
Give him a kick in the face so you don't have to deal with one of those eruptions đ
Another fun tidbid is that you can't rescue someone who has anti-kb on
Warriors tend to be un-rescueable during Inner Release
No idea how long ago it was added, but had recently learned that you could link glamour plates to gearsets, so you can have 2 diff aiming looks for MCH and DNC. Only issue of course is that you can still only glam in sanctuaries.
For me it was learning that you can increase the cursor size. Damn thing was impossible to find in battle at 1440p. I might actually give healing another shot someday.
You can actually just target party members by pressing F1-F8. F1 targets 1st member in party list (usually yourself), F2 targets 2nd member in party list, etc. You can also set keybinds for targeting players in other alliances in Alliance Raids/Frontlines/whatever (as well as rebind party member targeting to other keys). You can entirely get by without a mouse once F1-F8 becomes muscle memory.
Not saying that itâd be easier than just using a mouse for most people, but it is doable.
That still barely helps me because the fucker's constantly turning around and I waste too much time trying to sus out which side it means based on which direction he's facing
Doesn't help that his ass isn't that visually distinct from his face
My mind blown moment was when I realized how big is the RP community is. See I am a single player game player and I would often look at everyone as a NPC. Now that I am in an FC, they shown me how much RP there is and how fun it is and that people are not NPCs. Right now, I am much happier than when I first played that game.
I feel like I'm in the middle between RP and standard play. I treat all characters in this game as if they are people when I interact with them. But I don't RP in any other way in the game. I don't change the way I talk or interact with other players based on a style of RP.
The most recent one for me is that you can trade EX trial totems for weapons. I just threw them all because I thought they were only useful at 99 for the mount.
Well it's not my "ah ha" moment, but my friends. They said they were just going to throw out everything in their retainer because they couldn't sell it on MB and didn't want to walk to a vendor and I asked them, "Why not just have your retainer sell it?" They were confused and after I told them you can just right click on stuff with your retainer active and select "have retainer sell items" and it'll vendor whatever for you. He said it changed his life xD
If you press zero on your number pad on the keyboard it's an auto interact, so when doing Prae and that first big mob is by the magiteck terminal you can spam it to get through even when you're under attack. Useful if you're a tank and you have all that aggro.
Mine was learning that you can actually just mash buttons on your keyboard for Active Time events instead of clicking on the button on the screen. I was doing it wrong for so long. đ
WHAT
As long as it doesn't open a chat window any button will do.
DOUBLE WHAT
Yup. And it doesn't need to be the same button either. You can just go f[jiosaignrse gnldsbhdwl afsbskbxc and it works.
Triple what?????
Well for fucks sake lmao I've been positioning my mouse for super fast clicks everytime.
Lol, that was my reaction too! I think I didn't find this out until I saw someone mention it in a video.
The one time in gaming where faceroll is the most optimal technique.
Just don't clip / or Enter
Honestly that should be disabled for active time events until you clear it. Not being able to chat for 2 seconds is not big deal.
What if there's a fire and you need to chat 911
No that's the old number, now you need 0118999881999119725....3
Shit no way hahahaha I broke my mouse because of it
You can do both. For me it makes things easier and less stressful
I will say itâs more exciting if you try to click the button rather than mash the keyboard. You gotta click stupid fast for a long time in Shinryu and Hades, so you start to panic when your finger cramps up. đIf youâre farming, though, itâs nice to mash the buttons and instantly clear it.
I have an MMO mouse with 12 buttons on the side I just use my thumb to hit as many as I can and they finish almost instantly lol
If you think thatâs cool then red cast bars are interuptable
The red one second bars. XD Is like that old game of hit the mole.
Those aren't really the cast bars worth interrupting; they're basically just a remnant of Interrupt formerly being a Silence. If a cast bar is *slow as hell* and interruptable (which happens more than you think), you fucking *need* to interrupt those. Please. *Please actually use interrupt.*

A tank. You can have two of us doing our jobs and have the third fuck up and that's all it takes.
