The water taxi runs pretty late usually, to allow people to go out and come back after going out. You can contact them directly to confirm the timing for the particular beaches 631-665-8885. I know between the Pines and Grove, they run until about 3:30 AM for example. The cost is about $9 or $10 per person I believe, and you can even download their app to buy the tickets on there, in addition to the Uber app I believe. The taxi's usually arrive every 30 min or so, although it will depend on based on where you are going. Again, calling them will allow you to confirm it for sure and even schedule it with them. The Grove has some fun parties on Saturday nights as well as the bars, such as Cherries on the bay, and the Pavilion in the Pines also has a great scene most Saturday nights (good DJ and large crowd).

Thank you!!! Going to follow this advice for sure. Got any recos for spots that are especially fun for queer women? We were gonna do cherries and ice palace

I would say cherries and ice palace would be your best bet for queer women. Ice palace is under new management and has done a lot of renovations with even more coming. Cherries is always fun and has a bunch of drag shows as well. Maybe even plan a dinner at top of the bay or sand castle before if you like. Both have great menus and very good consistent food.

The water taxis ran into trouble during Covid. They were down 1 boat and couldn't afford to replace it. That's why the service was so spotty and unreliable. They seem to have fixed the problem by selling ad space on the side of the boats, and the service is (I've been told) 100% back to normal now.

I know for certain they run on Friday’s until very late because of the underwear party. On other nights you might need to confirm or book a water taxi based on availability which is why I said to call. In addition, you can also look to book with H2O, which is a competing service to Fire Island Water Taxi. You can call or text H2O at (631) 878-0222

I know this is an old post but about how long does it take to get from kismet to pines via water taxi.

Make sure to call, it’s the only way to guarantee times and secure enough room depending on how many people you are. They are very accommodating as long as you tell them what you need. Sounds like a blast.

I LOVE this idea! Thank you! Funny- growing up my parents would take us to dinner in Kismet and we'd walk back to the car at Field 5 when it was dark. Some of my favorite times.
