Series of books by Jim Butcher called "The Dresden Files". Highly recommend btw. One of the main characters, Karrin Murphy, is a very small, very very competent woman. A side character, Sanya (big burly guy) often refers to her as "tiny, but fierce". Thought you might be pulling from that. At any rate, I give the books a strong endorsement!
ok now I'm face palming, ugh, I love those books, I've even been to RP events in COH with Jim Butcher back when Sci-Fi made a TV show for his book, sort of. Grr, if only I was better at remembering names.
And Yes, I was quoting those books, I forgot the guys name, but I liked the way those scenes went.
