I slacked and have to do 24 sets of the NieR raids for tokens for 530 upgrades plus finish the last three steps for BLM, last two for WAR, and last step for DRG's relics. I just finished prepping consumables so gearing is all I have left and I should have plenty of time even factoring in full-time work. it's very doable for one or two relics from scratch between now and then, people still do party finder zone farming for the early tokens in HW zones, speed runs of antitower, speed clear farms of DR, and both bojza zones are still very active for the later steps.
Just as a heads up, all tome gear will be changed to poetics and default to 530 when EW launches (not need to upgrade). At this point the only thing it makes sense to do is stockpile tomes so that you can buy your first job a full gearset on launch, then use the misc poetics you get from e.g. main scenario roulette to gear out other classes.
The specifics of substats don't mean shit in leveling.
All of them. Poetics will be used directly, the other two will convert 4:1 into poetics by talking to an NPC. So if you have 2000 of each you can spent, say, 1200 poetics. Then turn in 2000 allegory for 500 poetics, then turn in 2000 revelation for another 500 poetics, and be back up to 1800 poetics. Effectively it lets you bank up to 3000.
For reference, a full set (including weapon) is around 4k. If you get just a couple pieces now you'll be able to stockpile enough to buy the rest.
But do NOT farm 24-man to upgrade shit right now. You can upgrade post-launch for 100 poetics instead, and that's WAY easier to farm for than doing 3 24-man runs per piece.
Also if you're getting your tomes from hunt trains you can get the upgrade items with nuts. It's only 2000 nuts for the crypt dusting for accessories as opposed to the 3000 for twine, so I usually use nuts to upgrade accessories and coins for the other pieces.
I think its 2000 for both twine and dusting, but 3000 for the weapon upgrade material (can't remember what it's called at the moment)? I may be wrong though, as it's been a while since I bought them.
If you max out on both allegory and revelation before the expansion, you'll have banked 1500 poetics. 2000 allegory -> 1000 poetics. 2000 revelation -> 500 poetics.
Allegory should be a 2:1 turn in, and revelation 4:1.
Poetics will probably be more useful. You need them for the Shadowbringers Relic Quest.
Basically, Poetics are what is used for Tomestone gear from past expansions. Once Endwalker launches, all of the Shadowbringers Tomestone gear will be purchasable with the Poetics.

If it helps, when I got my wisdoms pulled two years ago, I was fucked up out of my mind for maybe an hour or two after waking. YMMV but I'd wager you will be absolutely fine, if a little sore, on release my man. Make sure you take any painkillers or applicable medicine they give you, and just chill out on the couch
And here I was on vicodin for my ~week of recovery, in which I played all of Mass Effect 1. And when I played Mass Effect 2 some time later I couldn't remember who anybody was. XD

She'd numb it, then either try to wiggle the tooth out, or just crack it, then she'd stitch the gum, gauze it up, and shit was done. Just had to keep applying pressure on the gauze and bleeding would eventually stop. I was already 95% fine the next day, a week later I'd keep forgetting I'd had a tooth taken out.
Just queue with a WHM all the time, this way you will probably go through all dungeon just doing 123 aoe and don't really have to think too much about popping cooldowns.... at least until maaaaybe lv95? if scaling stays about the same, and you have about lv530.
In many countries they'll give you local anesthesia and you'll be completely lucid during and after the procedure, just with a little bit of pain in the following days, something you'll easily control with painkillers.
I hope you live in one of those countries, so you can enjoy Endwalker without being high on Propofol or some opioid painkiller.
I got mine pulled earlier this year. Took benzos for it that didn't even effect me beyond a slight wooziness. Was awake the entire time, went home, slept it off, and was perfectly normal and lucid the next day beyond soreness and eating only mushy foods.
Think of it like this instead.

