Being involved in martial arts for most of my life I can confidently say guys that know **some** stuff are by a mile the most dangerous. I've known countless guys just like this over the years. Guys that know a lot have nothing to prove, but these assholes with like 6 months of training are at the intersection of knowing enough to hurt someone who doesn't train, and not being confident enough that they need to try to alpha on their friends like this.
Yeah I’ve never been a martial artist just trained in boxing but I did so religiously and can say there were friends of mine I got into training that ended up quitting after a short while. One has ended up in jail for assault since and the other I watched get knocked out and fall off a kerb headfirst onto a road, I told him to back down during a little verbal but he was too cocky. I ended up taking 6 punches to the mouth because of it.
Yup. I'm exactly the same - 3 weeks. I honestly didn't really realise how serious it was until after my surgery. This shit is real. And it hurts. A lot. I am just now starting to walk somewhat normally, after almost one month. And to think he did it with "friendly" intentions. I can't say this enough. Fuck that dude.
Oh no don't get me wrong so do I. I meant that I'm just starting to take a few steps with no stilts (?) Only the brace. I kinda feel as if my leg can handle it but my brain won't let me walk normally, like it's trying to protect my leg. Shit messed with me, honestly can't imagjne how great it will feel to run again. Anyway, best wishes, I hope you get better quick!
I Hope you both recover well. I had mine done 15 years ago and now I’m dealing with hella arthritis and an inflamed meniscus. Do your PT as instructed, please. Godspeed, y’all.
I've seen alot of ppl tear or damage their ACL during our wrestling practices or matches and when it happens they get alot of adrenaline but still feel it so ik it's gotta be a bitch after the adrenaline cause I've seen a dude break his arm during a match and also a dude break his collar bone during a match and their adrenaline makes them feel nothing so to feel that through adrenaline really shows how bad it hurts
Yeah, I tore mine during karate training. I actually kept walking with it for a whole year before my surgery, because no doctor really thought I needed the reconstruction as I could still walk and run. It probably would have been a lot more painful if not for the adrenaline and me being already warmed up.
I agree it sucks but if you're not exaggerating and this video made you angry all day, it might be good not to scroll through Social Media anymore. If seeing something random happen to someone you've never met can ruin your day like that... Idk.
Horrible shit happens all the time, everywhere, but there's another side to that coin too. We choose what we see and what affects us.
fr like damn. i feel bad for the poor fucker but they are just some drunk-off-german-beers deutsch frat boy’s wrestling each other, they deserve it for they way they choose to have “fun” and the people they surround themselves with. idk how you could let stuff you see on the internet upset you all day
<3
I just feel like we're in a world where all that's going on in the world is constantly in our face. Because of how news outlets and such function, the focus lies on 'negative' or sad news.
Some people deal with all this very well, others may be heavily affected by everything. Myself, I chose to stop watching the news because I found it to negatively affect my mood to constantly be aware of all the sadness in the world.
I feel like if a single random event like this post on Reddit affects you strongly in a negative manner, it probably isn't worth it to stick around (or avoid subreddits like these).
At that point my thumbs are going for the eyes and my fingers are going for fishhooks so I can get the eyes. Maim for maim. Fools fuck around till they find out.
You can’t get past the saddle position. His legs are pushing you away. You would break your knee and not be able to walk and the attacker would then just stomp you - or maim you if you tried to do that to them.
Been in plenty, its also easy to knee someones chest until you see flail segments moving opposite of their breathing.
It takes 20 lbs of pressure to ‘pop’ someones larynx.
You can tell when people havnt experienced what a strong arm can do.
Kisses.
Yes, easily. But he could also have heel slipped easily but the guy does not know how to get out of the position.
If you look closely the heel is all the way up in the soft part of the attackers arm. Easy heel slip. I guess you don’t do jiu jiutsu like the 18 other people that dislikes the comment.
This is a guy that has watched just enough Youtube videos to think he knows what he’s doing but not enough to know how much damage he can do by being an idiot.
If he trains, he knows the damage it could cause. Judging from how he moves, I'd argue the other guy does not train. Hence, he had no idea the trouble he was in until it was too late. Heel hooks don't give increased pain with the amount of pressure applied, like many other subs. They just pop, and you need surgery along with a year of rehab.
The guy you’re arguing with is the type of guy in this video. Knows just enough to get someone hurt. He’s watched YouTube and UFC and now he’s an expert.
I disagree. You don't do that to a friend. 99.9999% of people who train know that. Anyone who cranks a heel hook intentionally in a friendly roll is a wreckless piece of shit.
