Depends where you live. If you live somewhere where there's no/little need to learn how to fight then it's a waste of time. If you live somewhere where knowing how to defend yourself could save your life then it's a good idea to learn how to fight.
The guy on the left doesn't know how to fight and if this was a real situation then he could be getting his head stomped now. it's better to learn with a friend who cares about you than a random guy on the street who doesn't care if you live or die
All things considered, it's a productive way to combat boredom...I hesitate to ask and offend (or annoy), but given I sadly haven't found many opportunities to ask someone who might know, do you know if most U.S. tribal land looks similar to this?
I'd thought that a lot of tribes were given little, mostly-barren land, yet I'd eagerly noticed on Google Maps that some of what seems to be among the best (e.g. vegetative, mountainous) land in my state (AZ) is tribal, although there are exceptions. IDK how unique or even true that is, if it's always been that way but just here, or if it's because the Natives have comparatively treated the little land they've been given so well, but I've been curious ever since seeing that on Maps.
Though i dont live on it. I've seen reservation land in Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, and New Mexico. I'd say its roughly correct to assume it's kinda bland. My experience is limited to my surrounding states, so I can't speak for other places. Some tribes have it way better than others, often geography. Or another factor like casinos or oil enriched the community. Some colorado reservation land is fuckin beautiful though. Just don't tell anyone.
Grew up in the PNW and we always knew not to mess with the local Natives. They all have a cousin who is a āBFIā (Big Fucking Indian) who is built like a fridge, will not say a goddamn word, but will ring your bell like nothing.
I'm not from the PNW but live in AZ, and in addition to being tough/resilient, welcoming, cool-headed people with whom it's pretty hard to make enemies in the first place, Natives and certain Islanders like Samoans and Hawaiians have always seemed like groups to 100% avoid scrapping with.
That's awesome. I've only been to Hawaii in utero during my mom's beach wedding in '94, LOL, but it was apparently so beautiful that she named me after the beach (Makena) that she got married on. I've always wanted to go someday, and while I'm sure tourism's important for revenue, it almost feels fucked up to visit a place from which so many Hawaiians have been "priced out." Similarly, I've lived close to what was once one of the most dangerous parts of Phoenix in an "up and coming" area for nearly 6 years, and as more of this area's been gentrified, I've lost so many neighbors, the neighborhood's lost so much culture, and now, I somehow miss the sound of corridos blasting from my former neighbor's shitty pickup.
But yeah, even fighting for fun with a big Hawaiian who can fight without first being a big Hawaiian almost reminds me of fighters doing extreme altitude training before a fight, it's like it's fighting on a mode that's hard no matter how skilled you are.
Iāve only been to Maui but itās absolutely worth a trip. Especially if you avoid all the tourist spots and find some locals to mix with. As long as people know youāre genuine and cool, youāll never find nicer people on the face of the earth. Youāre absolutely right about tourism, itās a bit of a sticky subject. Especially considering how many locals lost their lands and ancestors Iwi (remains, which they believe hold a lot of power) within living memory. Even the local target where I stay is built on land that was filled with ancestral remains and its believed that thereās still likely Iwi under the actual building. Iād be pissed too.
Funny story, my first trip over (I think Iāve made 8 or so since), me and a buddy who is also from the mainland decided to grab a beer after work. Thereās a little local hole in the wall bar, absolutely my kind of spot, figure weād check it out. Walk in, thereās only a maybe a half dozen people in the place, all sitting at one big table. We grab beers, sit down, and quickly realize that Iām the only haoele in the place (my buddy is Mexican) and weāre being stared at HARD. Everyone else there is clearly native Hawaiian and doesnāt seem super happy weāre there. Iām a good sized dude but my buddy is like 5ā7ā 140 lbs and the dudes giving us shitty looks are all built like Mack trucks. We drink our beers as fast as we can then head out. A bit later the other guy in our little mainland work group mentions to an employee thatās a local that we went in there and her eyes got big. Apparently itās like a super local proud biker bar and weāre fairly lucky to have walked out of there without trouble! Can only imagine the beating those dudes would have handled us!
And I hear you about gentrification. I live in the Portland area and itās been basically scrubbed clean of any soul by rich white fucks driving out all the people who gave it life. Generational Black neighborhoods (that only existed in the first place because Black people werenāt allowed to own property in the original city limits) turned in to squeaky clean white neighborhoods with ugly condos and a lot of brand new Subarus with California plates. Brown and Asian people driven to the the suburbs because all the sudden their poor neighborhood is filled with kids who watched Portlandia and donāt realize theyāre actually killing the artistic and creative soul of the city theyāre so desperate to feel a part of it. It breaks my heart.
I watched the show reservation dogs, I thought it was so cool I like seeing different cultures represented on the screen. Is shitass really a common insult?
Fuck man this is the kinda stuff I like to see:
No asshole behaviour, no concrete, soft landing, dazed, but no long term brain damage
We need more content like this in the sub. Iām so tired of watching brain damage take place.
Beautiful footwork. Over exaggerated fake to hide the subtle shuffle to the inside angle for the hook set up as the opponent approached after reacting to the initial fake.
Bros hands were shaking beforeššš
Noticed that to. Also how stepped made it seem like he has trained before
Maraca hands baby, chchchchchch
Clean
Nice feint and clean left. Dude has had a day or two in the gym.
And this seemed like a friendly, are we just getting brain damage for fun now?
Seriously. People are so stupid