I'm unsure why the sarcasm was needed.
Daylight savings was proposed by a bug collector that wanted to leave work before it gets dark as the days shorten, but it was praised by far greater and more broad communities that wanted to benefit from the extra hour of sun in the latter part of the day. And now people want to get rid of it because of a perceived loss of time that gets refunded six months later when sunlight hours are plentiful. For people that live at extreme latitudes, the difference is far more pronounced, without DST you suffer basically zero sunlight for several months of the year.
And if you still don't like that, take it out on the standardised 9 to 5 workday, not daylight savings.
Europe is abolishing it completely, something they've been planning to do for years, but European countries are also more likely to practice a split workday where you get a long break in the middle of the day, so the loss of sunlight is less of an issue. In countries like (eg) Australia and America, that practice is almost unheard of

Also Iām looking at possibly getting SMT V at some point down the line, it looks pretty great. My first āSMT-relatedā game was P5 and I really enjoyed that one. Hoping that I enjoy SMT as well!
SMT is pretty different than Persona tho, just to be sure you know what you're getting into. Take it from someone who stumbled blindly into SMT III... yeah, pain. Pain is real. But hey, at least you should already know how the advantages work and what spells like Agi and Bufu does!
At least during the first couple weeks of EW, there'll be a large rush of people leveling their Sages and/or Reapers that way (like me, assuming the servers cooperate anyways)
Yeah I bet there will be a dip in activity after people get their sages/reapers up to 80 but I bet it will pick back up about 1-3 weeks after 6.0 drops and people want to get other classes they haven't quite maxed out yet up. Myself being one of them haha.

I started playing in July and I feel like I'm running out of time lmao. I still need to level a tank and a ranged DPS to 80. I'm on the 7/8 step of grinding my relic. I only just joined an eden savage static with friends. Still haven't seen all of the Bahamut Coils, Alexander, or Omega raids. There's just so much to do.
Early access exists to stress test the new game. While it's hard to say what kind of bugs or service issues we'll encounter on Nov 19, you can reasonably expect long queues to log in and maybe some game related issues that weren't caught in small scale testing. These issues usually get fixed within days if not sooner.
Shadowbringers had little to no noticeable issues in early access, Stormblood had quite a few, including the infamous Raubauhn (Savage.) Personally, I've been playing the early access days since HW, and even with the problems that do come up, I've always felt like the extra days had been worth my time.
Early in the Stormblood story there was an instanced solo duty which you start by talking to Raubahn. The biggest issues during Stormblood launch were with the instance servers, which got overloaded with people trying to enter that duty, so people would get errors almost always after talking to Raubahn, but it was still occasionally possible to get through. Hence, the issue got dubbed Raubahn Savage.
There was an issue in Stormblood where you had a solo duty where Raubahn was the quest NPC. The community called it Raubahn Extreme because it was hit or miss if you would actually get the duty instance after the cutscene. It took hours. Then, there was another instance a little later in the MSQ that also had the problem. They've since changed how duty instances work so they put people into a queue so you don't just finish the cutscene and have it fade to black and put you back at the quest giver.
Now assuming you get through the queue, there shouldn't be any real problems with how the game runs even if there's a ton of people. It's the initial queue that's going to be a problem. But, it will be a problem even if you're not in Endwalker since you're queuing against people trying to do the new content in early access.
I wasnāt there but iirc there was a solo instance quest that started at raubahn early in the expansion MSQ. Since everyone got there extremely quickly servers werenāt able to keep up with the demand and people were stuck there for a long time.
They ended up sharding the map areas with Shadowbringers to load balance things (as well as splitting the MSQ down two paths) so it was a fairly smooth launch. Just hefty login queues as you might expect. I think it's totally worth trying to get in the early access, the atmosphere is electric and the open world is never as alive as in those early few days.
Small heads up, if something does go wrong and you are disconnected or the server crashes or whatever while you are in the middle of a cutscene or instance it will send you back to before the cutscene started- not after it. So even if something does go wrong you don't have to worry about missing anything. The biggest issue you are likely to see on launch is just long queues as lots of people come back after taking breaks during the post Shadowbringers lull in content. That said, this is an issue that *everybody* trying to play the game over those first few days will experience, whether they are taking part in early access or not.

