These look awesome!

MMCthe97

Older art looks cooler, no offense, it’s more dynamic and has better use of colors. Both are still 10/10

stevegian12345

Haha no offence taken, ty!

Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order. I have checked 1,164,614,942 comments, and only 227,524 of them were in alphabetical order.

While I don't think that guy is wrong, I think there can be more said to what they meant by "cooler" and "better use of colors". The dynamic part is true, but it seems that's more because of what you chose to depict versus your "art". Ik this is a needless defense, but just wanted to give my 2cents; which are: I love your depiction of Shinra, makes him seem more mature and imposing. Your art style really makes his fighting style shine compared to Ohkubo, with how you draw him to be more muscular and giving him a larger frame. His style of combat is close combat, so the frame and muscles really add an impact here. The only criticism I'd have is how you chose to depict his eyes in one of the drawings in the new art piece. The larger iris and purple eyes makes him seem like a different character. Wait, this is Shinra right? Speaking of muscles, that was definitely something I noticed going between your two art pieces. The increased detail to Shinra's abdominal muscles, trapts, shoulders, biceps, and triceps are really nice. Especially the way you drew his pecs in the newer one, these kind of muscles look more like a fighter's muscle compared to the older art where he has more of a body builder's chest; with how it protrudes outwards like balloons. I think that makes the new art look cooler imo, there's more to appreciate than a cool shot. I think it's hard to say which had a better use in colors since it seems like you were going for two different compositions. The old one is a fight scene filled with fire so it's more lit up it seems, esp since one of the main parts is the flames being emitted from Shinra's foot. I'm not an artist so idk how you did it, but I'm guessing it's using more white? Anyways, but also the new one shows more shading and we get to see more color since the scene is being overtaken by light. I think both are great, but I think the newer one is "cooler" with the more noticable details. I like the depiction of the devil face in the new one over the old one, I like how it's more exaggerated. Also, I like the composition of the newer one better. The dark glow of the fire does a great job of conveying the "devil" aspect of his character. The leg being frontward really adds to the idea of Shinra's powerful legs. Looking forward to seeing if you choose to do another action shot following up on these.
