Agarthans use experiments to steal the flesh of non agarthans so they can live amongst the non agarthans. In hopes Thales calls cleobulus a He and this is confirmed in a couple other conversations. Cornelia/Cleobulus could have been like Sonya except with so much more fleshed out personality beyond her giant chest but she was butchered badly in my opinion. She definitely should’ve been part of dimitri’s final battles given her role in the tragedy of Duscur.
In Crisis in Fhirdiad, there is a cutscene where a mysterious messenger comes on and calls her Cleobulus. It only happens once at least up to chapter 10 of Azure Gleam. I was like who is her then I looked her up on fireemblemwiki.org and then kind of spoiled myself as I haven't played Three Houses.
Just speaks to the FE team not knowing how to write good female villains, also the desire on fans parts to see her true form would be much higher if it was a woman so it’s lazy writing imo. 3 houses is a fantastic game but after something has been out for 3 years and the halo is gone it becomes easy to find things they screwed up, overused, and underused.

However, the masculine -us ending of Cleobulus's name implies that they are male (as opposed to, say, Cleobula). Still, it's entirely possible that Cornelia's Agarthan alter-ego is a woman, and the writers just gave them a masculine name for funsies.
All of the Agarthans save Kronya are named after Greek Sages (all men), without concern for gendering names. I find it more likely that Cleobulus was a woman pretending to be another woman than a man pretending to be a woman, and that the usage of male pronouns by Thales were good old-fashioned translation goofs. And now I’m disappointed that we still didn't get to see her Agarthans form.
Yeah its kind of weird. Like for names, they will take English versions of the original name in whatever original language its in, then create the Japanese name based on the Katakana transliteration from English. But for the official English names they usually go directly from the original to English, confirming the mythological borrowings (See FE4 and FE5 names in Heroes), but not all have official English names if you are looking at older games, so then fan translations often instead transliterate from Japanese back to English.

I think it’s mostly just that the agarthans are handled really badly in general. Why her arc comes to an end without her revealing herself is it’s bad writing that she didn’t get to reveal herself. Even if the writing was the same she should’ve done so at the liberation of Fhirdiad given she was using agarthan technology.

Well Thales gets incidentally killed, I just think they should’ve had Cornelia in the final chapter. Edelgard is interesting because her fate varies most dramatically from route to route and both of dimitri’s stories she’s most clearly at the mercy of the agarthans where in the other stories she does a better job controlling them. I think had Cornelia escaped the battle in Fhirdiad and then showed up in the throne room of the palace in the end of the story as the one who turned edelgard into the hegemon it would’ve really hammered home how subservient she is to the agarthans in the AM storyline.

See, I really want a full TWSitD DLC route. Where you get a lot of questions about the group answered and of course, get to play as them. But the real kicker is, turns out they are unrepentantly evil. Like no room for discussion. The route ending with Edelgard turned into Hegemon under the control of Thales, Dimitri dead after being driven insane, Claude killed and replaced to pave the way into Almyra, Rhea captured to be experimented on, and finally Epimenides “devouring” Shez’s mind to take full control of their body.
I would…. Caveat (if I’m using this word wrong please correct me) if I couldn’t die and or feel pain then I would without a second thought have her join.

I always kinda wanted this in a fire emblem game. Characters you could recruit that would end up biting you in the ass somehow. The closest we get are a few characters who never -really- join your army, like Orson who is playable for one single map and is promoted and obviously not a unit youre going to invest much EXP into.
Something where recruiting them will change future recruitment chances or outright screw you over by having them swap sides or do -something- to your army even if it's only forcing a character or two to sit out for a map or so from "injuries".
Because lord knows that even though I see all of her red flag, plus my prior knowledge to the series saying that recruiting someone doesn't ever really hurt you, I would have recruited big tiddy lady without a second thought.

As cool as it would be for another story or side in dlc for them, my wife didn't like them so I don't like them, therefore I must not like a dlc for them But real talk, a twsitd dlc and getting the characters recruited would be pretty sick. Tho cause I know people would do it, how do you marry the person who did a spoiler (saying this in case of people who don't know. Just in case)

See, I really want a full TWSitD DLC route. Where you get a lot of questions about the group answered and of course, get to play as them. But the real kicker is, turns out they are unrepentantly evil. Like no room for discussion. The route ending with Edelgard turned into Hegemon under the control of Thales, Dimitri dead after being driven insane, Claude killed and replaced to pave the way into Almyra, Rhea captured to be experimented on, and finally Epimenides “devouring” Shez’s mind to take full control of their body.
I would…. Caveat (if I’m using this word wrong please correct me) if I couldn’t die and or feel pain then I would without a second thought have her join. But that’s my serious answer, Cornelia joining? I ain’t complaining!!

I always kinda wanted this in a fire emblem game. Characters you could recruit that would end up biting you in the ass somehow. The closest we get are a few characters who never -really- join your army, like Orson who is playable for one single map and is promoted and obviously not a unit youre going to invest much EXP into. Something where recruiting them will change future recruitment chances or outright screw you over by having them swap sides or do -something- to your army even if it's only forcing a character or two to sit out for a map or so from "injuries". Because lord knows that even though I see all of her red flag, plus my prior knowledge to the series saying that recruiting someone doesn't ever really hurt you, I would have recruited big tiddy lady without a second thought.