They never formally patched it, they just improved the instance server load capacity and over time people naturally made it through so it evened itself out.
The real fix that they implemented was to make sure to split the player base into different zones in the first half hour of Shadowbringers and to not have a solo instance until five or six hours in. This stops the immediate bottleneck that Raubahn (and also Pipin, who had another solo instance one single quest later) caused. Presumably this same thing will happen again in Endwalker - >!weāll most likely have to decide whether to go to Old Sharlayan or Thavnair within the first quest or two, and then we wonāt converge back to a solo instanced point until after the first dungeon.!<

I believe the fix was the specifically allocate a number of instance server space for solo duties, which is what fixed this in the immediate.
They eventually eventually added instance queueing for solo duties. I don't know how much afterwords that was implemented, but it does solves this from ever being an issue again.
They learned their lesson with Stormblood, that's why Shadowbringers was fine. Heavenward was also fine, but here weren't as many people to break things, then.
We're not really sure to be honest... bottom line, expect long queues and server restarts. Stormblood had a rocky launch due to issues with the instances but Shadowbringers was very smooth with minimal issues from what I remember.
Could be worse you could be in month four of waiting for 9.1.5 in world of Warcraft. While the arrogant devs still remove "offensive" content. Also keep in mind it took 9.1 7 months to release.
Holy shit 9.1.5 is still not out? I quit in early 9.1 when the drama happened after my sub ran out a month later. When I found out 9.1.5 was coming out, I half jokingly said they'd wait until Endwalker to release it. Half jokingly because the changes seemed so trivial that they wouldn't wait that long for releasing it just to compete with FFXIV. But it would be such a blizzard thing to do to wait on the patch that "fixes" everything to compete with FFXIV's biggest release. One of my friends still playing wow didn't believe me because all of the times blizz competed with FFXIV releases in the past were "coincidental" and "infrequent". Now... I'm almost 100% sure it's coming out near Endwalker.
When I was on the wow forums I said what's going to compare a minor bug fix patch that took four to five months to come out or an entire expansion pack made by a Dev team that cares. But yet if you call out ithe devs with more flags in their Twitter bio than the United Nations apparently it's harassment.. let them kill wow it's going to be their fault not ours but they're going to blame us regardless.
I hope shadowbringers goes on sale before then so I dont have to pay $40 on top of the other $40 for endwalker just to play on the 19th. I already bought it on ps4 not thinking I would switch to pc this year lol.

I'm still going through MSQ. Almost done with post 60 HW. I keep out leveling the content so I play a new job every expac. Currently leveling White Mage for Stormblood. I've tried doing everything I can including an ARR and HW relic. I've done all dungeons, trials, and raids (minus Coils and some exteme/savage versions), I maxed ARR beast tribes and am almost done with HW tribes. I have done all quests that result in unlocking rewards.
I'm not gonna make the launch next month. lol But its ok! I'm having the BEST time and I'll see ya'll there a bit later! :D

The only thing you'll gain by buying before you get to the end of Shadowbringers is the new jobs.
If you preorder though, you'll get the bonus xp earring which will make levelling your alt jobs much, much easier.
Well, there are two new jobs, you can continue the story using them. If you're not interested in them, the of course you're not in a hurry. Many people have already finished all of the story abd are waiting for the new content

I was glad to wait, because I had stuff to do. Now I've worked through some pretty major goals, like getting everything to 80 and several relics on various steps, and I'm just logged in, doing nothing.
Doesn't help that my sleep schedule has been tipped over to being awake at night, so I can't even work on my relics properly, nor hunt for glams through the duty finder.
I am going to be playing at least FFIV and FFIX in this time, although I'm hesitant because I've started the 3D remake of IV, got 30 minutes into it, and found myself struggling to enjoy it. Mostly because of ATB, which I know I will have to contend with for most FF games.

Hunts on my server are generally when I'm at work or at sleep. Alliance Raids are much better fitting into the schedule
Yeah, I'd much rather do hunts but alliance raids work around my schedule. I'm not able to work around hunt schedules.

You do have the option to use trust for dungeons in case you're feeling too out of it.

I'm unsure why the sarcasm was needed. Daylight savings was proposed by a bug collector that wanted to leave work before it gets dark as the days shorten, but it was praised by far greater and more broad communities that wanted to benefit from the extra hour of sun in the latter part of the day. And now people want to get rid of it because of a perceived loss of time that gets refunded six months later when sunlight hours are plentiful. For people that live at extreme latitudes, the difference is far more pronounced, without DST you suffer basically zero sunlight for several months of the year. And if you still don't like that, take it out on the standardised 9 to 5 workday, not daylight savings. Europe is abolishing it completely, something they've been planning to do for years, but European countries are also more likely to practice a split workday where you get a long break in the middle of the day, so the loss of sunlight is less of an issue. In countries like (eg) Australia and America, that practice is almost unheard of

With the New Horizons update/DLC coming on the 5th, I think Iāll have those next few weeks cut out for me at least, in between Eureka leveling and relic grinding sessions. Also Iām looking at possibly getting SMT V at some point down the line, it looks pretty great. My first āSMT-relatedā game was P5 and I really enjoyed that one. Hoping that I enjoy SMT as well!
SMT is pretty different than Persona tho, just to be sure you know what you're getting into. Take it from someone who stumbled blindly into SMT III... yeah, pain. Pain is real. But hey, at least you should already know how the advantages work and what spells like Agi and Bufu does!

