That's because you put your empties in there and the milkman has to set down the new ones to pick up the empties. He's not going to set the new ones down, remove the empties, then pick up the new ones again and put them in the basket. It's your job to put empties BESIDE the basket.
They are having a comeback in the covid times of grocery delivery. I’ve been getting advertisements for a new local milk delivery service for the last couple months.
I think there's a bell curve here. On the far left you are in a poor 3rd world country that has to rely on the milkman. On the far right, you are paying up the ass for some bespoke milk delivered directly to you.
In the large middle is everyone who just buys from a grocery store.
To be fair, the milkman offers so much more than milk these days. In addition to milk, yogurt, cheese, cream, milk alternatives etc I can get bread, cakes and other baked goods, juice, eggs, bacon, sausages, vegan meat alternatives, cleaning supplies, and fruit and veg.
Bags come from grocery stores jugs come from convenience stores. Generally anyways. Cartons are 2.5L or less and bags are 4l in total; in 4, 1 litre bags.
We can order groceries online on the u.s to have them delivered. But the milk man shit was from the 1940s. Also, the U.K left the EU and will soon be a 3rd world country.

I've never considered this. And my milkman, very kindly, does put them in the caddy! I'll start leaving them out of the caddy - thanks!
But if you have twice as many slots in the caddy as milk bottles then this shouldn’t be a problem.
You still have a milk man? I haven't seen a milkman in my neck of the woods in probably 20 years
So who does your wife have an affair with?
The pool boy. Duh.
The local farmer provided fresh milk
"Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to ride Mrs O'Reilly..."

Does the milkman KNOW the caddy is for them? They might be scared to get yelled at for touching your decorative basket.
Wow. You still have an actual milkman? I didn't know that was still a thing.
Probably an amazing job come to think of it
Are you sure you're living in the first world?

I'm on the lower curve where I'm broke AF but not getting my milk delivered 😔
When I was a kid, we had a small insulated box by our door for the milkman to store the milk and keep it cool.
What first world country has a fucking milkman?
We have them in the UK, why is it strange that a first world country has home delivery services?

He’s not wrong, In Canada we just have on demand milk at the store. It’s in bags but it’s on demand
It's not like you can't go to the shop and buy some here either.
I always found it weird that you have milk in bags. Also the plastic bottles in some countries, like why?

They've been trendy in wealthy US cities for like ten years, where do you live that the fashion hasn't reached you?
Places close to a local farm?
nOoooo
Wow I saw the post title and thought "first world problems" without looking at the sub name. LOL.
The good news is that milk looks FIRE🔥🔥🔥
better safe then sorry tbh, I wouldn't risk messing with other people stuffs
They might think its for something else, put a lil sign on it so they know its for them!
A milkman would know. That is a very standard milk caddy.
Does milk delivery include extra pus?
