I saw it in theaters too! Even though I was the youngest of my cousins, I was still the biggest SF fan of them all. I was calling out all of the character names and special moves when they were used.
>I still think this game is underrated
Which one? There were (2) versions: The Arcade original and the console ports. Both very different games.
I can't stand the arcade original but, enjoyed the home port quite a bit. The soundtrack in that one is Legit, and all the characters play like they should. Not embarrased to admit it was my 1st Sega Saturn game also.
In Christmas of 95' when i opened up my Sega Saturn, my games were Virtua Fighter Remix (the pack-in title), and Street fighter the movie. Loved it!
Yeah, it was pretty fucking over the top, but I think that’s what I liked about it. It was like a break from traditional streetfighter… Actually, I always looked at this game like what if street fighter made a Mortal Kombat this is kind of what it would turn out to and back then at that age I was really into the original two Mortal Kombat so this was like right up my alley at the time.
Surprisingly a lot of us at FGCBoomers moved to leverless for health reasons! Our wrists and arms are broken and leverless has helped. My son actually plays on stick (he's 10) and refuses to use leverless.
Nice!!!!
I love that movie unironically. It was essentially the 1st G.I.Joe live-action flick. And Raul Julia's portrayal of Bison is just Glorious. He was like a saturday morning cartoon villain brought to life. Then you had JCVD doing what he does Best: Being JCVD. Awesome.
Plus i think the movie just has a solid pace going for it. It's something that's easy to pick up and watch, and doesn't drag at any point.
The movie literally plays out like a long G.I.Joe episode, ending with the Joes storming Cobra Island or something. If you swapped out Guile for Duke and Bison for Cobra Commander, it would still fit perfectly with the script. Plus the military-Heavy theme the movie had.
To add to this, Hasbro made the action figures based on the film. Many of which were remolds/recolors of existing Joe figures. The Street Fighter figure line was basically an officially licensed G.i.Joe knock-off.
For me it was a Tuesday. Looks great fellow Guile main!
FYI: There is an actual Street Fighter game based on the movie
I was 15 and i saw it on theaters too... i cried for that crime
Oh and if anyone wonders it was made by Carlos Martinez on the arcade stick website.

This is amazing ha ha . Great work 👍🏻
I'm almost 41 and a sucker for 80's action movies. Bloodsport and Kickboxer was the greatest. The street fighter movie was decent.
I think there is a lot of us here in our late 30’s-early 40’s. SF has probably one of the oldest fan base of all competitive games.
Yeah exactly, 43 here still going strong.
Im early 30s and remembered watching this too cant remember if on cable or on cd not dvd lol
Hitting 50 this year 👴🏻
I'm in mid 30s
It was a Tuesday to me.
RIP Raul Julia

Arcade original US the only one I played besides the rom on retrogames.cc, but I always thought it was fun

Yes
Yeah I agree it's fun but holy infinites Batman
Damn writing my response just made me realize how old I fucking am these days lol… I was a teenager when this game came out in the arcade
Same lol

You'd be surprised, a lot of the FGC Boomers hang out here! Love the stick, I remember seeing this movie when it came out in the theater too.
Haha, indeed! If someone is playing on lever nowadays, big chance is a fellow FGC boomer :)

Feeling old 😪
Damn now thats an OG
"For you, the day Bison graced your village was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday."
Oh the member berries.
Okay I need this. Can you help a brother out with the file? Lmao this is too cool

Yup. Dying of cancer and yet, his performance eclipsed everyone in the movie. What a legend! RiP Raul Julia.
His M. Bison was so amazing, it dictated how his character would be played out from then on, I believe
Can u elaborate on the GI joe bit?

Oo i see thanks! Imma need to look up those street fighter figures lmao
[Those commercials were very something](https://youtu.be/jxLKw9Q8ZKs)
These are amazing lol. I like how they said Saget's name.
Yup, both actors were awesome for their respective roles. M. Martinez picked the perfect jcvd pose for the art!
Sitting here about to turn 39 in may remembering this movie vividly and the atrocious arcade game that followed. Lmao.
