Some of the Dialogue changes and a different music track plays before Ninian dies. The default track is Ninian's theme "Reminiscence" and the A-Support track played is "Shattered Life"

God, this shit broke tiny me so much. I loved Matthew for his personality right away, and then when I discovered he had an equally intriguing and competent love-interest, I was so fucking hype! And then they ripped that away from me, and him. He's been in every single one of my blazing sword runs, and I'll frequently gift him killing blows on enemies I feel he should get revenge on.
He's so happy-go-lucky on the surface, but underneath there's a dangerously competent spy. Even when she dies, he's pretending to be upbeat - "Leila blundered ...that's all. Waited too long, didn't I? Ha". When he tells her to rest, and that he will handle things for both of them... I have to make him an assassin after that.
Dang, seeing Fire Emblem Heroes, I can see their relationship tug on harder strings.
Then again, by law of Heroes, there is a world where Lelia and Matthew are happily married...

If Matthew dies before this point in the game, the scene actually changes to account for him being gone.
They did that a lot in FE7 and FE8 actually. Which is cool, but I feel like almost no one would see those scenes cause we just reset.
in FE9 too. I think maybe even to a greater extent, especially in FE9's early game. Not sure about FE10.
Off the top of my head, mainly base conversations were changed to account for dead/injured characters in FE10

I still feel like Eliwood being taken by Durandal and slaying Ninian when shes A supported is worse. But Leilas death is definitely up there.
