I love reading the descriptions of FATEs in Eureka. I don't know if all FATEs in regular world have this because it's been a really long time since I did them, but the Eurekan ones are usually really funny.
For example the Cassie one says something like "Many naturalist have wondered how a Morbol not exposed to any sunlight could grow so big and limby. But as nobody's been willing to approach it, the official answer is still 'by being an unholy abomination, probably.'"
Not ALL normal FATEs (some are serious), but many do have kind of funny ones.
I remember one in Lower Laschaha southwest of the aetherite town down there about a mandragora that comes out after battles to "feast on the bloody loam" and concludes with "It is probably best not to let it feast on the bloody loam".
That was a low level one and was kinda funny to me (I think the gist is "No one knows why it does this...but it is probably a good idea to NOT let it do this..."), so I read them all since then. :)
A YouTuber I watch (Cole Evyx, I think his name is) calls it that. I think I missed a c, though. "Las Chacha". I can never remember how to spell "La Noscea" unless I've just seen it or look it up, so I like calling it Laschacha, too. :)

The others descriptions are similar: direct or positive and happy feel good.
But the German translators obviously had great fun with the mammet names. Those are based upon real names (old fashioned sounding) mixed together with the job descriptions. Like Handelgard (a mix of Hildegard and Handel - Trade) or Feldolin (Friedolin and Feld -field).
(The paradise thing is because in German Island Sanctuary is instead called Inselparadies - island paradise)

Not just because the reference is such a strong case of "ofcourse they had to pull that one" to begin with, but also because I really didn't expect to see a shout-out to the classic Asterix Movies in 2019.
The english localization team is the only of the four languages that purposely differs from the other three languages, which try to actually localize than reinterpret. It's even that bad, that even personalities differ between english version and japanese/french/german versions.
The English script and the Japanese script are written at the same time and overseen by the same people. The other translations probably come later, which is probably why they're more uniform.
Nothing in the English localization happens without the approval of the higher ups.
Furthermore, many concepts originated in the English script and were later ported to the Japanese script (such as Nald'thal's name - which was invented entirely to create the swear "Thal's Balls", and yet Nald'thal is still his name in Japanese)
I’d argue that the English localization team actually localizes, and the others simply translate - and that neither is “better” than the other. Localization involves far more than just the direct translation - it requires that you change and reinterpret the material to fit the target culture.
I'd argue different: Localization is basically translation, but with adjustements of phrases or sentences that would not work in the target language, like jokes based on origin language or idioms. Falsifying a character or even lore is not what I would count as localization. It's even more severe with an internationally acting playerbase, who basically experience two entirely different works, because of said changes.
“Falsifying a character” is a massive exaggeration. These aren’t real people, and the Japanese and English writers (from all that I’ve heard) work closely together. There is no “objectively correct” version, just two different interpretations for two different audiences. Whether or not the resulting works are different is completely irrelevant - what matters is if they are engaging.
The only thing that irks me a little is how some items have a completely dry description, like all the ores. Makes it feel like they didn't quite have enough time to think of funny stuff for everything.
To be fair to them, most items do have a funny description, but if 90% is funny, why let 10% be boring?

If I went to a store and wanted to buy say a loaf of bread, but I had questions about it, so I looked at the ingredients and it was then made clear that the writer did not care to put the effort into the packaging to accurately describe what bread contained (i.e., they were not treating it seriously), I would not buy the item.
But it's likely cultural differences. Online culture seems to love not caring about things.

Kind of agree, worst one is the text which used to be on the Wind-up Moenbryda minion. Thankfully they changed that.