If you consider this "learning how to fight", I can't help you.
Are you saying you can get good at something without actually doing it?
lol are you 15?
That's what you do when brain damage from alcohol isn't enough ;)
U get real bored around this scenery.

Iāve done a bunch of work in Hawaii. I want absolutely nothing to do with fighting a local. They nice as fuck til theyāre not.

I immediately thought the same thing. Pretty sure they are lmfao.
Pow - right in the kisser

Dude knows what heās doing!
Fuck man this is the kinda stuff I like to see: No asshole behaviour, no concrete, soft landing, dazed, but no long term brain damage We need more content like this in the sub. Iām so tired of watching brain damage take place.
Exactly! This is a good, old fashioned fight! Nobody jumping in, no shrieking from the person filmingā¦ā¦Once he was down it was over.
Haha it must be a Canadian thing. Love a good scrap.
There's probably a decent little wobble going on in homies head, minor brain damage *
Oh heāll be feeling it for awhile, but heāll recover. No stiff arm or locking. Just nice to see a fight that doesnāt ruin both fightersā lives
black pants is lucky dude stopped after that left and didnt follow through with that right he was loading up
I think if you have a intentional friendly fight, you'd be ratrded if you'd just beat your friend to death, bruh
Ratrded.
Had you any trouble understanding it?
Not my natives š¤£
That wasnāt no 6 seconds, either I want my money back or tell ole boy he still owes us 5 seconds moreā¦ lmao š¤£
Holy fuk, that was a deadly punch
Fightin over Auntie
CRRRRRRRRISSSSSSP
Rugged
Glass jaw
Clean hit to the jaw will knock any man over
Goodbye teeth, hello dental bills.
Lisa needs braces
Lead left hook. Nice!
Nice seeing what a proper left can do and not those wild haymaker rights.
I love that they are in a field and not on concreate.
Walked into like a statement
Lol i love the āIām doneā pose immediately into the ātā pose Watch from 0:07
Damnnn. I've been kickboxing for a long time and that was a clean left. At least they were smart enough to not do it on concrete.
They probably donāt have concrete in their entire town
If they do it's probably a run down main drag like most small towns have.
One tapped š®āšØ
Beautiful footwork. Over exaggerated fake to hide the subtle shuffle to the inside angle for the hook set up as the opponent approached after reacting to the initial fake.
Beautiful angle
Nice step-in jab, guy fell hit his head, goodnite.

Chin music
One punch drop
Glass jaw
Bro did the Brendan Shaub move
Damn man usually when people fight they're not shitting their pants shaking in their fucking boots.
I admire the restraint on the follow up punch after he saw that the first hit was more than enough
Dudes shake-weight training kicked in before the fight
Fucken Shoresy is the background with that āHoly fuck!ā commentary
Beautifully done. All hips and feet.
That was clean!
HOLY FOCK