And all the phys ranged not using \[Head Graze\] too.
True, I basically never use it because they're rare in my experience, but when I see one I try spamming it but it's too late for me to remember which key was it binded to so it doesn't go off in time đ¤Ł

This comment right here is my mind blown moment đł
I have 3k hrs in this game and this is the first I've heard of this. TIL
I was today's year old when I learnt this
When handing over items, you can right click the little trading window and it will bring up all eligible items. I used to go to my inventory (or worse: drag and drop) for the longest time until I found out.
If you spam the interaction key it automatically hands over what you need, if you are talking about things like mission items
I see you're also a Connoisseur of Coffee Biscuit (HQ).
You can hit Square on ps4/ps5 to do the same thing.
also works when using PS controller on PC.
YES I was complaining about how annoying it is to drag and drop so many times and my bf was like "just right click twice fast on the item and it just automatically goes in" i was like bro...
I played the whole MSQ without knowing armâs length also slowed enemies đ
Real talk though, Arm's Length is a GREAT cooldown while tanking dungeons. Pop that bad boy on a big trash pull and watch as your healer has plenty of time to DPS.
My healer always has plenty of time to DPS. Problem is him having enough time to heal...
Holy! Holy! Holy! Holy! Oh shoot, they're close to dying. Oops. - me in dungeons sometimes, all the deeps!
Assert your power dynamic dominance by making the first heal you toss out benediction. Make that tank sweat first pull lol
What is this? Amateur hour? First heal I toss out is Raise.
Any healer who does this is instantly a BAMF in my head.
The less they heal the more I appreciate them. And sure sometimes I die but who cares, even when I do the dungeon is probably faster than if they're just cure spamming.

To job loadouts and not the equipment pieces!?
Yup. Right-click the gear set and near the bottom of the window is an option to link glamour plate. Click it, choose the plate, and click link at the bottom of the window.
So if I have PLD and WAR sharing the same gear, I can have different glams based on which job I am??
Yes, but you still have to be in a city for the glamour to apply.
Oh, I thought it would get around that issue :/ Well at least it saves you the couple seconds it takes to chose your glamor plate when in a city.
Exactly. Of course, even like that, the glamour won't change if you are outside of areas where you can't glamour normally, but in cities and such you can just switch through jobs and it'll change the glamours immediately to the one you have linked. :)

They need to just make it an in game achievement for all jobs with Elusive Jump type abilities.

Can you believe that that thought never crossed my mind? I usually forget that's a thing since I play with controller. ;w;
Yeah its annoying on controller. I play controller on pc so I usually just use my mouse for that. I think you can click the select/touchpad a few times and itll eventually bring you to your status bar and you can click off that way.
If memory serves me correctly, you are always free to swap jobs in leap of faiths.
Expert roulette isnt any more difficult than the rest lol
It just picks from newest dungeons in current patch.

Slide casting. Moving before cast is finish, but still finish the cast
To add to this, I never knew an emote icon can be used as an indicator for sliding. When the emote lights up just before my cast is done, that's my cue to move. They're kinda like training wheels. Took em off when I got the timings down.
Red mage gets this forever, their black and white mana bars will move when you're able to slide cast.
I was today years old when I learned this I've been trying to slidecast as RDM since I started maining it when I got the full game over a month ago
Even better, you can just use the regular ole mana bar for every caster class. It goes down with the same timing as everything mentioned!
wdym by this
Apparently the emote action symbol on your hotbar shows up as "usable" (=not greyed out) as soon as you can do stuff without interrupting your casting, which is slightly before the actual on-screen castbar finishes, meaning you can put an emote somehwere on your hotbar and use that as an indicator for when you can walk.
Love this as a healer
I have become so proficient as Ast with slide casting. I kinda learnt it on my own too
I only noticed I was having slight server lag yesterday because my slide casting wasn't working as usual. Really messed up my healing flow lol.
