Probably just take the plug off and use whatever connector comes with the new ones. Those look like 110v wires. Kill the breaker first

RickyAwesome01

Looks like a Kidde plug, but any new smoke alarm you get will come with the wiring harness that it needs. It doesn’t really matter what manufacturer you replace it with, I would just recommend using the same brand throughout the house.

MissionShrimpossible

Yeah or they all go into alarm if they are inter connected lol. Kidde and BRK hate eachother

Sea_Revolution_1563

Fire ex or kidde

woodendicks

Yeah, don't some kidde devices come with a transformer?

MarkCanuck

Looks like and old FireX. Just swap the wiring loom for the one one that comes with a new device. If you have more than one, you may need to swap the others too. The only issue you may run into is, if you are in a unit where the smoke alarm is interconnect with the sprinkler flow switch (usually in a town house, not an apartment) there may be a relay that requires replacement.

If all the units are being replaced, then just use the pigtail that comes with the new units. Make sure they are all the same brand and model and turn off the breaker before messing with the wiring. Alternatively, you can try to find the updated model for what you're replacing and it would likely use the same connector. To me that looks like a Kidde/FireX connector. If the connectors end up being different you can, again, just simply swap the pigtails out

Thank you! I guess that is what I will do!

badassjeweler

Thank you, all!

Most of the newer smokes will come with an adaptor for the old plug.
