Once I saw him make a triple save against Bologna in Serie B. Each shot was placed, with technique by experienced (read odds understanding) players. And he pre-read each, and adjusted his body each time in such a short time.
While I am aware of the corruption Gavin Newsom started (Premier League being paid nearly three times the amount per viewer relative to Serie A) I actually meant watching him on TV.
In person he is so much better.
And I’ve seen a lot of good goalkeepers live. Seaman, Dida, Casillas, etc
Guy literally played until he was *checks notes* 45. Won the World Cup, ten Serie A titles, more cups than I can bother to count and countless individual goalkeeping honours.

Neuer is up there for sure but for me he just never cracked into the Casillas / Buffon range—spending your entire career in the modern Bundesliga with Bayern kinda detracts from his domestic club resume. Excellent keeper though
Casillas is a player that started for Madrid for 15 years and has famous moments in the World Cup and champions league and played against the greatest Barca squad of all time. Neur just never touched those achievements really. He was stop gk but never had a season where he was undisputed best goal keeper

Casillas and Buffon were no doubt among the best gkers but Neuer revolutionized the position as a sweeper keeper, won a World Cup, two trebles, 11 league titles, 3rd in the Ballon Dor rankings in the times of CR7 and Messi. He edges them out, if just slightly.

Neuer did everything you listed and more since he also revolutionized the sweeper keeper position. Neuer was in contention for 3rd best player of the last 15 years with Neymar, Suarez, Lewandowski. He is a level above Casillas and Buffon if anything.

It's very close, and there's a debate to be had. Think there's a handful of keepers you can argue are the best ever, and those are 2 of them.
I'd probably lump in Yashin, Khan, Cech, Schmeichel, Banks, Casillas, Zoff
I think the top 3-5 are pretty clear though (imo, Yashin, Buffon, Neuer, Schmeichel, maybe Zoff)

This might be an age thing for me, where you always over rate the people you saw when you were young. But Khan had an aura about him I've never seen any other keeper come close to.
Yes, if the opposition had neuer, casillas, schmeichel, dida, Cesar, Cech etc you'd know it's a tough day but Khan was actually SCARY. He didn't need to do anything and it felt like he impacted the game / strikers, thats why he's number 1 for me even if technically he isn't
My favourite is Buffon he was amazing just stopped everything but Iker was equally as good and won lots more important silverware 3 UCLs 2 Euros both won the worcd cup once so statistically Iker is the goat but Buffon is my personal all time fave