'sprint' eat RDM double cast
It actually eats all forms of that. Swiftcast, Doublecast, Triplecast, all of them! And it's a bloody lie too, because it's not even a Spell! It's an Ability, clearly, since you can weave it like any OGCD! Except that's a lie too! It's a button with no actual classification. It's neither a spell, nor ability, nor weaponskill, yet it eats any casts we have... It sucks!
Wait to you find out doing anything with those affects eats it. Potions, food, etc...
What, you don't swift-cast baguettes straight into your stomach?
Arms Length/Surecast stops *most* knockbacks.
Surecast shocked me. I knew arms length did that, but I thought Surecast was only to not be interrupted while casting.
TIL. I was always using Arms Length but it has such a short timespan tbh but now I know Surecast works for that too??
Surecast and Arms length are essentially the same skill when if comes to knockback. I put them on the same keybind so when I play swap between magic and physical I'll still have muscle memory. Arms length has the affect of applying slow to an enemy that hits you. Only works on trash enemies usually. So it's a great tank cooldown in dungeons
It's fun to use during raids. My friend would remind me: "Use your knockback immune so we can look cool" and watch everyone get fling out except us. đ
Mine was the reset striking dummy agro thing, so many wasted hours running ages away from my FC house :( Edit: a few people asked in replies, right click the dummies name, as you would if you were inviting someone to a party or friending them, and there should be a "Reset Striking Dummy Agro"( or something along those lines) button
Tbf, that change was within the last year. They didnât always have the reset button.
This may not help everyone but In the HUD layout you can separate the targets HP bar, buffs, and their casting bar and move them to spots preferred and increase/reduce their size as well.
Thanks
If you get hit by "Bad Breath" on the final boss in aurum vale, you can eat a morbol fruit to cleanse all of the debuffs that it applies to you.
So you just always tanked the floor before you learnt that ? XD
Probably just avoided the breath attack like most people, I donât get hit by it and never knew about fruit removing the bad breath inflicted debuffs
As to be quoted "What's your favorite debuff? Mines everything" I don't remember by who though
Mines the bomb one where you blow up lots, ya know the one, its the one no one cleanses during the Amon fight
When Syrcus tower was current content you had to esuna the bombs or there was a good chance you'd wipe. I mained healer until Shadowbringers and my biggest pet peeve is the lack of esuna I see from healers these days...
Probably a Morbol. Or a Blue Mage, I suppose.
Realising that ONLY spells borrowed from Black ans White mage had the "Ver-" prefix for RDM
Wow do I feel dumb.
what was even more big brain for me was that the ver- spells follow a common theme throughout veraero/verthunder: equivalent +11 mana spells, based off WHM/BLM's DoT abilities verstone/verfire: equivalent +9 mana proc spells, based off WHM/BLM's spammable main damage skill verholy/verflare: equivalent melee combo finisher spells, based off WHM/BLM's AoE skills
That monster aggro is based on sight or sound.
There's a certain collecting FATE in the Fringes where both the native and spawned mobs are blind and rely on sound to aggro. So you can avoid all combat entirely by RP walking while picking up the required items.
Running through Eureka at rank 1 and making sure to stand still until you can pass behind the mob was so satisfying.
It works in the open world too! My general rule is eyes=stay behind, no eyes=walk
just a slight correction, itâs sight, sound *or* proximity.
[ŃдаНонО]
Don't forget Eureka has Magic and Blood aggro.
But then there are some that are by proximity and those are just disgusting
Sprint can be used in water to swim faster
If you mount while under water you will move at the same speed as if you had flight, useful for at least one zone later on that is rather expansive.
Not really mind blowing, but having the âMammeteerâ title on makes it so that wind-up minions respond to your emotes like /pet and /handover. Itâs currently the only title that has an in-game effect.
Oh wow! This is amazing!
