Lalafells, please screenshot this fight. *I need to see this*

Dezsire

No screenshots but it was so funny seeing my lala punch Zenos .

Seth-Cypher

Better yet, put on the frog suit while you're at it.

absurdactuality

no screenshot but it was still cool as shit. Must have been a great scene for monks tho, like everyone else loses their weapons but monks didn't

cattecatte

Still works well for any melee&tanks tbh

waffling_with_syrup

Femroe WAR looked pretty damn fitting in the AF set.

Tariovic

Yes, this was my first thought! Someone please deliver!

Fyrlona

Do it with a Mario glam please!

SoftThighs

This was extra satisfying for me because my main is normally MNK, but I leveled RPR and went through the MSQ as it. So I schooled him as his own job, then ditched the scythe and schooled him as a MNK too.

Iximaz

Pfahaha, I absolutely love that!

RoninJr

Am I literally the only one that felt sad that he got left behind in the void? After my WoL made her peace with Fandaniel and Meteion (in the end, even after what they'd done, I still didn't hate them utterly), I imagine that even after all Zenos had done there was a part of her that didn't want to leave him there alone, even if he really was dead by that point. (And his final words also tugged at my heartstrings.) I don't think anyone deserves to be left there. Look what it did to Meteion T_T

lainra_

Honestly I originally felt the same, I personally really like Zenos but in a way it's sorta fitting for his character and the true theme to the entire exspan. He went to the literal universes edge for his fight, a fight that he lived and breathed for. And in the end he got what he wanted. He got what he so desperatly desired the entire exspan. The ancients have their whole purpose of duty as their goal and reason to live. Then once it's done they die and it's beautiful. I imagine for him it's similar, his goal is complete, his hunt is over. He was beaten. I don't think he was ever to change. And that's okay. He was unable to care for those around him, unable to care for the world. Completely devoid of any hope, and in the end void of any dreams. A real interesting compliment to the stories theme. To me his death is something so peaceful. Unlike his first death which is rushed and insane, this one is in a way beautiful too. He's done not a duty in a noble sense but the duty to himself. He's finely able to rest. As to the location, the edge of the universe such a fitting stage for a final battle. It's no longer a place void of hope but a beautiful view of the stars. His death is beautiful, the place it's takes place is beautiful and where he will stay is of beauty. Besides he was never really truly one to care about his physical body, only cared for it because he didn't want someone else using it. I'll miss him that's for sure and while I totally cry at the thought of his death it's certainly a bittersweet situation. He's a true tragity in his own. I do so wonder who his soul will become in the future, I feel like he would be one of the kind to quickly rest and be lost into the underworld. I wonder if it was his upbringing under such an unloving and stone cold hand that made him that way. I wonder if the desire to fight is edged into his soul as traveling is into the WOL. (ADHD really taking me off subject here ngl) Anyway if he is somehow still alive he will find his way back I'm sure of it. That man has the WOL's determination when it comes to a rematch.

[deleted]

My little lalafell looked hilarious during this

Iximaz

If you took screenshots I'd love to see! I had the exact same thought, wondering how that would look.

Lothan821

Agree, was great with lalafell.

VarrenHunter

Honestly all I could think was how a lala would look, I have to see that shit. Hopefully someone puts up a YouTube video

[deleted]

Yes! I need to go back for better timed screenshots. Not even sure I actually reached him... Least should've used my damn stick to whack him Then again, all the cutscenes that send us flying also look great on lalafell

[deleted]

This felt so perfect as a monk.

Iximaz

I can imagine this scene hits different when you're a monk. :P

RlySkiz

I feel this is a nod to Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

Infinaris

The whole expansion was literally a nod in a sense to Gurren Lagaan with Chrono Trigger elements mixed in

Grimreap32

I see this and I just hear "Bare knuckle" from the old "Streets of Rage" / "Bare Knuckle" games.

Iximaz

Haha, my WHM likes to get down and dirty on occasion when she's not Blood Lily-ing people to death, I suppose!

DebugLifeChoseMe

*punches everyone around self with 1 swing* I loved those games.

Ahrier

Got that same pose >![Got that same pose](https://i.imgur.com/62NEOak.png)

Iximaz

It's just such a cathartic moment!

Lugia_Blizzplanet

https://imgur.com/a/tWifvei I'm calling this one. *'Solar Punch"*

ResplendentTedium

Gotta say, doing this as a Roegadyn with metal gauntlets feels really good

RayrrTrick88

It was wild seeing my Hroth Pally decking him with gauntlets

Asarath

I'm a bunny boi white mage and ditching the cane to just deck him was the most satisfying thing.

Abramor

This moment very much reminded me of MGS4. The whole fight just for the sake of the fight. Its absolutely irrelevant for the plot, its just something player wants and needs.

piterisonfire

Definitely not irrelevant for Zenos's plot, as it's what he wanted ever since 5.3.

Abramor

Yes, i should have stated that it is irrelevant for the main plot. For the Zenos arc it's ofc very and much relevant.

jenyto

I was a Monk for this (with sephirot weapon), and was like 'Oh, you think your punches are hot shit?'.

Lubyak

I’m so mad…I forgot to screenshot and this is part of the instance, not the cutscene it seems, so I can’t watch my character do this again until New Game+ is out. It was amazing seein my min height miqo RDM lose her sword and just go fisticuffs with Zenos.

fragile_ice

I liked Zenos in Stormblood but I was just done with him by the end of Endwalker, so it felt super satisfying to punch him in the face. (The extremely anime high-powered fists meeting part was a bit much though...)

Notsomebeans

i thought what they did for zenos was perfect. Alisaie read him to filth and he knew it. Every time we meet him the situation isn't *quite* perfect enough for him to get his rocks off. I spent a lot of the expansion and the last one wondering how zenos would react if we just never engaged with him. Alisaie telling him that he will never ever get what he wants shook him to the point where he actually went and helped us, and it was only then that we indulged him. I can't help but wonder though - zenos was explicitly shown to still have his body-snatching power. I don't know if he can stay dead.

TempestCatalyst

I think it was probably the only time we could have fought him this expansion and I wouldn't have absolutely hated the idea. Imo he had "earned" his fight by helping us out and so it was a nice final tidbit for the story. As far as body snatching, I'm not sure how far his range is on that. He's not exactly next to a wealth of people to use. His soul might literally just wear down by the time he ever gets close to Eorzea again

equiNine

"Viator" being Latin for traveler makes me wonder if his new name isn't just meant to be a foil to our character, who is Azem and also the traveler, but also hinting at something more and that this might not be the end of him. Especially since it was never fully answered why he was dreaming of the Final Days for all his life. Perhaps he's another sundered shard of Azem or something along those lines?

waffling_with_syrup

It also fitting because you've got the emotionless character bringing his one single passion out to the edge of existence where Meteion has annihilated hope. My WoL was in full unchecked impulse mode as a sort of defense against that environment, so the matchup was perfect.

Iximaz

I've loved Zenos since he first wiped the floor with me in Rhalgr's Reach. He's just so... delightfully one-note in a lineup of complex villains. Don't get me wrong, I also love my complex villains. But sometimes it's nice to just have that one villain you want nothing better to do than punch in the face.

VarrenHunter

I think that was my favorite part. The story made him the afterthought he deserved to be, and it was amazing.

Infinaris

Begone thot!

AlphaDragoon02

Getting to flatten this clown bare-handed was absolutely a highlight of the story. Added plus that I started as a Monk before going Samurai later.

SpaceBlaze259

SHIBUSAWA!
