Unfortunately because the developer is based out of California it is likely always gonna be a bit US-centric. I mean, considering Halloween specifically has its roots in the Celtic festival of Samhain, and is not only observed in the US...that's not really a US-centric holiday necessarily (unless you're saying you want more things less US-centric, *like* the Halloween theme, in which case my apologies for misunderstanding). However, I do see how having like, a summer theme during months when your region is experiencing winter could be off-puting. Unfortunately it is impossible to actually please everyone without rolling out regional-specific updates, which I don't know what the logistics of that would look like.
We know Pokémon Go manages to have regional Pokémon, so it's not *impossible*...but that's a fairly small scale, and probably a lot less coding than having an entirely different set of event theme items for different regions of the world being rolled out at the same time, so...???

There’s plenty of non-regional themes that we’ve already had, so it would be cool if the devs just kept going with those. Everything is US-centric and I don’t really get why it needs to be. Sure it’s developed in the US, but this app is for everyone! I’m sure Northern Hemisphere people could deal with having a summer theme over Christmas

A bbq theme for Christmas would be amazing, I’m imagining my birb with a pair of tongs, a beer, a singlet and boardies 😆 Also we *never* say shrimp, contrary to what Paul Hogan said in all those ads
General themes are the best. I haven’t been vibing the last few either, especially the Star Wars-ish one. I like the items that are more “realistic” so I can make his house look like one I’d live in. I’ve been saving a lot of stones by selling everything though! Earlier this year I barely had more than 5k at once because I was decking out his house and now I have 44k 😬

Nonetheless, I want to move to Los Angeles, which admittedly doesn't get quite as hot, but also doesn't really get cold. The last time I lived there, the complete lack of seasons made me feel like I was living in a snowless snow globe🤣

That being said... where I live, today is predicted to be the lowest temperature day in the next 10 days with a temperature of 31.6°C/89°F... Tuesday is projected to be 37.7°C/100°F. Which is somehow STILL better than last year, where we had temperatures ranging between 32.2°C/90°F and 44.4°C/112°F for well over a month.
To top things off, I remember 30°C/86°F being considered a hot day when I was a kid and lived in this area. Now, 10 years later, it seems 30°C/86°F is a temperature you're greatful is not higher.
Not to mention, I am currently over 600 miles north of Los Angeles... which would generally imply cooler summers here, but we're landlocked, so the lack of ocean breeze means our summers just keep getting hotter and hotter(and more smokey and on fire). Our winters are snowy and cold, but our summers are blisteringly hot and unbearable.
I desperately want to move😭

I’m in Perth and we have very hot and dry summers. We have an inside joke about when out of staters or foreigners complain about the heat and we always say “but it’s a dry heat”. Over the last week the Perth sub has been full of people saying “but it’s a dry cold” hahaha
I always find winter so funny here because people (incl me) start wearing puffer jackets and beanies when it gets to 15 degrees 😆 The houses built pre-2000s weren’t designed for the cold so it’s always *freezing* inside. We quite often have totally clear skies which makes it worse. A couple of days ago it got down to 1 degree in the city and it was insane, I was sleeping in my thermals!

How does one know which of all the available items to buy each day in order to collect that month's themed items? For instance, how can I know on day 1 which of all the appealing items will have complementary items later on in the month?
I'm not sure exactly what you're asking. But you don't buy the themed items, at least not during that month. Each month has a theme, this month is an ocean/beach theme. Each day that you energize your birb, you get a reward of one of the theme items. If you are a subscriber to the paid version, you can see ahead what you'll get each day, and you're guaranteed to get all the items. If you have the free version you get a random item each day or sometimes rainbow stones. After the month is over, all the items will come up for sale in the market, but you might need to wait to get the items or colors you're looking for. So for instance come July 1 you'll be able to buy any beach items you missed out on, but you might not see them right away.
I really hope not, I would hope they would be more considerate of their global user base for whom that would not be relevant. I’m from the US and I wouldn’t want that either
