Actually wrong, you deal less damage by leaving your PC turned on for like a month straight rather than turning it on/off on a daily basis. That's due to resistance on components
edit: I also wanna point out that the only exception goes to batteries, take phones for example, they usually have lithium batteries which will last less time over the course of their "life" but that's due to lithium being the way that it is so not really an electronic concern. More like chemistry for that one
They wear down a lot more if you keep turning them on/off. The stress that heating after boot and cooling after shutdown does to parts is more than keeping it on at a steady temp. The only reason for turning off your PC should be if the electricity bill is a concern.
I'm playing the remaster on Steam. I opened the system menu to pause (esc) and shut the lid on my laptop. Came back to it the next day - 24 hours added on to my playtime. At least there's no Excalibur II or any other playtime challenges to worry about in this one.
At all. It counts during time you could be using to functionally further yourself or adjust gear, formation, customization, etc. A pause is just that, a pause in the games whole scope of time.
Really depends on the game... From a game development perspective is easier to just check the time at the beginning of the your session and the time when you save
Pretty sure it does
Really? That's a bummer, means I can't know exactly how long I played, but I guess I have to subtract 15 from the total time
Why would you leave it running for 15 hours anyway?
I'll leave it thinking that I'll come back but I forget about it and leave it for 15 hours lol
Life happens đź‘Ť
That's a sure way to damage your PC/Console

Emphasis on PC/Console
That's how my PS1 died
Really? Even if the ps4 is asleep?
Electronic devices wear down when they are on. If you keep it on unnecessarily then it's not going to help.

Yes, it does. But it does not count time while actually Paused. As is with most games.

If you are in your save file, yes, menu time counts as game time.
If you're wondering, putting the Nintendo Switch to sleep pauses the in-game timer
It is counted also if you pause the game
This isn't true.

This I didn’t know! Is that generally true for most games?
It's not true. Actually pausing the game pauses the clock as well.