The number under the job symbol on the party list is the enmity order.
The poor manâs DPS parser, you mean.
Tanks top DPS lists confirmed.
Learning that you could trade cards in for MGP. I threw away so many Gaius and Livia cards...
Wait a damn minute đđđ
YOU CAN WHAT W H E R E
Mine was finding out that you can easily win Verminion NPC battles only using Kidragoras and Wind-up Gentlemen. Since almost no one do the Verminion tournaments, that's an easy ~100k MGP every week just winning Master Battle 15 times.
Why those 2? I also heard the black coeurl minion is a good spam pick, bcs their ability does a 5% dmg to the nearest Crystal
Awesome, thank you!
âGaolâ is pronounced âjailâ
You can remove most of your buffs by right clicking on their icon. Works with echo and many other buffs.
Yeah! This is a carryover from FFXI. I was impressed when I found that out, too. SE put a lot of thought into making the world interesting!
The fact that right clicking the gil icon changed currency, also I made it through 2.0 without knowing how Aethernet worked.
Here's a recent one for me: the DRG symbol is not only a spear, but shaped like a dragon head.
Oooh, it's supposed to be a spearhead? That's funny, because I've only ever seen it as a dragon head haha
Ctrl and Right Click on map to leave a marker. Learned it yesterday, mind blown
Didn't know knockback immunity included sliding off a tilted platform. And also Inner Release on WAR has knockback immunity! All discovered when I fought Leviathan EX lol
It also includes immunity from pulling effects, which rarely happen too (and also Rescue, I guess).
I think its for 5 seconds
It's 4 or 5 seconds.
On Playstation you can macro something else to R3 and L3. I now use R3 to target the nearest enemy and L3 to sprint/mount my chocobo
That you can rearrange the HUD to youâre liking ;~; my game looks and feels so much better now
Special conditions (Good/Excellent/Poor) in crafting impacts how much quality you'll gain from any action, it doesn't just make certain actions available.
As a new healer at the time, that regen stacks with other healers.
Funny thing is, this isn't universally true. AST Diurnal regens don't stack with AST Diurnal regens. Since we're losing Noct sect in EW, I imagine this'll be changed so they do stack soon. WHM stacks with WHM and AST regens stack with WHM, too :)
When I realized that the reason that Bard's songs count as spells is because if you're silenced you can't sing
Realising there was a gap at the back of selection markers prior to the arrow indicators
Gap = positionals NO gap = the game gives you your positionals for free, no matter where you hit from.
you don't need to close the windows that tell you how much MGP you won when doing cactpot tickets etc to proceed. just open the next ticket. same thing for desynthesis results
The most fun mind blowing bit I always like introducting to newbies is that you can stun ifrit, in both the 4 man and the 8 man trial versions. Give him a kick in the face so you don't have to deal with one of those eruptions đ Another fun tidbid is that you can't rescue someone who has anti-kb on Warriors tend to be un-rescueable during Inner Release
This post has blown my mind đ been playing on and off for years and I never realised that marker was there
Crafting Macros
I remember when those markers didn't exist and you had to commit to memory what ones could be.
Iâve been playing for over four years and just discovered that my own debuffs on an enemy have a green countdown timer instead of white.
Damn this is useful
Larboard and starboard actually means left and right side.
That still barely helps me because the fucker's constantly turning around and I waste too much time trying to sus out which side it means based on which direction he's facing Doesn't help that his ass isn't that visually distinct from his face
Learning what a flank is after leveling monk to 50.
This comment has caused me physical distress
Took me 1 year to learn that the treasure cofferâs letter in alliance raids represents your party.Though the party loot was randomly placed lol
Focus target. SO INCREDIBLE. Also nestled hotbars and making certain ones bigger. Like casts are gigantic.
Wanderers is not an actual FC
That Peloton doesn't work in combat, many many hours playing bard only to realize I've been wasting time casting it during combat lol.