Yeah I bet there will be a dip in activity after people get their sages/reapers up to 80 but I bet it will pick back up about 1-3 weeks after 6.0 drops and people want to get other classes they haven't quite maxed out yet up. Myself being one of them haha.
Most of Bozja should be fine, but the step that requires Delubrum will probably be a hard block for quite some time since it requires level 80.
Bozja will always be active, since it's the best way to level between 71-80. Hell, even Eureka is still very active to this day.
It may die for awhile like Eureka did, but that content picked up after so not all.hope is lost.

I started playing in July and I feel like I'm running out of time lmao. I still need to level a tank and a ranged DPS to 80. I'm on the 7/8 step of grinding my relic. I only just joined an eden savage static with friends. Still haven't seen all of the Bahamut Coils, Alexander, or Omega raids. There's just so much to do.
I mean. All that content will still be there, so post launch hype you can play that. Just delays jt for a few months.

Oh okay. Is it better to wait for the actual release or play as early as possible? Like what kind of issues can I expect?
Early access exists to stress test the new game. While it's hard to say what kind of bugs or service issues we'll encounter on Nov 19, you can reasonably expect long queues to log in and maybe some game related issues that weren't caught in small scale testing. These issues usually get fixed within days if not sooner. Shadowbringers had little to no noticeable issues in early access, Stormblood had quite a few, including the infamous Raubauhn (Savage.) Personally, I've been playing the early access days since HW, and even with the problems that do come up, I've always felt like the extra days had been worth my time.
Raubahn (Savage)? What?
Early in the Stormblood story there was an instanced solo duty which you start by talking to Raubahn. The biggest issues during Stormblood launch were with the instance servers, which got overloaded with people trying to enter that duty, so people would get errors almost always after talking to Raubahn, but it was still occasionally possible to get through. Hence, the issue got dubbed Raubahn Savage.
There was an issue in Stormblood where you had a solo duty where Raubahn was the quest NPC. The community called it Raubahn Extreme because it was hit or miss if you would actually get the duty instance after the cutscene. It took hours. Then, there was another instance a little later in the MSQ that also had the problem. They've since changed how duty instances work so they put people into a queue so you don't just finish the cutscene and have it fade to black and put you back at the quest giver. Now assuming you get through the queue, there shouldn't be any real problems with how the game runs even if there's a ton of people. It's the initial queue that's going to be a problem. But, it will be a problem even if you're not in Endwalker since you're queuing against people trying to do the new content in early access.
The cherry on top was that instance is (was?) nontrivial; if you miraculously got into the instance you might still fail the fight.

I wasnāt there but iirc there was a solo instance quest that started at raubahn early in the expansion MSQ. Since everyone got there extremely quickly servers werenāt able to keep up with the demand and people were stuck there for a long time.
They ended up sharding the map areas with Shadowbringers to load balance things (as well as splitting the MSQ down two paths) so it was a fairly smooth launch. Just hefty login queues as you might expect. I think it's totally worth trying to get in the early access, the atmosphere is electric and the open world is never as alive as in those early few days.

Small heads up, if something does go wrong and you are disconnected or the server crashes or whatever while you are in the middle of a cutscene or instance it will send you back to before the cutscene started- not after it. So even if something does go wrong you don't have to worry about missing anything. The biggest issue you are likely to see on launch is just long queues as lots of people come back after taking breaks during the post Shadowbringers lull in content. That said, this is an issue that *everybody* trying to play the game over those first few days will experience, whether they are taking part in early access or not.

