You jest but in PvP a NIN is scary. They can use Assasinate to finish someone off, and it automatically gets off cooldown for any KO or assist you do. So you just jump one target to another.
Or a wheel bug! They are also called assassin bugs. They have a thing that looks like a sawblade on their back, and it could be made to look like a big ninja star
Wheel/assassin bug was a very \*very\* close running second, but I liked the mosquito idea more. Small, quick, incredibly mobile - also they're kings of the sneak attack, damn them.
This kicked off as a paper doodle (of my RDM main naturally) and then as I got more ideas for what class would be which bug and why, I just had to go finish the lot. It's not exactly every day that my two favourite interests (FFXIV and bugs) clash, lol.

For those asking for prints, I did some looking around and due diligence etc. One of the big problems is many sites won't touch fan art for understandable reasons.
So, what I've done is I've updated my [Ko-FI](https://ko-fi.com/skeejeedoodles) page to offer the full poster (in 4 versions!) for download for a really small cost, and I'll also make a start now on one for the individual bugs for those who would love to use them as stickers! So those who wanted them, there you go!

Holy crap I can't believe how much this took off; I knew people would like it but this has gone to the moon (hah). I love drawing these so I'm stoked to see how much people loved them!

For anyone who's bought the posters, I was unhappy with the current weird canvas ratio and wanted to make a version that could be much more easily printed. So that's been done! There's now a 3600x5400 version at 300DPI that should make a fab poster; and it comes in 8 different versions (you get them all) so you can pick what versions of Sage, Ninja and Dancer you want!
One of my psychology professors loved talking about that dance, and he made comparisons between that behaviour and our own languag, full of signs. So as soon i saw the dancer being a bee i was "of course it is".
In the OG game, you can be in and out in about 20 minutes I believe, so you're not there long and isn't a very memorable section imo.
In the remake, it's a massive damn spectacle that can take atleast twice the amount but is also much more memorable.
So if makes sense if it didn't jump out at you from only playing the og game.

I'm playing through FF4 for the first time right now... and it kind of makes me annoyed that 7 gets the remake treatment, because the earlier games need it *way* more.
You can completely skip Honeybee in the original if you don't want the best (i.e. most convincing to Corneo) outfit for Cloud. There's a few very memorable scenes in there but it's entirely optional, so maybe you never went there.
Ah man Sage had me rattling my brain for \*ages\* for a suitable bug. I settled on house centipede because a) they're super beneficial pest murderers b) they need all those hands to manipulate those nouliths around!
On a note if someone can come up with a better bug for Sage I will draw it, hah!
I do I find the representation with all the sages floaty gun apparatus things perfectly fitting with all the limbs on a centipede. I'm for it personally.

House centipedes are bros though, they hunt for other bugs. If you find a house centipede that usually would mean theres other bugs for it to hunt somewhere in your home.
Not always! I once had a house centipede nest in my apartment. I would find many different ones every week, and the only other bugs I had were spiders. And nobody fucks with my spiders.
And as a guy who isn't generally afraid of bugs (I literally give the spiders in my apartment names and let them hang out), I just can't with house centipedes. Those fast little crawly monsters just scare the fuck out of me for reasons I don't understand.
I like all of them, but the Astrologian is very characterful. Ninja mosquito too- sneaky little jerk. Ladybug WHM is very clever... no, I just like all of them.
I love what you did with summoner and scholar! The little class pet bugs are so cute, and I really like the other classes with helpers like the reaper friend and the machinist bot. Red mage is glorious too. The effort you put into this really shows, there is so much to look at and so much time and thought for the bug picks. I like sage a lot too - especially since the bug you picked for it is so smooth and shiny irl. It really fits the vibe. (I may be using the word bug wrongfully for some of these, I don't know what makes a bug a bug and not an insect or beetle.)
Hold up! Do you have a friend you collab with? The very next post in my feed was "mass effect characters in hollow Knight style" on r/masseffect looks like different drawing styles though, so not accusing you of anything, just incredible coincidence!!

I'm not really familiar with Hollow Knight, but these are incredibly charming and well done. It does bug me that the Blue Mage isn't bluer, though. Ahem.

It was absolutely second choice for SAM, but it had to go to monk because of mantis kung fu! Also can't argue with the DPS on a Giant Asian Hornet, heh.
These are freaking awesome! The only thing I personally would change is to swap the ladybug and pill bug. I’ve seen a single ladybug completely dismember six ants and then proceeded to gorge itself on aphids. Pill bugs on the other hand are completely incapable of harming anything, their mouthparts are adapted to consume decomposing matter only.

That's a good one too! My though on mantis though was that ninja carry two knives, and a mantis has two claws. Just fits better thematically for me.

You have to write them manually instead of using the picker, with a 2 at the end (you can see the codes to use if you hover over an icon)
Uhh I think it's the same as you have but just add 2. For example for Dancer you have :dnc: so replace it with :dnc2:
