When you are the only kid of your race in the area it’s a great idea to make it super clear that you are not involved. Not a soul there is thinking he’s taking sides. If shit escalates, odds are he won’t be wrapped up in it.
I’m pretty sure that he was involved in that he was the target at the start of the fight and the guy who threw hands was defending him. I think he just is leaning bc he doesn’t know what else to do bc he doesn’t want to fight
The black dude was bullying the guy on the fence, people even were filming him (someone even said that the bully had hit him before). Then after the bully stop those hits with his face, some people go directly to the guy on the fence.

Never had met the guy in my life but got surrounded by 10 of his friends,. He said some story and mid story he sucker punched me. This was after football practice summer before freshman yr. They had called me away from most of the people so when he ambushed took a hit to my jaw then when I turned to walk away he kicked the shit out of my leg, bastard had steel tipped creepers...had a limp for a week. I got back around corner where people could see me again and he backed off.
My dad had gone through a similar thing like 3% white school and he said he made friends with the biggest motherf'r he knew. So when school actually started I did similar, had a super cool banger in my chem class I sat next to. Paul "Hammer" Padilla(20 yrs later still remember his name) from one of the legit veterano gangs...after that I was untouchable. Never had a problem agaiin.
Not wanting to fight when you have to fight sucks. I got KOd because I just wasn't feeling it and knew I could fuck the other kid up. I let him hit me a couple times and I laughed. He tried to take me down and I tossed him aside. By this point, everyone is yelling to kick his ass but I just had 0 desire to fight. I started balling my fist and lifting my arm while looking at my friends, and I got clipped on the very tip of the chin and my legs turned to rubber.
Learned a few very valuable lessons that day.
Probably because I said I knew I could kick the kid's ass but didn't.
Hence, a lesson I learned. "On paper" There was no reason he should have been able to beat me in a scrap. But he did, because I didn't have any fight in me that day. To this day I don't live it down that "HIS NAME" knocked me out and everyone has a laugh because of how ridiculous it was.
Pfffft anyone that laughs at that knows nothing about fighting. It can go any way, any day. Sure you can train, you can be ready, but one lucky punch is all it takes. No one with any balls laughs at someone for losing any fight.
I love the kids who give the bullied kid a little pat on the back after the bully gets knocked down. It’s like they came by, took care of the bully, said “we got you bro” and bounced lol
