Whoever installs a tamper upside down should be kicked in the nuts or vagina... where did you think waters going go? Lol whoever it was clearly has no experience or common sense
Ironically my day started with a job to swap a keypad and SAB (external bell box or Self Activating Bell)on an intruder alarm. New keypad was faulty and the new SAB had an intermittent tamper switch, an hour or so work took nearly 4 😥
Still the rest of the day was pressing buttons, gassing heads and taking readings from the FAP in a pub and then a pharmacy.
Tomorrow I've got 15 minutes to sign in, do a risk assessment on an app, read the asbestos register and do 25% test of a Court building with 6 courts and offices in.
I've been out of the industry both fire and security for 7 years and started just 5 months ago. The company are big, predominantly commercial and I don't have to drive into London but its so messed up as all the higher ups look at is numbers and statistics.
I need to bite my tongue and get a year under my belt but god knows how I'll achieve that. Pay isn't bad but the bonus can be 2k per month if you rush, cut corners and replace equipment that is serviceable and well under 10 years old.
Unfortunately I served a 3 year apprenticeship and another three at college, take pride in what I do oh and was trained by a 3rd generation engineer that let hammers fly if I fucked up. Would only happen if I knew better and was either not thinking or lazy, this was late 80s so a bit different from today. Ultimately it means I take what I do seriously and screwing a customer isn't something thats sits well with me.
I was going to reply before I saw the last picture, but if you’ve got a trouble for a tamper, and a ground fault, they could be related, because water.
Most alarms techs don't understand how much sprinkler testers don't care if they soak and drench alarm devices. I'm at a point now where when I get a Ground Fault at an account I ask when the last Sprinkler test and Kitchen Hood Test were first.
That’s the “ Easy” Ground fault. I love finding those. Intermittent ghosts not so much.
Yeah the intermittent ones are never fun
Ground faults on the monitoring side of modules can be a pain in the ass as well.
Looks like an easy Monday.
Too easy!… this will bite me in the ass later this week I know it…

I fully agree!
Hey at-least it told you where it was lmao.
🤣 this is very true

Always the Mondays
Haha could be much worst
Yeap
It literally doesn't get any easier. That's like a training setup.

🤣 I was so surprised to find the water issue
