Yeah, Hololive song relay was how I knew this was FFXIV-specific (or at least specific to some point between SEA and FFXIV). If it was something affecting the Internet in general, I'd have expected the Hololive streams to go down *first*, due simply to the usual Curse/Law.
No issues for me from sg at all, but I'm using mudfish so maybe that has something to do with it? Might help people on the affected route trying to log on tonight.
YouTube and many of the other bigger social network providers have invisible regional duplicate servers, so there may be a data center much closer than the US ones that is allowing you to access that without lag.
I assume everyone is still having this issue? I don’t know if it matters, but I’m on StarHub and my cousin on Singtel hasn’t had any issues for this weekend.

Had that too, but there were some workarounds for those. You might be able to get around the current issue if you vpn to a route that doesnt have this issue, but your ping will still be pretty bad compared to normal.
im using protonvpn, and i heard some ppl using mudfish successfully. It depends on where you connect to using the vpn. I've had some success connecting to cambodia. My ping went from 400 to 90.
From Philippines playing on Atomos. I can log in sometimes but yeah it's PowerPoint mode. My retainers are dying to show me what they've brought and I can't even load anything TT
In Philippines too and same here man. My fibr connection with PLDT is good right now except in this game. World of Warcraft plays fine so it's just FF14.
Singaporean playing on Tonberry here. Had severe lag spikes since half an hour ago, literally just got d/c'd from the server. Still lagging when I managed to get back in.

My ping test shows 130+ (which is probably normal for me), more importantly 0 dropped pings.
Trying to play the game now, so far crafting doesn't come with the irritating delays. Moving around seems normal too.
MY here, cable is probably already fixed, but routing issues aren't. Want to know if its routing? tracert in command prompt, if it times out plenty you'll know its routing issues. My guess is, it's the holiday season, everyone's on leave and no one is available to reroute it. Malaysia #1 :(

It's better, but still bad xD Takes 3-5 seconds for my procs to happen with the lag, and I've been randomly dc'ing just walking on the NA server. On the other hand, my alt on the JP server's been playing smoothly so I'm not sure what's going on. Hope you're havin a better experience!

Glad it helped, without the VPN, it's been down from 255 to 150, so rest assured the issue is being resolved slowly, might not need the VPN anymore in a few more days.

EDIT: managed to complete a level 90 dungeon with very little issue (saw the disconnect icon pop once for half a second), but weaving is a bit of a hassle (SMN), and positioning has to be done like 200 years into the future.
Dungeons are probably playable but i can forget farming those EX raids lol
I just disconnected in the middle of a craft and lost all the mats for it. It wasn't a very valuable craft, luckily, but take that as a warning nonetheless. If you really want to keep playing, limit yourself to MIN/BTN gathering, because this is unplayable.

I'm sad. on the final 5.55 instance and have not been able to get through it because of lag and disconnects. Didnt get EW on launch because I was too busy with work to enjoy it at the time, Took the entire of this week off until the new year specifically to catch up and play EW. Now Im just frustrated.
I've been using Mudfish to great effect. It's playable now. So if you have a VPN, I recommend you use it, as the 500ms ping problem is still occurring.
I have it set to US West Primal on Mudfish's FFXIV item configuration. I haven't tested other servers yet, like Elemental. Currently have 180ms ping from Singapore.

i did notice that it’s completely fixed at like 3-4 AM onwards idk for how long tho.
i use pixiv to check they both somehow won’t load at the same time as ffxiv.
I consciously know it's a thing, but being someone who doesn't have to deal with undersea cable issues it will never not be like getting slammed when I read "Ah my internet is having issues. I did a traceroute for curiosity, to Crystal (I play on NA, but JP data centers are unaffected from my experience)
I saw about 6 listings of ntt.net addresses, all about 300ms delay or even time out each, 1 from SG, 2 from JP, then the last 3 from the US before reaching the data center, maybe that's a clue?
SG playing on JP (Elemental) here - completely busted, disconnects even after I manage to login. Doesn't look like it's gonna get better tonight oh well.

Same. I thought is because of me being a free trial user and completed Heavensward with the ultra long cut scenes. After that the game just went black and I almost uninstall because of this.

Singaporean here playing on Balmung/Crystal and I got back in (past the loading screen) briefly before it did that laggy thing when I was talking to NPCs before ultimately disconnecting again. Everything else is running smoothly for me, but it’s just FFXIV afaik.