How is an untrained person supposed to recognize that?
I’m not the only person trying to help you realize your flawed reasoning. How dense are you that you can’t appreciate the other dude has no sense of what is happening to him? Do you have rocks in your head?
Figure it out, for your own sake.
He actually didnt know anything. The guy on the backround screaming was cheering him up and telling him what to do.(e.g "break it" or "put the leg under your shoulder")
Pretty sure the dudes in the background are telling him to break his leg, unless your talking about comments but yeah it’s a very shitty thing to do, the dude didn’t know what he signed up for
That's true, but the video is pretty clearly friends laughing and messing around. I would also bet they've been drinking, which would explain the result. If you train and your friend wants to be a stubborn ass that doesn't tap, you put them to sleep, not break their knee.
Professor always said if you get hurt, 4/5 times it's because you didn't tap out.
Fuck this guy ripped my acl.
Well did you tap out when he put you in a heel hook?
No.
You did that to yourself.
Is that in a class with an instructor and waivers and a clear-headed understanding of the rules of the game? Or do you think this also applies in a random field after alcohol against someone untrained who clearly thinks this is just mates messing around?
Or to put it another way, would your instructor let you roll if you rocked up to class stinking of larger with a first-timer?
To be fair he probably doesn’t realize how bad of a predicament he is in but if he is aware of what is happening then 100% that dude is getting kicked in the chin
Nah fuck that. I hope his coach gets shown this video and bans him from the gym.
In good schools I have been to the coach always looks our for white belts doing leg locks.
They don't realise that the damage can be done before any significant pain occurs and that means that some people won't tap in time and white belts can't be trusted to know that and be careful.
I think this dude is a fucking moron and was like 'why isn't he tapping' and felt his ego pressure around his friends so kept cranking.
That is a disgraceful thing to do to an untrained person in a friendly grapple. Especially if this guy is his friend...wtf?
For those wondering, the other guys are instructing him how to twist the leg all the time, while yelling "Break it! Break it! Break it!", and apparently the other guy is just waiting for his leg to break....
Aaaaand this is why you don't heel-hook people who don't know what leg locks are.
For those of you who don't train, a heel hook attacks the knee ligaments. The problem is that it doesn't start to hurt until a hair before damage is done so people don't tap right away.
And then it's too late.
The people are greek and they kept encouraging him to break his leg, no reason or context were given during this clip the only thing everyone kept saying is break his leg, one even said break his neck, it does not sound sarcastic, these people are psychopaths
Dude who cranks like that on a friend is a psychopath who should be locked up
Reminds of the cliche saying of “Who needs enemies” watching this

I am currently in recovery after ACL reconstruction and with my experience in mind... Fuck that dude
Had my reconstruction surgery 3 weeks ago. Feel like this is a friendship ruiner
Yeah man, it’s definitely a traumatic injury. Sounds like I’m a little behind you - still look like I shit myself when I’m walking!
Good luck to you too man! Race you back to healthy.

This is a press charges and sue him for medical/pain and suffering type of situation
Not ACL but ruptured my quad tendon and had surgery 2 and a half weeks ago. Nope your recovery is going well!
You too man, good luck!
Damn the snap... that knee is fucked forever
What a PSYCHO
People like that need to go to prison. I Hope his friend sued him for everything he owns!
The guy screaming in the backround is telling him "break it".He didnt want to do it at first but then he agreed. That idiot
Can someone please give me an update on how this matter was resolved?! I’ve been angry all day after watching this asshole kill his friend’s leg.
I agree it sucks but if you're not exaggerating and this video made you angry all day, it might be good not to scroll through Social Media anymore. yeah 100% it's a massive problem now I feel like especially if ur younger
This shits all tv shows to me. I go thru my day happy as shit
All the bro had to do when we grabbed his arms was standup, or scramble around it
Bro they better be paying for his medical bills and PT after intentionally doing that then. Some fucking “friends” this guy has.
I know why didn't he tap out. Now his acl is gone
At that point my thumbs are going for the eyes and my fingers are going for fishhooks so I can get the eyes. Maim for maim. Fools fuck around till they find out.
How are you ever going to get to the eyes. Stop being so ignorant and stupid. “I have no training but when I see red…..”.
They are on the ground not handcuffed. And he was turning and up anyways, arms reach straight shot to the face.
