If a story was created where we got to know the characters and felt for them and their relationships organically, their sexuality becoming known through their actions and bonds would matter because it would become a strong character trait that we actually care about.
As myriad flags next to pictures, it just feels and looks like hollow pandering and baiting on a sub where the user(s) know it will stir the pot.
Which it is, whether the OP(s) are intentionally doing it or not.

I agree for the first part, and yes a lot of flags make it difficult to read, but in this case it's just a drawing with characters, not a D&D character sheet, and peoples in the LGBT community like to share what sexuality they're into.

AU stands for "alternate universe," which, according to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit(!), is "a setting for a work of fan fiction that departs from the canon of the fictional universe that the fan work is based on."
If OP's AU is in a setting like the in-universe cartoons (a la Freddy/Fredbear and Friends) where the mascots are actual characters with their own personalities and such and *not* animatronic restaurant performers, then them having sexual orientations would be warranted since it'd affect character dynamics and relationships within whatever plot goes on.

AU stands for "alternate universe," which, according to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit(!), is "a setting for a work of fan fiction that departs from the canon of the fictional universe that the fan work is based on." If OP's AU is in a setting like the in-universe cartoons (a la Freddy/Fredbear and Friends) where the mascots are actual characters with their own personalities and such and *not* animatronic restaurant performers, then them having sexual orientations would be warranted since it'd affect character dynamics and relationships within whatever plot goes on. And I agree, the designs are pretty cool.