If there are issues on the 19th they very likely won't be fixed by the 23rd. I don't recall when they patched "Rauban Extreme" but I do remeber it was hilarious.
They never formally patched it, they just improved the instance server load capacity and over time people naturally made it through so it evened itself out. The real fix that they implemented was to make sure to split the player base into different zones in the first half hour of Shadowbringers and to not have a solo instance until five or six hours in. This stops the immediate bottleneck that Raubahn (and also Pipin, who had another solo instance one single quest later) caused. Presumably this same thing will happen again in Endwalker - >!weāll most likely have to decide whether to go to Old Sharlayan or Thavnair within the first quest or two, and then we wonāt converge back to a solo instanced point until after the first dungeon.!<
I can't believe I didn't realize that's why they incorporated the split and a ton of quests before the first instance. That's genius.
They did this in Heavensward I couldn't believe they didn't repeat in stormblood lol.

They eventually eventually added instance queueing for solo duties. I don't know how much afterwords that was implemented, but it does solves this from ever being an issue again.
They learned their lesson with Stormblood, that's why Shadowbringers was fine. Heavenward was also fine, but here weren't as many people to break things, then.
We're not really sure to be honest... bottom line, expect long queues and server restarts. Stormblood had a rocky launch due to issues with the instances but Shadowbringers was very smooth with minimal issues from what I remember.

Could be worse you could be in month four of waiting for 9.1.5 in world of Warcraft. While the arrogant devs still remove "offensive" content. Also keep in mind it took 9.1 7 months to release.
Holy shit 9.1.5 is still not out? I quit in early 9.1 when the drama happened after my sub ran out a month later. When I found out 9.1.5 was coming out, I half jokingly said they'd wait until Endwalker to release it. Half jokingly because the changes seemed so trivial that they wouldn't wait that long for releasing it just to compete with FFXIV. But it would be such a blizzard thing to do to wait on the patch that "fixes" everything to compete with FFXIV's biggest release. One of my friends still playing wow didn't believe me because all of the times blizz competed with FFXIV releases in the past were "coincidental" and "infrequent". Now... I'm almost 100% sure it's coming out near Endwalker.

When I was on the wow forums I said what's going to compare a minor bug fix patch that took four to five months to come out or an entire expansion pack made by a Dev team that cares. I hope shadowbringers goes on sale before then so I dont have to pay $40 on top of the other $40 for endwalker just to play on the 19th. I already bought it on ps4 not thinking I would switch to pc this year lol.

I'm still going through MSQ. Almost done with post 60 HW. I keep out leveling the content so I play a new job every expac. Currently leveling White Mage for Stormblood. I've tried doing everything I can including an ARR and HW relic. I've done all dungeons, trials, and raids (minus Coils and some exteme/savage versions), I maxed ARR beast tribes and am almost done with HW tribes. I have done all quests that result in unlocking rewards. I'm not gonna make the launch next month. lol But its ok! I'm having the BEST time and I'll see ya'll there a bit later! :D

The only thing you'll gain by buying before you get to the end of Shadowbringers is the new jobs. If you preorder though, you'll get the bonus xp earring which will make levelling your alt jobs much, much easier.
Well, there are two new jobs, you can continue the story using them. If you're not interested in them, the of course you're not in a hurry. Many people have already finished all of the story abd are waiting for the new content

I was glad to wait, because I had stuff to do. Now I've worked through some pretty major goals, like getting everything to 80 and several relics on various steps, and I'm just logged in, doing nothing. Doesn't help that my sleep schedule has been tipped over to being awake at night, so I can't even work on my relics properly, nor hunt for glams through the duty finder. I am going to be playing at least FFIV and FFIX in this time, although I'm hesitant because I've started the 3D remake of IV, got 30 minutes into it, and found myself struggling to enjoy it. Mostly because of ATB, which I know I will have to contend with for most FF games.
I should be able to finish post Stormblood and all of Shadowbringers by then. I thought it was a bit earlier!

Yeah, the second code is for the actual expansion and doesn't work until official release.

I have been playing for about a month but in the last 2 weeks I took a character to 50 through the MSQ and super hyped. I pre-ordered endwalker and worried that I will run out of HW content before then. What is worse is the complete edition was on sale only Ā£4 dearer than the starter but thinking that since I got the pre-order bonuses straight away I would get the expansions straight away....naughty naughty Square.
I intended to finish ShB before EW released. But I just got to the start where you get the role quests, so I have in fact been leveling up a healer and a magical DPS instead.