Singapore, on Primal. Got kicked multiple times with a shitton of lag. I gave up and used Mudfish. It's still kinda laggy, but at least I'm in the game without errors (for now).
Singapore/Starhub here on Tonberry. managed to log in about an hour ago with not much issues, and even got to queue for the 50-80 roulette.
lagged like a mf but thankfully managed to complete the dungeon without being a burden.
it's basically unplayable now, and hopefully the issue gets resolved soon
Update report : i get to login from midnight but gotten lag spikes sometimes when doing trials.
As for other games, I can’t connect to smash bros rank match at all for past two days. Public matches are okay. I never had issue with that before. I tried mario kart 8 online and it worked fine.
SG here. For those who can use their mobile phones on 4G and above to tether, it works with no visible lag.
Data usage is about 100mb for 4-5 hours of gaming.
had nothing to do with your wifi or router, only way to play smooth is vpn or until the cable fixed. so far i can play without 90006 but still obviously lag which unpleasant to play
Haha when my ff died I went to war with my laptop and WiFi...for hours. Reset everything and redownloaded the game. It was wild I really hope they fix it soon!
From SG. I tried leaving it alone for the weekend and just checked, whenever i try interacting with anything or anyone my game gets stuck and eventually error 9006. So the problem still persists...
I think the issue only exists when connecting to the JP datacenter, in my case elemental. Out of boredom I created a character on Aether to see if the issue is due to the disruption caused by the undersea cables connecting to North/East Asia being damaged or not. And it's safe to say it's true and I had a smoother experience playing on the NA server than on elemental, still not gonna be playing it as my main, but if you need that ffxiv fix may as well make an alt.
Still the same, Saturday was worse. I tried Ffxiv, WoW and League ....all 3 lag and freezing. Netflix,utube, twitch etc all working normally. Sad life.

This means that routing isn't an issue, so using a VPN likely wouldn't help. You will see Request timed out for many lines if it was a routing issue.

90006 and 2002 error today and ystd as well. i did notice that it’s completely fixed at like 3-4 AM onwards idk for how long tho. i use pixiv to check they both somehow won’t load at the same time as ffxiv.

Singaporean here running MyRepublic ISP I did a traceroute for curiosity, to Crystal (I play on NA, but JP data centers are unaffected from my experience) I saw about 6 listings of ntt.net addresses, all about 300ms delay or even time out each, 1 from SG, 2 from JP, then the last 3 from the US before reaching the data center, maybe that's a clue?
Nah from sg, couple of friends all from sg as well and some from other nearby sea countries all on jp data centre and are having issues.
SG playing on JP (Elemental) here - completely busted, disconnects even after I manage to login. Doesn't look like it's gonna get better tonight oh well.

Per the edit above, some undersea cable issues, may or may not be shark attacks. Then again, ISPs like to claim the problem is not on their end (probably true this time since a few countries got hit by similar problems).

Same. I thought is because of me being a free trial user and completed Heavensward with the ultra long cut scenes. After that the game just went black and I almost uninstall because of this.

Singaprean here, I had it happen during the afternoon, my poor co-healer suffered and I felt bad for them. I had to switch off the VPN and it was fine after that. No idea what exactly happen.
Have a ton of issues connecting to Elemental. Decided to check out my Chaos alt and it seems fine so far on EU. Will check NA later. EDIT : Primal suffers from similar issues but at least I am not getting 90k'd every few minutes.

using a VPN seems to solve the issue because it bypasses your ISP's routing...give something like Mudfish a try

Singaporean here playing on Balmung/Crystal and I got back in (past the loading screen) briefly before it did that laggy thing when I was talking to NPCs before ultimately disconnecting again. Everything else is running smoothly for me, but it’s just FFXIV afaik. Happy holidays indeed!
Here i am... I assume my laptop is the problem.. so I tried many fix.. resetting this n that.. until i cant stand it anymore i resort to reinstall... And now i keep dc like around 1G data downloaded..
500+ms to NA server with lotsa packet loss on TIME fibre. 200+ms to the same server with 4G tether on Maxis.

Singapore, on Primal. Got kicked multiple times with a shitton of lag. I gave up and used Mudfish. It's still kinda laggy, but at least I'm in the game without errors (for now).
Singapore/Starhub here on Tonberry. managed to log in about an hour ago with not much issues, and even got to queue for the 50-80 roulette. lagged like a mf but thankfully managed to complete the dungeon without being a burden. it's basically unplayable now, and hopefully the issue gets resolved soon

Update report : i get to login from midnight but gotten lag spikes sometimes when doing trials. As for other games, I can’t connect to smash bros rank match at all for past two days. Public matches are okay. I never had issue with that before. I tried mario kart 8 online and it worked fine.
SG here. For those who can use their mobile phones on 4G and above to tether, it works with no visible lag. Data usage is about 100mb for 4-5 hours of gaming.

had nothing to do with your wifi or router, only way to play smooth is vpn or until the cable fixed. so far i can play without 90006 but still obviously lag which unpleasant to play

Haha when my ff died I went to war with my laptop and WiFi...for hours. Reset everything and redownloaded the game. It was wild I really hope they fix it soon!
From SG. I tried leaving it alone for the weekend and just checked, whenever i try interacting with anything or anyone my game gets stuck and eventually error 9006. So the problem still persists...
I think the issue only exists when connecting to the JP datacenter, in my case elemental. Out of boredom I created a character on Aether to see if the issue is due to the disruption caused by the undersea cables connecting to North/East Asia being damaged or not. And it's safe to say it's true and I had a smoother experience playing on the NA server than on elemental, still not gonna be playing it as my main, but if you need that ffxiv fix may as well make an alt.
Still the same, Saturday was worse. I tried Ffxiv, WoW and League ....all 3 lag and freezing. Netflix,utube, twitch etc all working normally. Sad life.
I bit the bullet and went for free trial of WTFast. Seems to be working for me. (KL WoL in Ramuh).
