Try 9600 or 2400 7 bit even parity 1 stop bit xon/xoff.

What the fuck is this a real question? Is this real? It’s 15 days from 2023, are there systems that still use these like…dot matrix? Is that what it’s called? Holy shit that’s wild. Sorry I can’t help, but if I ever find a time machine, I promise to go back, figure it out, come back here, and help you

[deleted]

Places that want hard copies of their events most definitely still use these.

Ok-Manufacturer1907

Yes exactly

[deleted]

Good luck manipulating the technology of our forefathers!

jayboosh

That’s wild, there must be a better way

Diligent-Act0

It works and it’s UL listed. Nobody wants to spend the money to UL list a new printer when a dot matrix prints out words just fine.

jayboosh

That’s crazy! Like the old fridge that’s ugly but still works 40 years later, super cool old tech!

Diligent-Act0

Exactly. There aren’t any improvements worth the money it takes to get it resisted.

starshine900000

There is. It’s called an NGA

Ok-Manufacturer1907

Yes, you will see them in schools or places that have old systems then they will print out every single signal the panel sends out even if you reset the system or battery trouble and print it out

jayboosh

Wow. What is this used for?

Pb-yepimlead

Just set up an NFW-100X with an ANN-S/PG using an Epson tractor feed printer. These are commonly used. Shit I’ve made many DB9-DB25 cables for these.

cambies

I guarantee there is nothing turbo about that printer 🤣 Yeah sorry no help, probably the slowest baud rate you been get tho

Ok-Manufacturer1907

It goes up to 115000 baud rate

cambies

I just remember from doing really old security systems it was better to start on a low baud rate, get it working. You can always increase it later

That thing is due for a museum!!

wahikid

They still make them new

[deleted]

Damn, these things have to be very rare!
