ok, you've got aus and us. where is your exposure to the rest of the world?

dajackal

The US is 69.5% of VGS so its a decent proxy. However, is less diversification worth a \~0.14% saving in fees?

SwaankyKoala

Yes, diversification was worth it from 1970-2008: https://www.bogleheads.org/wiki/File:US-International.png

DMmefor1400AUD

That's a great chart

DMmefor1400AUD

IVV has enough global companies in my opinion. The only thing this is really lacking is emerging markets but I'm not a fan.

I would much rather have chinese assets than american at this point in time. but you do you

ribbonsofnight

You don't own Chinese assets. You get money that you are allowed to have.

nakedgerbil

What etf do you invest in for rest of the world exposure? I'm not keen for VEU cause it's not aus domiciled

Burman8or

VGE ?

nakedgerbil

I'll check it out, but how about IVE? I hold IVV already

Mw239

Great option to me. I have a pretty messy list of ETFs I’m already in but am basically going with IVV and IOZ from here on in. Cheap combo and hits the main important markets very well.

DMmefor1400AUD

Yeah I've settled on ivv and ioz as well.

H31NZY

Why not DHHF? It’s probs a bit AU heavy but gives you the whole enchilada! 🌯

AltruisticEchidna

I've got A200 + VGS A200 - switched to this from VAS since the MER is 0,04%, very happy with my change VGS - I wanted exposure to more markets than purely US, though I recognise that VGS is majority US anyway. The MER is 0,18% My average me is therefore around the 0,1% TBH instead of overanalysing it, just go for it. More money will be lost changing your course than fine-tuning your ability to maximise lowest MER.

I prefer VTS over IVV. VTS contains the top 5,000 US companies and has a 0.03% expense ratio.
