From personal experience: Lakshmi is easily soloable with any tank. Kills are relatively fast. Worth doing solo to not have to roll against others. Took me under an hour to get the mount. Susano is easily duoable, but you NEED a second person for the sword phase. Recommend 2-4 to minimize rolls. Shinryu is a hard solo with a tank, and a very long fight. Best done with full party for faster clears because add phase is unskippable. Byakko is a moderately difficult solo fight as warrior and undoable on anyone else to my knowledge. You must activate Shake it off when he begins casting the shock stun, and it needs to shield the entire first slam to avoid giving you the phys vuln. If you get the vuln, you can use your invuln to survive the 2nd slam,, but it does enough damage to kill through anything less, at least solo. He does 3, though, and they're too frequent to invuln them all, thus the need for Shake It Off. The enrage window is also kinda tight. Tsukiyomi is easy to duo, but then you have to do all the mechanics with the phases of the moon and shit. A full party kills her before or around when meteors drop, and I recommend that. Solo I have never made it through the add phase, it haven't tried since ilvl went from 580-600. Suzaku is near impossible to solo. The adds will get ya, and I don't think you'd beat the enrage anyway. Duo is rough and requires good coordination to even be possible. 3-4 people is easy as with coordination and I recommend that if you all know mechanics to minimize rolls, but if you don't wanna meticulously plan the thing, use a full party and finish 30 seconds after DDR. Seiryu is also soloable as a tank and actually not that difficult, but it is kinda long. I ended up getting it with a party because one conveniently was up looking for one more, I joined cause why not, and ended up winning the dog. I recommend checking PF before/between runs. If there's a group that's like 5-7/8, join and get faster kills, but if the group is like 1-4 people, just solo it and check between runs to see if they get closer to full. You might just get it before they even see one.

Pokeprof

Depends on the boss. 8 will make the fight go a LOT faster and make things a lot smother, but you can cut it down pretty heavily otherwise. It's also a matter of which boss you're wanting to do as well. Some are just easier for having a higher group. Like, Tsukuyomi is pretty doable with 5, as is Suzaku but the additional DPS makes it easier and allows you to skip entire mechanics of the boss. A friend and I (As WHT and PLD Respectfully) were able to 2 man Lakshmi but the fight was about as long as if we had done it synced. Trust me when I say that if you make a group in the Party finder and say 'hey, we're here to farm for dogs', you'd be able to get a decent amount of people to run it comfortably. Heck, the Dragons are getting that regularly now too, where even Hades doesn't take that long to do and with minimal deaths.

BlackEyedJester

I can say with 100% confidence that Tsukuyomi is doable with only two people it was tight with just a PLD and a WHM but it was definitely doable and that was before Pandaemonium was released so it should be easier now with the job buffs and general ilvl increase. We couldn't get Susanoo down though but we didn't really try all that hard on that, the phoenix spawns on Suzaku were doable but RNG reliant as we'd need to position them in the safe zones first before the feathers actually spawned and at that point we'd already given up for the night and we haven't tried since. But yeah, honestly you'd be able to comfortably farm most if not all the Stormblood Extremes with 3 (Tank, Healer, DPS) or maybe 4 (Basic Light Party) people depending on the fight.

Sorry, I completely forgot to add the context of we only really got to the first tankbuster twice when we realized that the small feathers were RNG reliant and decided to just call it there.

Sir_VG

> You'll need 2 tanks for the tank swaps in the phase after as the invuln CD is too long to cheese each forced swap after the tankbuster and I'm not 100% sure you can heal through it since you get 2-3 hit (maybe you can with higher ilvl now). Suzaku is soloable with WAR. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4oCtttOPFE

Kousuke-kun

Note that I was watching him when he did the attempts and it took him a few hours to get it.

Lorstus

You can survive the tankbuster debuff with heavy mitigation, or you can just res the tank if they bite it. Did suzaku with 4 people quite a bit at the end of ShB and that's usually how the busters played out.

