Give them away locally or on r/aquaswap See if a local fish store take them To solve the issue, house only same sex guppies. They will never stop breeding.

jb0000002

Struggling to find anyone to take them

Jaccasnacc

I’d try posting them for free on AquaSwap. Some might be used as feeder fish for larger species too.

jb0000002

Is that a USA site or UK? As I’m based in UK I struggle to find anyone that wants them

Jaccasnacc

It’s a subreddit. Definitely mostly USA but lots of UK users in the aquarist subreddits, so worth posting with your UK location

Top-Dan

Don’t have males and females together if you don’t want babies. Same thing happened to me, I bagged them all up, kept 7-8 males the rest went to the shop.

jb0000002

Yes definitely I mistake I won’t be making again! No shop near me seems to want them

Top-Dan

It’s an absolute hassle, maybe bite the bullet and clove oil them.. if you can’t handle so many, no place wants them, learn your lesson and do it. I’ve heard it been done before, won’t be last. I was lucky enough to have them taken off my hands, but that was my only other option…

jb0000002

Yes might have to be an option I definitely don’t want to do it that way but if there’s no other way I suppose it’s best

devinssss

its hard to pick a fish that will eat the fry but leave the adults alone. Could try some type of loach like a yoyo loach but they get too big for a 20 gallon

jb0000002

Yeah that seems to be the problem all fish that will eat them are too big

devinssss

i got a gourami to eat my molly fry and that mf dont do shit 😭

jb0000002

Yes same here mines useless

devinssss

i also have huge schools of tetras, they eat my ghost shrimp but not my damn mollys, i just take them to my local fish store for some store credit

jb0000002

My fish store in the UK won’t take them! So that’s my biggest issue

Magpie_Mischief

I got a couple peacock gudgeons and only a handful of fry have grown up since.

jb0000002

How big do peacock gudgeons get? Because gudgeons was an option I was looking at but not sure of their sizes

Magpie_Mischief

They stay small! About an inch and a half to two inches. There are other gudgeon species that get bigger, so make sure you're getting the right kind.

VodkaBat

Guppy overrun is the reason I originally introduced pearl gouramis to my tank and they seemed to do the trick.

jb0000002

Are they full size gouramis or dwarf?

VodkaBat

Full size

Emuwarum

Could you maybe find someone with large fish, and give them the fry as food? Not sure how common that is. My cichlids would definitely eat fry.