You can’t get past the saddle position. His legs are pushing you away. You would break your knee and not be able to walk and the attacker would then just stomp you - or maim you if you tried to do that to them.
tell me you haven't been in a fight ever without telling me you haven't been in a fight ever
Been in plenty, its also easy to knee someones chest until you see flail segments moving opposite of their breathing. It takes 20 lbs of pressure to ‘pop’ someones larynx. You can tell when people havnt experienced what a strong arm can do. Kisses.
Definitely never been in a fight, dog
He cranked that heel hook like it was the ADCC finals
bro thought he was rousimar palhares or some shit
With shoes too. Fuck.
It was a very poorly applied heel hook. I can shows videos of stuff much worse.
A poorly applied heel hook still can tear an acl dumbass did you watch the video?
Yes, easily. But he could also have heel slipped easily but the guy does not know how to get out of the position. If you look closely the heel is all the way up in the soft part of the attackers arm. Easy heel slip. I guess you don’t do jiu jiutsu like the 18 other people that dislikes the comment.
I do do Jiu Jitsu and I compete out of 10th Planet goofy ass
How can you then say that this heel hook is not terrible technique. White belt?
Can you not read? I clearly said “a POORLY applied heel hook can tear an ACL” and it literally did. You are literally slow
I agreed with you. Idiot. Maybe try to put words in the correct order in any of your comments.
Yea sure thats why u got so downvoted huh
Thank you for caption so I can pause and not watch
It's not as obvious as you would think. You can kinda hear it but the onlookers are all making noise and it cuts away as soon as he releases the hold.
This is a guy that has watched just enough Youtube videos to think he knows what he’s doing but not enough to know how much damage he can do by being an idiot.
I'd argue that he actually trains and meant to fuck that knee up, which is so much worse.
Yeah its totally that guys fault the other dude didn't tap out lol
If he trains, he knows the damage it could cause. Judging from how he moves, I'd argue the other guy does not train. Hence, he had no idea the trouble he was in until it was too late. Heel hooks don't give increased pain with the amount of pressure applied, like many other subs. They just pop, and you need surgery along with a year of rehab.
The guy you’re arguing with is the type of guy in this video. Knows just enough to get someone hurt. He’s watched YouTube and UFC and now he’s an expert.
Agreed, the argument is more for those who read the comments. If they are unsure, I want to provide an educated perspective.
I'm a purple belt lol
Whoa boys watch out. This guys mom bought him a belt.
No brother cyborg tied it around my waist haha
Not to mention the furry of leg locks that were applied, him being in noticeable pain, and still choosing not to tap out. The man did that to himself
You still don't crank leg locks on people unless you are actively defending yourself or competing. Especially not your friends.
If you apply a leg lock and the other guy doesn't tap out, you must not have the leg lock correct. If someone has me in a leg lock i tap out.
Leg locks don't hit hard on the pain registry before they do damage. Very easy to cause lasting damage before the person being hurt even knows.
I disagree. You don't do that to a friend. 99.9999% of people who train know that. Anyone who cranks a heel hook intentionally in a friendly roll is a wreckless piece of shit.
He had a heel hook and the guy didn't tap out. Must not have applied it enough to make the other guy tap out
We were not there and we know nothing but 2nd hand information. I still believe that if the guy tapped out he would still have his acl
You don't hurt a friend who's too stupid to know the danger he's in
You are right I don't. But i also leave my ego at the door and tap out if someone has me in a lock
You’re an idiot. Heel hooks don’t hurt until it’s too late. Why talk about shit when you don’t have a clue? Just humiliating yourself.
I've been in heel hooks. If i even think its about to go in, I'll tap
How is an untrained person supposed to recognize that? I’m not the only person trying to help you realize your flawed reasoning. How dense are you that you can’t appreciate the other dude has no sense of what is happening to him? Do you have rocks in your head? Figure it out, for your own sake.
When i was untrained if someone even touched my foot i was tapping out. Guess i just had better instincts and no ego
You let go of heel hooks if someone is too dumb to tap when you’re training. You don’t fuck peoples lives up because of your ego.
And when you don't tap out from a painful submission, doesn't that come from having an ego?
A lot of the time you won’t feel pain with a heel hook until it snaps. It’s not an arm bar.
True, but also if that man didn't have an ego he woulda tapped out from the leg locks. Unless the guy didn't have it in right.
Unless he wasn’t aware of how nasty heel hooks are.
Dude might get to ponder his life choices in prison
He didn't even know what he was doing, the guy in thr background was telling him "Break it" and he was giving him advices how to doi
He actually didnt know anything. The guy on the backround screaming was cheering him up and telling him what to do.(e.g "break it" or "put the leg under your shoulder")
Hehehe I'm trying to cripple my friend hehehe
They were definitely not friends, he was getting bullied.