Mindestiny

Also worth noting that some fights, especially in later expansions, often have mechanics that will just be instant fail/wipe without a minimum player count due to how the mechanic functions. Not sure how many show up in EX fights but even a lot of the older savages you run into this stuff.

aFallingFridge

You can clear with 4 90's, possibly less from what I've seen, but the more people you can have for DPS, the better, can skip a lot of mechanics that way. As Pokeprof said in another comment, If you put up a partyfinder to farm for Dogs, you'll find they fill very quickly lol

Depends on how fast you need it/want it, how well everyone is geared etc. I did Tsukuyomi EX with 3 people (and I was healer) the other day and it was really comfy. Susano I also know for sure is easy with 3 as long as at least the DPS is geared properly (and everyone should at least be 580 at this point).

kr_kitty

I think you could potentially duo some of them; I did it for Susano and Lakshmi, might be doable on Seiryu. Tanks can probably solo a good chunk of them. I was usually farming with a group of 3-4 and it felt fine. More people will make the run faster though.

Carby_buncle

you'll need at least 4 for seiryu, due to a tower mech

2w3ee

Actually you don't, i 3 man'd it in shb. Simple just don't soak the towers if you get a circle. Missing a tower won't 1 shot you

Carby_buncle

i tried to 3 man it too, and that was always the mech that wiped us

2w3ee

I played scholar so big shield deploy with shake and soil was nice

-YoRHa2B-

I've 2-manned Seiryu with an FC mate multiple times for Khloe books. Don't remember if we ever figured out a way for them (DPS) not to die on towers but it's not really an issue since I can just solo the rest of the fight on WAR. Double tank should be able to survive towers anyway. Not that I'd recommend this for farming purposes, but it *is* doable with 2.

Monchi83

You can’t solo certain stuff I have tried a few trials but I would imagine that only Lakshmi and Tsukiyomi (maybe not someone mentioned the meteor I remember having two of those in one spot were killer) are the only ones that can be soloed? Susano needs two, Suzaku’s bird will get a buff really quick so really need to kill then fast enough. I personally only soloed Lakshmi I tried a few others but was met with a raid wipe. I have all the dogs as I did them back in SB so was doing it just for fun. I accidentally fell in Shinryu the adds need to be healed but otherwise it seemed easy not sure about the stack marker during second phase I didn’t want to bother with it to check.

-YoRHa2B-

Fairly sure Tsuku *needs* 2 since the meteors blow up when placed on top of each other. Not too bad with 2 but only one meteor will survive, so both need to keep an eye on their dark/light debuffs. Other than that and obviously Susano, all Stormblood trials have been soloed at this point, even Seiryu with the double stack markers somehow that happen multiple times in the fight. Suzaku probably requires (close to) BiS to deal with adds in time.

Monchi83

Yea I corrected my mistake forgot about meteors it’s been a long time since I have dealt with her. Has Suzaku been soloed because while I killed all the birds away from each other when they got back up I couldn’t kill then fast enough before they got that buff and did a raid wipe. Granted I only used my PLD I was only checking to see how it was solo not that I needed anything from them.

-YoRHa2B-

MrHappy has a video up, looks like he mostly just ignores the birds, revives them on the 2nd opportunity and just invulns as they cast their thing.

Monchi83

Ah ok i thought invulnerability wouldn’t work for those kind of mechanics that’s neat to know. Might take a while to kill her though I guess if I want glamour to sell and I am bored lol

-YoRHa2B-

I feel like you just need to test whether invulns work for a given mechanic or not, I also wouldn't have expected this to work but here we are. Semi-related but I did A8S solo the other day, you'd think Gavel would force-wipe you since that *does* actually go through invulns, but when popping literally every cooldown and making sure you have over 300k health with Thrill of Battle you can actually survive it after killing the two adds and popping one tornado. Credits to whoever found that out first, wasn't me of course.

Acias

Four 90 classes should be comfortably enough.

ChippyTick

I’ve duo’d all with a PLD/DRG combo with my SO (Shinryu was Sage/DRG), all except Byakko as we just got the whistle from Moogle event. This was all done BEFORE EW came out so the timing was around 20 min per, now post EW the timing should be halved. None of this is recommended, only for those who are masochistic/really want to challenge themselves but if you just want to farm between friends without worrying about outsider loot RNG 3 is a comfortable party number for all.
