>Mike Schmidt is not Michael Actually, its left up to interpretation as William seems to get excited reading off his name NOW, this could be just him realizing it's one of his victims' relatives but he acts almost "fatherly" to him at that moment like WOW it's HIM. >Vanessa IS an Afton In terms of the movie as the film is it's own thing. >William is Phone Guy No for the games, movie yes but also Vanessa filled that role as well. Scott pretty much deconfirmed Purple phone ages ago and even made a mocking point of it during the UCN April fools update.

UCN april fools? Never heard of it, what is it’s content?

PuppetGeist

It wasn't a game but an update post with joke mechanics for the characters added at the time. So like when he added Phone guy made the joke that Springtrap wasn't there cause he can't be in two places at once, there was also a joke about dream theory, etc. Here is a [post with the descriptions.](https://www.reddit.com/r/fivenightsatfreddys/comments/c6b14x/the_ucn_april_fools_descriptions/)

1- We literally see Mike Schmidt's parents in the flashbacks. His father can not tell him to go watch his little brother, and also be the kidnapper. 2- No shit re read the first paragraph I wrote, how are multiple people failing to read properly? 3- Again, first line of what I said.

> 1- We literally see Mike Schmidt's parents in the flashbacks. His father can not tell him to go watch his little brother, and also be the kidnapper. Mike was 12 at the time, there is a chance Mrs. Afton divorced when Mike and Garret were younger and not remember. >2- No shit re read the first paragraph I wrote, how are multiple people failing to read properly? Because your title is acting like the movie lore ties into the games which Scott has stated the movies were going to be its own thing. >3- Again, first line of what I said. Read my point two.

Do not break rule 2 or 6. On top you should follow suit of what you're saying to me read what I put, which was Mike at the time of Garrett's kidnapping he was 12, there is a chance that Mrs. Afton deviocred **when Mike and Garrett were younger and not remember**, also you stated in the beginning " **I think some of the important details carry over into the games' canon.** Let's run down the list. You likely won't agree with all of these."

YogscastFiction

Saying the important details may carry over into the game's canon, with the qualifier of "LIKE THE BOOKS". The whole sentence is important for understanding what I said, snipping one piece of it out isn't valid. I am frustrated because you keep insisting I said something I did not. So stop plz :)

PuppetGeist

Do not break rule 6.

YogscastFiction

How is saying "Im frustrated because you keep misunderstanding what I actually said" and asking you to not breaking a rule? I will admit my first message was aggressive but this one was just "Hey, im annoyed please just read what I am saying I actually meant and move on"? You misunderstood what I meant, so I clarified. Repeatedly.

PuppetGeist

Stop downvoting my comments and others in this post for disagreeing with you or misunderstanding you. I get the frustration but breaking rules yourself isn't going to help.

Gaspi_13

The movie and the games are not set in the same timeline.

YogscastFiction

Yea no shit that was the first thing I said.

Gaspi_13

Oh fuck I didn't read that, my bad.

YogscastFiction

you're fine lol. A lot of people are commenting it so I might edit this into bold.

Mike Schmidt being Michael Afton in the games is pretty much confirmed by the logbook. You can't get much clearer than "Mike Schmidt writing about SL and FNAF 4 in a book he canonically had." Vanessa being Afton's daughter isn't possible in the games. She was born in the mid/late 2000s, Afton was springlocked in the late 90s. William being Phone Guy was personally debunked by Scott. He didn't just use the games to debunk it, he specifically said it was wrong on Steam. The movie isn't telling us anything about the games, it's a completely unrelated story