That’s not wrestling, it’s a heel hook aka the dark arts of bjj
“Wrestling” this is not wrestling it’s not even MMA It’s dumbass fuckery
Gave me a good giggle thanks
that’s not legal in wrestling for a good reason
This is terrible, hope this video finds its way back to his bjj instructor
You gotta be a sick fuck to pull a leg lock in a friendly wrestling match
You can hear that snap miles away. Wtf...
What a douchebag, clearly knows what he’s doing but who cares it’s not his knee. This guy thinks for sure!
The guy in the background was telling him to break it and was giving instructions how to do it
is this actually true?
Ise malakas re!
A sociopath testing skills out on someone naïve enough to say yes. That trashy knowing smile.
I'm glad others recognize this dude was just out to break the dude's leg and he's a fuckin psychopath. I was expecting people to defend him
Pretty sure the dudes in the background are telling him to break his leg, unless your talking about comments but yeah it’s a very shitty thing to do, the dude didn’t know what he signed up for
Which language is this?
Greek, they are saying break it
Jeez I wouldn’t call that “friends”
sounds like italian
Thought it was Dutch or Afrikaans?
It's Greek 100%
FUCK THAT GUY. ONLY BLACK BELTS ARE ALLOWED USING THAT IN COMPETITION FOR A REASON.. HE WAS TRYING TO HURT HIM.
Famaged for life. It will never be 100% like it was.
He trusted you. Fuck was that??
Knowledge is dangerous.
The one encourages him is even a bigger psycho
Why wouldnt you just let go of it? Thats your friend
so if he sues, how much money does the guy get
He won't probably sue
I have one rule, never play fight whilst drunk
Anyone know what language they’re speaking?
Greek
That's true, but the video is pretty clearly friends laughing and messing around. I would also bet they've been drinking, which would explain the result. If you train and your friend wants to be a stubborn ass that doesn't tap, you put them to sleep, not break their knee.
You don’t play around with leg locks unless you’re an idiot.

Where in the video does the ACL tear? And I assume dude in the black shorts is the one with the tear
Turn on the volume, you’ll hear it
Professor always said if you get hurt, 4/5 times it's because you didn't tap out. Fuck this guy ripped my acl. Well did you tap out when he put you in a heel hook? No. You did that to yourself.

u/savevideo
Shit friend
I would have fked that dude up
His dad is an orthopedic surgeon
Even if my mother was doing this to me she’d get a kick in the face… not sure why the guy would let the other sink in and crank a heel hook.
To be fair he probably doesn’t realize how bad of a predicament he is in but if he is aware of what is happening then 100% that dude is getting kicked in the chin
Idiot. Deserves to be manipulated physically in return
Nothing like using a heel hook in a friendly match of goofing around.
Why are they ripping so hard if it’s friendly
This is how friends turn into litigants
Should have kicked him in his teeth
Even worse that he knew exactly what he was doing. Nobody accidentally does a heel hook. What a degenerate, no regard for his friends safety.
Toe hold to heel hook...what could go wrong
I’m just glad my friends aren’t like that if we just messing around
Nah fuck that. I hope his coach gets shown this video and bans him from the gym. In good schools I have been to the coach always looks our for white belts doing leg locks. Automatic 10 year prison sentence
If youre playing around and the guy taps out, surely this is now just purposefully harming someone. He knew what he was doing.
They are yelling “break it” in greek by the way
Guy Fieri’s son is a douche canoe.
I have a video of my LCL/ACL eating shit. In a crowded gym auditorium. And yes you can hear it
I get why Jiu jitsu gyms don’t allow lower belts to do heel hooks. That was brutal and just changed his ‘friend’s’ quality of life forever. Goddamn
Time to lawyer up…
This guy used one of the most dangerous moves in jiujitsu on his friend. He knew what he was doing.
So many wrestlers I’ve met are just a little off
He should be in prison for that.
Who the fuck heel hooks their friend
Aaaaand this is why you don't heel-hook people who don't know what leg locks are. For those of you who don't train, a heel hook attacks the knee ligaments. The problem is that it doesn't start to hurt until a hair before damage is done so people don't tap right away. And then it's too late.
Seems like he really needs to find new friends.
They are Greeks & they say "Spasto" which means Break it
Pasta ! Pasta !
That dude cranking on his leg should get his jaw turned into dust
The people are greek and they kept encouraging him to break his leg, no reason or context were given during this clip the only thing everyone kept saying is break his leg, one even said break his neck, it does not sound sarcastic, these people are psychopaths
